We stayed for one night in July and wished we stayed for longer. Staff were so nice, cute sunbathing terrace, really quick walk to the beach and great planned activities. We hadn't planned on staying in Zadar during our stay but I'd 100% recommend a stop off there. The old town is so pretty and the hostel can recommend some...

I had an amazing stay at the Drunken Monkey. Awesome staff, great facilities and atmosphere, and a perfect location in town. Highly recommend it. Kiki at reception was awesome as well! If you have any questions about what to do during your stay, she can show you everything. Thanks again!

The atmosphere is so chilled, the staff are lovely and just mingle with travellers, chatting which is really nice. We even shared a room with some staff members in 'the dungeon' which was a nice room cause it had A/C and was very dark, however we felt bad sometimes turning the light on as to not wake up the staff....

This is the second time i've stayed at the Drunken Monkey and it's just as good as it was the first time. Stayed in a private room this time. Very clean. Very comfortable. Met some great people and the guys, Chris and Kyle, were really hospitable and helpful with trips, etc. A great place to chill at the end of...

Me and my friend stayed here for one night, but we ended up wishing we had booked for longer. We had a private twin room and it was perfect for our needs. The guys there are do all they can to make sure you have the best time possible. If anyone asks me where to stay in Zadar then I'll...

Stayed here for 3 nights and didn't make it the first night as had to take a sleeper bus, so they left us the keys and code so we could come in really early in the morning which was so helpful! Great location 2 minutes from the beach, lovely staff, awesome atmosphere with a really nice bar and best showers...

Perfect combination of Resort & Hostel. Between The Drunken Monkey & The Lazy Monkey you can have whatever experience you want!! Both are very social & cross pollination between hostels is frequent. If you want quiet hours at night, stay at the Lazy Monkey but you can always come party & socialize with your new hostel mates at the Drunken's...

This place is so great, as a solo traveller I was welcomed with open arms from the moment I arrived - the staff are absolutely on point. They made my 3 nights in Zadar some of the most memorable travelling times I've experienced so far. I have nothing but positive reviews to give and would go back in a heart...

Stayed here again this year for 2 nights(separate ends of the trip) and it is without a doubt the best place in Croatia to stay. At the end of the trip I was expecting to just go back and relax but sitting up on the upper terrace talking to more travellers and it turned out to be the best night....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are the only established hostel in Zadar owned and run by fellow travelers. Set in a charming part of town only 15 minutes walk along the water front to the old city gates. 'Why should I stay outside the old town? 'Well, quite simply, we offer what the other hostels do not. We have a decked garden complete with sun loungers, splash pool, bar, and a sun terrace. As well as this we have a private courtyard, movie projector and guest computers. We are a clean, comfortable and secure hostel, located in the safe neighborhood of Arbanasi. Ideally situated minutes away from the main bus station, and the scenic Kolovare promenade; nothing Zadar has to offer is out of arm's reach. Note to self to all our globetrotters, avid and novice travelers that like to leave our beloved reviews - We are not in the Old Town! We are able to offer you all the facilities noted above for that very reason. We do have a bar that can get a little exciting and noisy at times, however, this is well regulated by us. We are definitely a hostel that offers fun and excitement as well as relaxation and calm. Come see for yourselves...... ... more   less
