Porto In Hotel is an excellent location with a decent price and why we chose this hotel. Super easy 5-min walk to Old Town, local bus stop across street, bus station around the corner, grocery, restaurants. We had room 205, balcony, great view, near the bay front, nice size room.
Breakfast is good, on order from a menu, and Matija was a good server with a good sense of humor. The front desk women were friendly, helpful, professional and we particularly were impressed with Adrianna (spelling?) who we most often interacted with. She was on top of things and we thank her.
Cleaning staff very good.
I’m not in favor of carpets anywhere and especially in hotels where I don’t think they ever get truly clean. Our room had an off-white carpet with many stains and you could smell whatever cleaner is used. It was something I definitely did not like. If they could remove those carpets.... but this is just me... WiFi was fine. You have to turn your TV on for free WiFi which is odd, as one day I unfortunately had business meetings, Zoom, and seeing that TV on, muted of course, is distracting. But for the pleasure traveler, it’s okay. The bathroom was just fine, but be sure to roll a towel between the shower and door, as if you use the sprayer, the water may trickle out the door onto the carpet.
Overall we’re glad we chose Porto In Hotel for the price difference, great location and excellent staff.

This hotel is in a very good location without the price of being inside the old town, we had a comfortable room with modern decoration and a balcony with a great view, it was super clean too. The breakfast is very good, in quality and quantity. And despite little English of some of the staff (dining area), we got very good service, they prepare especially to us the lunch we wanted at the time we needed, before departing Kotor. Very satisfied !!!

We stayed here for 5 days in room 201. This was a standard room at the back of the hotel. The bed was huge , the room clean and it was quiet. It has a balcony although the view to one side is old damaged buildings if you angle the chairs the other side overlooks a park. The breakfast is chosen from a list and if you have plans to be somewhere service can be a bit slow so factor this in but the breakfast is nice. There is parking 200m up the road that is free if you are unable to park in front of the hotel. It is in a good location

We where looking for a nice hotel in Kotor, and we found one of the best in the area. Nice location, very nice and clean rooms, excellent service. All the people there were very nice and polite. The hotel location allows to visit the old town on foot so it is very good option. We had a motorbike group and we all had an excellent time there, and after long day drive, the bed there was what we all needed!!
Definitely we will be back there.

A great location. The hotel is located close to the Bay of Kotor and Old Town. From the terrace, you have an amazing view on the mountains and the fortress. The staff was very friendly and always in for a chat. They made sure that there was always a parking spot available for our car. The food was great. The room was clean and big enough.

Just came back. Hotel was ok but never a 4*. Breakfast was ok, but the young boys serving need training. Dirty carpets in bedrooms but room size was good. Good position to old town and restaurants. Reception staff lovely and friendly.

The service at this hotel sucks. No room service, no coffee in the room and only basic facilities even though they talk about a 4 star service. The worst was experienced when we came down for breakfast. We were treated like refugees at meals. Absolutely no service or attention.

Clean, comfortable. Surprisingly large room compared to many European hotels. The breakfast menu had a nice variety and the excellent service. Excellent breakfast. Friendly service staff. Short walk to Old Town. One challenge is the set of stairs leading into the hotel is not easy to navigate for people who have difficulty walking.

Nice and very big rooms, good location close to the castle. There are good restaurants nearby.
The hotel parking is 200 m far from hotel, but if you're lucky, you'll find a place in front of the hotel.
The breakfast is from menucard, and very slow. If there are more people, no one gets what they order...

This was my first visit to Montenegro, arriving on the newly introduced early morning easyJet flight from Manchester to Tivat airport, about 3 miles from Kotor. I had selected the Hotel Porto In based on its location just outside the old town and the excellent TA reviews - if Americans praise it, it must be good. - and booked directly with the hotel. I contacted the hotel prior to travelling and they kindly arranged for a taxi to meet me at the airport, 6.50 euros one way, as opposed to 70 euros one way quoted by Holiday Taxis.

The hotel is brand new and everything is beautifully finished to a very high standard in both the rooms and public areas. I was shown to my room by a very lovely receptionist who gave me very useful local knowledge and travel tips. My room, 204 on the second floor, was on the front of the hotel, road side, with a projecting balcony (see hotel photographs). In his excellent review below, "Otherguru" (who over-nighted during my stay), thought that the front side road noise was an issue though I had no such problems, even with the balcony door open all night. Otherwise, I feel his review hits the nail on the head. I would add the room has a mini-bar with not out of the way prices but no tea / coffee facilities.

I stayed four nights and opted for a half-board option. The set menu changed every night and was enjoyable. Breakfast is a comprehensive a-la-carte affair, a plate of salamis and spreadable cheese with (excellent) breads with jams and honey are delivered as standard. Filter coffee and fresh orange / apple juices and fresh fruit bowl are also excellent.

The all girl staff (I think there is one lad somewhere in the kitchen) are an absolute delight - efficient and friendly, the waitress / barmaid Julija is a particular sweetie.

I have no hesitation whatsoever in strongly recommending this hotel and I will return.

Travel Tips: Kotor itself is an absolutely marvellous base with a superb old town, waterside and mountain walks. For those like me who like to get about by public transport, Kotor also has good bus links from the bus station 300 yards from the hotel back up the road in from Tivat airport.

The coastal tourist resorts of Herceg Novi, Budva, Sveti Stefan, Petrovic and Bar, together with the capital of Podgorica and the old capital of Cetinje have frequent bus connections. Services are operated by a bewildering range of small private companies running mainly elderly vehicles.Tickets MUST be purchased from the ticket office then access to buses can only be made with the approval of a fat controller perched on a stool with an enormous ledger - no kidding! (He is actually a very nice guy). After a while, you become accustomed to drivers overtaking on blind bends with a lit cigarette in one hand whilst using a mobile phone with the other.

Nevertheless, the drives are invariably stunning. Try an early morning bus from Kotor to Hercig Novi along the north side of the bay (via Perast). Come back from Hercig Novi on the Ellit Travel(?) minibus leaving H.N. at 12-25 to Podgorica via the Lepetane-Kamenari ferry booking to Tivat, then take the local Blue Line bus from Tivat bus station back to Kotor on the south side of the bay getting off outside Porto In hotel. The last leg is particularly memorable and the whole trip costs about 8 euros per person.

My stay was enhanced by good weather, I hope future visitors are as lucky. You will enjoy it.
