Excellent location, but be prepared for parking to be a challenge. Parking is compensated by the hotel, if you can find a spot in the designated lot.

Staff are very friendly. At check in your offered a map and given a briefing on where the high-lights of the area are located.

The room was very clean. Bed was firm, pillows too thick.

Our bathroom had a nice counter where you had plenty of room to unpack your items. Room was quiet, mini fridge with 2 bottles of water, plastic tea kettle available.

Breakfast was nice. You could sit inside or outdoors in a lovely garden area, the sliced cantaloupe was spectacular. They had fresh grilled vegetables, bacon, yogurt, cheeses, pastries, medium boiled eggs, coffee was very good.

There was a squeeze bottle mounted to the wall to use as your hand soap, my preference is a soap bar...the squeeze bottle is not easy to use. And others with dirty hands used it before you. Yuck.

There was a small place to put your soap bar in the shower but not a shelf for your shampoo or other items. I truly do not like placing my items on a shower floor.

Considering my few pet peeves this is an excellent location and I would absolutely stay here again.

I can't begin to tell you what an amazing experience I had at this boutique hotel. Mile and Maya both work at the reception desk. They were so helpful, kind and professional. I was only here for 3 nights and they made sure I went to the most important places and helped me with directions since that isn't something I am very good at.

My room was large and the air conditioning was very strong. Given how hot it is here right now, this was very appreciated. The water pressure and shower head was excellent. For me. This is something very important when I am traveling.

Every staff member was willing to help with anything. The breakfast in the morning was great and they made eggs in any way I wanted and provided one specialty coffee like lattes at no additional charge.

I travel quite a bit for work and personally. This was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone. I will definitely stay here when I return to Split.

The location is just far enough away from the center that it is quiet but close enough to be able to walk to everywhere. There is a church near the hotel and each night there was a concert outside. Where are there other parts that you think you can grow a lot more.

Lovely and quiet hotel set 5 minutes walk from the old town of Split. Good sized rooms - dated decor, but not a big deal for one night. Very friendly and accommodating man on the front desk made sure we got some breakfast early before we left for the airport! We ate that in the garden while serenaded by the nuns in the convent opposite singing their morning hymns! Very nice garden - also ideal for an early evening drink and game of cards!

This hotel is run by a very caring team, they are there to help, but never in your way, always happy to talk and ensure you are happy on your vacation. The manager of the hotel was extremely helpful when asked for advice on the local area and further a field. The room we had overlooked the garden and faced the Old Town (room 9) it had a small balcony with 2 chairs to sit and admire the view, and do some people watching. Breakfast was very relaxed, great choice of pastries, fruit and other local dishes. I would recommend their omelettes, beautifully cooked to order with a choice of extras, cheese, ham etc. Nothing was too much trouble at the Marul, a great team in a great location, only a few minutes walk to the centre of the Old Town. Would recommend this hotel for your stay in Split.

Brought my husband here for 3 nights for his birthday, chose the hotel based on the reviews and was not disappointed.
Great location, literally 5 min walk from main streets/square. 10 mins to promenade.
The national theatre is around the corner and beautiful singers performed on the steps each night whilst people sat in the square in front to listen.
The hotel owner and employees are all lovely and super helpful, also helped me arrange cake and champagne for my husband as a surprise.
Breakfast is included and lovely made to order omelettes and continental choices.
Our room was big with comfortable bed, great rain shower, big tv with many English channels and a small fridge. The best part was the amazing aircon !! I didn’t realise how super hot Split would be in August even late evenings, was a struggle sight seeing in the heat so I loved coming back to our room each time.
Enjoyed the bar and sitting outside, prices were very reasonable especially compared to bars literally a street or 2 away in the main centre. I wished the bar opened beyond 10pm as the evening was still lovely and light that time and temperatures started cooling to enjoy. Also shame the restaurant didn’t open evenings as would’ve loved to have ate there too.
Due to central location was noisy one night with people passing by till about 4am but not hotels fault.
Would definitely recommend booking here and would return if visited Solit again.

This small hotel is ideally located for exploring Diocletian's Palace, the wonderful Old Town and the sea front - all within easy walking distance, as are numerous excellent restaurants. Yet amazingly, it is in a very peaceful and quiet location. It has a small but attractive courtyard garden next to the terrace of the restaurant where we had breakfast and one lunch. It was lovely to be able to sit outdoors to eat under one of the many sunshades.

Staff are all very helpful and friendly, especially the hotel manager who treated our youngest grandson with sweets and toys to play with.

We had three deluxe rooms, two of which overlooked the courtyard garden and had pleasant balconies. The airconditioning in the rooms (very necessary in the height of summer in Split) was excellent.

We had four nights in Hotel Marul at the height of summer. This small hotel is tucked away in a calm part of this busy city and only about three minutes walk away from Split old town. The two rooms we had were comfortable and with balconies overlooking the small garden. The breakfast was very good and we also had an evening meal which was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and well equipped. We would definitely recommend this hotel for both comfort and location.

Hotel was booked for us by Adriatic Luxury Journey. Their taxi dropped us about 1.5 meter from hotel. We had to drag our bags through narrow ally to hotel. Hotel had only one do it all person. He took us to a room on 3rd floor/ no elevator room in attic. This was definition of luxury room by travel agency. There are no other guests here. There is one person in kitchen/restaurant who can not communicate. This do all person is not on premises and gets irritated if we had problem with room. But he was nice enough to move us from room in attic to a room with elevator access. There is no blanket on bed and I am sure he will be very upset when I will ask for one. There are no other guests and working staff here. He assured us that this is a safe place don’t be afraid. We went to town from back side of hotel. It has good access to all tourist attractions. Decided to make best of situation. Travel agency refused to change hotel. I have stay here 2 nights. Will check out on September 3.

was left with a feeling of being ripped off after our three-night stay at Hotel Marul. As a family of four, we were crammed in what was the size of a double room and charged 380 euros a night for the privilege. The room was taken up with the double bed and the sofa bed and there was no room to put our luggage. It was so cramped. We were the room directly behind the reception. The air conditioning unit gurgled loudly all night keeping us awake. Breakfast was OK. The staff didn’t let us know we could order speciality coffees and omelettes. We only realised when we saw another group of guests doing it. The only positive was the location, it really is in the heart of Split and garden setting for breakfast was a mini oasis. But overall, I would not recommend staying here given the price.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the waterfront and walled portion of the city, so conveniently located. Our transfer company had a hard time finding it with the GPS so she called and was directed on where to go and the hotel staff met us and helped us with our luggage. Our room was comfortable and there was a really nice outdoor courtyard as well as a fantastic restaurant. I highly recommend.
