After arriving at the hotel at 9:30 a.m., checked in at 2:00 p.m. Other nationalities were continuously accommodated. It is true, we had lunch, so it went away.. Room corresponding to 3*. full of water after washing. Constantly repeating fried dishes. Praise, however, for excellent broths, chicken, pork. In the convenience store in the hotel you can buy everything you need, especially water much cheaper than in supermarkets. I probably won't even comment on the pool with Romanian clientele.. we probably won't come back here..

The pliska is a lovely hotel. It is very clean and there is regular entertainment on at the hotel with different shows and acts every few nights. The bar has a pleasant atmosphere and the drinks are very reasonably priced. The food in the restaurant was lovely and to a very good standard. It is within easy walking distance of all pubs/clubs/restaurants/ shops and the beach is only a 5 minute walk away also. The only problem i found with this hotel was with the maids. I found that after letting them into my room they had stolen my perfume and my earrings. Whilst trying to report this to the receptionist she was very rude and i found after that the hotel staff were no longer as friendly to me. Other people commented on the fact that their phones/money/clothes had gone missing, therfore if going to this hotel i would advise on keeping a close watch on your items. Despite this i had a lovely time staying at the pliska and would recommend it to others.

Almost everything was awful. There wasn’t diversity in the kitchen. It looked like they were serving the cheapest food - the ham was questionable, the water wasn’t mineral it is tap water, you can taste it. The wifi is really bad, the balconies are separated, but you can see people from the other room and they can see you. The animation program from the next hotel Elena was really loud and we didn’t fall asleep until 22:30. Don’t recommend this hotel at all👎

Extremely old hotel. Too expensive for what it is . It was probably nice when it was built in the 70's but since then not many changes in the building. Food is also pretty bad and low quality. I cannot believe that in the middle of summer there are no fruit but some very old oranges and apples. Golden Sands in general has become a run-down, dirty, low-quality resort. Ultra crowded beaches, with two meter of free areas. The sunbeds are not cleaned properly as is the beach is only very superficially cleaned. Cigarette remains everywhere.

Hy everyone.
I would strongly advice not to chose to spend your money and your holiday times with this guys . The food is old and terible .the services in the room are the worst you will ever seen anywere else . They lie about the services the hotel has to offer , they don't have spa although they say in their advert that you will have 24/7 spa access.
The staff is really rude .

Well back about a week after holiday in Bulgaria. I had read horrific reviews about the Hotel Pliska prior to going and was worried that it was some kind of Brothel!
Well it wasnt a brothel and it wasnt that horrific.
Thank god they had air conditioning in our room ( small fee ) was very hot during the day but bearable and cooled to comfortable during the night.
Had breakfast just once, average eggs and bacon cereal etc. Ate out rest of week in pubs restaurants etc. Very cheap so i would not recommend half board or all inclusive.
Room was very small and basic but done the job and cleaners were very good. Balcony poor with no privacy and our view was of some greenery and wood pallates and also an old busted lilo!
Pool seemed ok but was always crowded so we went to the beach every day. Quite expensive for beds ,cushions and parasol on beach ( approx £7 $14 a day) but everything else so cheap we didnt mind.
Most of the hotel staff seemed friendly but i can see what people mean about the "Robot woman" in her white tunic at the desk.
The most Annoying thing about this resort was the constant harrasment by the girls and guys trying to get you to go to their club or restaurant. Avoiding eye contact does not work and they will continue to talk to you after you have walked on. I spoke to one of these girls and told her that it was very off putting. She stated that business is bad due to so many people going all inclusive. It still is really irritating. Bars were generally quite poor but drinks cheap ( 4 bloody marys 14 lev £5 $10 ).
Regards Prostitution didnt see any at Hotel but on bar street there was always 5 or 6 hanging about. They will grab you literally and ask if you want sex and some did not take your initial refusal for your answer and will follow you down the street. They seemed to all charge 160 Lev £55 $110 for an hour. We declined although most of the girls are very beautiful. The Pimps were always hanging about and were quite creepy.
All in all i would return to Bulgaria but maybe different resort and hotel. It is one of the places were cost of living is still very cheap.
Have fun and if you want cheap and cheerful Hotel Pliska is fine.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Hotel Pliska, and me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is basic, which we were aware of, but we found it adequate. The location is good, though not ideal for people with walking difficulties.. We went B&B as we prefer to eat at different places. The food did not look very appetising in the hotel, and we only went down for breakfast once, didn't seem worth it for luke warm coffee and cold toast! This wasn't a real problem though as there are many very reasonably priced bars/cafes and restaurants in the resort. Our room and towels were cleaned daily. We had a family room (no.71a) with a decent sized balcony over looking the pool and a sea side view. This was our first visit to Bulgaria and we would definitley return. Good hotel if your looking for a bargain break, as did we.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Pliska at the end of June on an all inclusive basis.
The hotel is not as bad as the last comment on here. It is basic but very clean and the staff worked very hard, I never once saw them standing around doing nothing.
Yes the food wasnt that great BUT there were things you could have. I think a lot of English people expect it to be catered for English people eg bacon and eggs, chips etc but it is BULGARIA and every all inclusive hotel I have stayed at have catered for continental tastes. There was bread for toasting, cereals and jams, boiled eggs and beans plus fruit and sausages, hams and cheeses. Why shouldnt they cater for continental people when the majority of their guests are Romanian, German, Polish etc
The rooms were cleaned daily, bed linen and towels changed daily too.
I found if you are polite to the staff, they are polite back. They probably were getting quite annoyed with the English guests because whilst we were there for a week most of the English guest moaned about EVERYTHING.....water too wet, sun too hot LOL
All in all we had a really nice holiday, we didnt stay in the hotel all day and ventured out. The area of Golden Sands is beautiful and very clean, beaches are lovely and we will definitely go back....maybe even to the Pliska

stayed at pliska first 2 weeks of June this is the 3rd time ive visited here and we love it. It is a basic hotel but everything you need is there. Clean rooms, hot water, lovely pool . Reading some other reviews about this hotel i cant believe what im seeing. People complaining about eveything. This is a 3* hotel if you want 5* go and pay for it. this hotel is unbelievably cheap averaging £10.50 a night for all inclusive, I drink more than that in cups of coffee in a day which was very nice by the way, and my husband was very partial to the wine. There was always plenty of food some was nice and some not to my taste but youd never starve. The pool was lovely and clean as was the whole hotel, the staff never stopped clearing up after everyone. The staff in this hotel are amazing which is probably why we keep returning. Meto, Christina, Evan and Johnny you are a credit to this hotel and the other seasonal staff here are also very pleasant and hard working, and everyone of them keep smiling although they are being verbally abused by rude romanians who want the whole world for free. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel and ive stayed in hotels all over the world just dont expect a 5* hotel for a tenner a night although the service from the staff is 5* and will definately be back to this hotel next year, because tuk mi haresva
