Great location to have blend of relaxing seaside and cultural holiday. 15min bus trip into old town of Dubrovnik made accessing tourist sites, bars and restaurants easy trip. Lapad restaurants accessible by easy 15min walk along coastal path Hotel had great range of pools and sea access

We decided on dubrovnik about 2 weeks before traveling, I read a few poor trip advisor reviews about the staff and some of the amenities, but I havevto fissures with all of them, I guess with the people it's how you approach them. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and really went out ofbtheir way to be accommodation The room on the 4th floor was great and well finished as was the recently refurbished bathroom, with a lovely and interesting sea view Breakfast was as good as any buffet breakfast in any European 5 star resort, the staff where helpful and friendly and obliging......if there's a complaint its with some of the over greedy guests taking bottles of prospect to their table and only drinking 1 or 2 glasses......there was plenty and just going up for a glass when needed worked fine though over the 2 weeks they ran out twice Dinners at the 2 restaurants open on the resort where great, though maybe a little repetitive if going half or full board with knowledgeable and friendly staff We drank in the 2 bars open and the staff in both where always friendly and helpful The spa was the smaller one as the main one is being re built but the pool sauna and out side pool where great The other pools also very good including the adult only one at the sky bar The concierge went out of her way to help us with many restaurant bookings (we are big foodies and ate in several michelin guide and starred restaurants).......in dubrovnik old town and also recommended a few smaller places too The scenery if you haven't been there is amazing too and it was interesting watching the liners coming and going and the sunsets too If you are a game of throne fan there's lots to see too Michelin stared restaurant 360 Nautica restaurant Above 5 Marco Polo Are all worth looking at as food places plus the cable car up to the restaurant is also fantastic, we got an uber up and down as my wife does not like cable cars Uber is certainly the best way to travel in and out of town though the busses are regular and cheap Hope you enjoy it as much as we did

We had booked to stay in the Neptun but were actually given a room in the Ariston, which was fantastic. We didn't have a sea view but this didn't bother us at all as the room was so fantastic. The facilities are very well kept, and there is plenty to do and see around the Lapad area, so don't worry about not being directly in old town - Ubers to the old town cost about 80 kuna (£9 ish) and only take 10-15 mins. We had told the hotel it was our anniversary, and after coming back from our first half day, there was a complimentary bottle of prosecco and some chocolates as well as a lovely letter - nice touch! The pools were all fantastic, particularly the rooftop one. As mentioned in other reviews, breakfast was disappointing. We only used the breakfast facility for 4/7 days of our stay because the choices were so limited and repetitive. It is a bit of a free - for - all, which I can understand with it being buffet style but I would totally recommend using the smaller dining hall if you're not so comfortable with people being on top of you. It wasn't bad by any means and all food was tasty, just a little boring and too crowded for our liking. Don't let it deter you from staying here, just perhaps prepare to eat out/ go early in the morning as there is a mad rush at 9am. We found some members of staff fantastic, and some quite rude and unhelpful. However, we found this to be the same across Dubrovnik so not a criticism, just a general comment. We particularly liked the on the rocks bar, and the rooftop pool bar for day time drinks - the mango slushy is a must try. We were particularly disappointed with the housekeeping, despite the fact that they replenished towels daily, they made the bed (very loosely), but just left the throw cover and pillows strewn all over the floor. As a housekeeper myself, I found this so disappointing, particularly as we came off season. However, the housekeepers are always friendly and are the first to say good morning and how are you, so that did make up for it. The room on arrival was spotless as well. Other than these minor issues, we had a thoroughly fantastic time. The staff at the rooftop bar work incredibly hard, as well as the reception staff who couldn't do more for us. A little tip that we didn't know - we had booked half board, and one of the nights we ate off the half board menu in restaurant Zoe - and had a disastrous experience. We went to La Castille one night, and they told us we could eat off the main menu and the cost of the half board meal would be taken off our bill, meaning we got a far larger choice, better meals and far better service at a very reasonable price. Overall, the facilities are fantastic, staff on the whole are very pleasant and helpful, the location is great (particularly if you like a bit of peace and a retreat) and the views are to die for. I would definitely come back.

Rooms and location of the Hotel are perfect, sunset is stunning. Service at the reception, guest relation and housekeeping also very well. Service at the bar however has room for improvement - at least by some young ladies. It's a pity that currently there is no gym.

Amazing room and the view was FAB. Did have a few maintenance problems in the room but the lady at reception called Mjai who went out of her way to get these sorted for me. The other staff at the reception were really helpful too. The staff working in 'On the Rocks' bar were fab, thank you all you are amazing and just made my holiday. Nothing was a problem. They all work very hard. I would go back to this hotel but agree with some of the other comments, especially around the beach area.
