Location is good. That is actually all that was good about the hotel. No professional staff all around the clock, no food in the morning, no drink in the evening, will be better if there was no elevator, no parking, no nothing. Zero my stars Never again.

Nestled in the quiet side street of Musala, just off the main shopping thoroughfare Knyaz Boris I, the Grand Hotel London is ideally placed to explore central Varna. The architecture inside and out is delightful, a real period piece evoking memories of the 'Belle Epoque'. Our suite was magnificent and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Sadly the restaurant wasn't open due to the current situation, but we hope to dine there in the future. Breakfast was an absolute treat, with the service impeccable. I can't recommend Grand Hotel London highly enough for anyone looking for a boutique hotel experience in Varna.

It was one of my most terrible stays in hotel in the recent years. The only good news is that I booked only 1 night. The hotel is maximum 3*. The furniture and rooms are old fashion and need desperately refurbishment. I was accommodated in twin room, and the two beds was joined but still there was whole between them. No personal except one lady for everything. There was no entry for disable people at the entrance of hotel. Bathroom was very small with not separate shower - you need to go in bathtub to take a shower. Very bad experience.

I had the utmost pleasure of spending a night at the Grand Hotel London while exploring Varna. Too often do I restrict myself to cookie-cutter, run-of-the-mill chains like Marriott and Hyatt—sometimes points travelers just need to step out of their comfort zone and treat themselves to the hospitality and authentic charm found in locally-owned and operated hotels. I had no regrets here, and I give the Grand Hotel my highest recommendation for lodging in Varna. Read my specific insights: - Staff transformed my already-outstanding experience into an utterly world-class one. From the cordial, enthusiastic welcome at the wee hour of 1am; to the gracious accommodation of my electric wheelchair despite inadequate accessibility infrastructure; to the permission to use a private elevator so as to reduce the amount I’d have to walk; to the magnanimous breakfast attendants…everyone was just so friendly. Yet not obsequious, which wouldn’t be as appreciated. The service was just perfect. THANK YOU!! - Rooms were quaint, cute, classy, and very clean. I could really sense and appreciate the history woven into the furniture and ambiance, and unlike some hotels that allow “historic” to equal “poor maintenance,” such was not the case here. - Wifi was free, and so was breakfast (or perhaps included in certain nightly rates). The food selection was delightful, and before I fail to mention—the night auditor was so kind upon check-in that she fetched a few fruits from the kitchen to give me as a late-night meal before bed. So awesome! - Noise was nonexistent, which I always prefer. Despite having such a central location in the city, I couldn’t hear anything from either outside or between rooms. - This isn’t going to detract from how satisfied I was, but I want to mention it to folks. Consistent with most old buildings in Europe as a whole, the Grand Hotel is not wheelchair-accessible whatsoever. So don’t book here if you’re completely bound to a chair, or else…well…you’d have to sleep by the steps to the front door (just being silly on that part). Knowing Europe and the limitations historic properties have for mobility access, it’s no problem in my opinion, but it needs to be said. So let me finish off by commending this hotel and its staff for a practically perfect time. Please choose the Grand Hotel London (in Varna, don’t forget!) when you need accommodations in the city at a good, quality value. Thank you!

We booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Upon arrival (Saturday, around 8pm) we checked in & was allocated 2 rooms on floors 1 & 3. The room on floor 1 was fine. Unfortunately the room on floor 3 left a lot to be desired. There were a number of large holes/depressions in the floor underneath the carpet, so upon entering the room & stepping in to turn the lights on I almost tripped over as the drop is more than 1cm - this is approx 1m long and right where one walks! It's quite dangerous and needs to be resolved urgently. The air conditioning did not work properly and and was stuck on a warm temperature. The control panel was on but not responding. We asked reception for assistance and was advised that there was nothing they can do and to 'ask in the morning as they were night staff only'. Really unhelpful and made for an uncomfortable night, they were not interested in assisting in any form. Walls are very thin & the chandeliers also rattle when someone walks/moves/engages in bed based activity in the rooms above. Breakfast tasted nice, but very slow. I felt sorry for the waitress as she was running the whole restaurant herself, management need to put more staff on. It took 10 minutes to be given a menu (which was taken from the table next to us when they finished using it & passed straight to us, don't visit this hotel if you have any covid concerns!) and we waited 30 mins for a coffee to arrive. The overall hotel feels quite tired & in need of a makeover. I appreciate the 'old world' aesthetic they are trying to achieve, but the service recieved was less than acceptable, especially considering they badge as a 5 star. The response given when we checked out was pretty lacklustre and I wouldn't recommend staying here. Location is a plus, and parking right outside (paid parking.)

Exvellent trestaurant, with very pleasant ancient atmosphere. Very friendly and helpfull personal, tasty breakfast. Very central located. I dont knowe if the price was low because of copvid or not. But it worth more than I paid. As for cons, I didnt manage to get my TV working. It was just showing bluescreen.

I write this review for my husband, who stayed here in a business trip and he doesn't have tripadvisor. First of all I want to thank to the staff because we manage to do a small surprise for my husband on arrival. I sent them a message to put it in the room and they were very prompt. The room was spacious and cleaned, very good amenities and good breakfast. The internet didn't work sometimes or was working very difficult. Very close to the sea and to good restaurants.

We stayed twice, inluding last year Christmas and New Year's Eve, but we probably never will...For this year's 9 days winter holiday stay, they unfairly cancelled our Booking reservation, with just few days left! Their reason was a temporarily insufficient funds situation on the card we used for reservation. They broke the guaranteed reservation rule, as we solved their request in few hours time (the rule says maximum 24 hours)! On the phone and on Booking request they refused to give us the same offer, talking about the high requested time of the year and proposing us an e-mail reservation in order to skip the Booking platform. More, they lied saying there were still not enough funds at a second try. Finally, we got a call from the hotel appologising by saying they shouldn't have cancelled our reservation, but somebody else's! Meanwhile, after half a day of talks and mails, we booked at another hotel in Varna. The way they acted and they treated us is a big minus for a five star hotel and the fact that Booking didn't solve the situation is also unfair. We are on our way to Varna and still very dissapointed by what happened! Last stayed here 3 years ago and it's hard to improve upon great but Grand Hotel London continues to out perform. Old world feel but modern hotel with outstanding service. Stefan the bellman does a really good job! Hotel breakfast and restaurant has great meals and bar off of lobby is comfy and cozy and prices just right. Funny but would up in same Room 205 as we did three years ago! Clean, comfortable and peaceful...what more could you want for only 83 Leva a night. Look forward to another return stay!!!
