Detailed Reviews
Chosen mainly for its central location with easy walking distance to the centre of Varna and sandy beaches (approx 15 mins). The Cathedral is a minute away if one wants away from the crowds and keep cool and the daily fruit and vegetable market just a bit further. The spring sunshine on my visit was very welcome and a reminder that it gets very hot here in the summer. The hotel is as expected. Simply appointed, clean, functional and organised. The breakfast is OK and dinners also hit the mark. No tea making equipment in the rooms is a bit unusual. All staff speak English which is helpful.

I stayed here 4 nights in total, only booking 3 then extending and the nice receptionist gave me the same price I paid for a better room on my last night which was lovely with a Belcony. They were very helpful, the owner helped me receive a package I had delivered ringing the company for me and taking it for me when I was still asleep. The other receptionist was really helpful too trying to find me the right bus to my next destination and making phone calls. It's nice to have people want to help you when travelling. Thanks! The rooms were nice and the only small problem was aircon didn't always turn on for some reason but it wasn't too hot so I didn't ask about it. Great location too so I could walk to the bus station, beach, around the city and also many great restaurants nearby.

With a great location vis-avis Varna Cathedral, you're in for a treat at Hotel Divesta.
Pleasant staff at all level, a very clean environment, most rooms with a small balcony, top floor bar & restaurant and more important: peace and quiet.
I can only recommend the view from the Sky Bar and add to that splendid food and good service.
This family run hotel have what you need for both business and pleasure, situated close to the Opera, pedestrian street for shopping, main roads to both airport and train station.
Breakfast served in similar quiet settings. A set menu of typical Bulgarian style food, simple, yet, you get a good start for your day out.

I stayed at the Divesta for 4 nights. The check in was fine. The walk from the reception to the elvevator was down a not too long hall that was pitch black. The light goes on when you reach the elevator.
For reasons unknown I was givien "an apartment"; living room and separate bedroom. It was fine, although th closet was rather small for more than one person. The lighting in both rooms was poor and one would not be able to read. The bathtub was great.
The elevator didn't go to the lower breakfast level. For those who are unable to manage the stairs, don't feel too badly, as the breakfast was dismal. The eggs were ice cold, regardless of the time consumed. I admiire Bulgarian hip-hop music, as much as most foreign tourists, but it's not acceptable early in the morning.. Also, there were booths with sitting for about 8 people. This was the unreal. How many large groups go to breakfast together? If so since it's buffet style, if someone sitting in the middle wants to leave the table, everyone would have to move to let the person out.
I had my wallet pickpocketed on a city bus. The wallet contained my plastic room card. The guy at the desk gave me another card and told told me that the replacement card would cost an amazing fee. The wallet as returned with the hotel card. I gave the replacement card back to the guy. He failed to make a note of the returned card and checking out was considerably un-
pleasant.
The hotel was very clean and the location was very good.

We stayed at the Divesta Hotel in Varna (Bulgaria) for several nights while on a long road trip through eastern Europe. The service was excellent and the room was one of the best we've ever had - in fact I think the bathroom was better than my own at home. The location is centrally located in downtown Varna - close to the big cathedral (went to services daily), gypsy market, shopping, and taxis to every where. I can hardly wait to return to Varna and the Divesta Hotel.

I spent 4 nights in Divesta hotel in the heart of Varna in December 2009. All I can say is a lovely, cozy hotel, offering comfortable rooms with relaxing atmosphere and the service perosnel being so friendly and hospital. I enjoyed a lot the good wine at the bar combined with business social talk and the delicious food in the restaurant. I definetely recommend this hotel for both business and city leisure stay.

This is a new hotel and we had a 2nd floor double room overlooking the main road. We could not hear any traffic noise at all. It was perfect for our short visit, the staff were extremely nice and helpful and spoke very good English. The location was right opposite the Cathedral and so central to everything.
Internet connection in our room was a bonus and free. The breakfast was sufficient with a good choice but unfortunately although kept in a warm cabinet was cold.
The rooms do not have coffee or tea making facilities but we asked for a kettle etc and this was no problem.
We shall defiinately be returning to the Divesta.

This is off-season review from my one night stay (solo traveler). I came ''too early'' from airport, but I got the room immediately at 12pm, and it was huge (separate bedroom, hallway, living room, bathroom, 2 balconies)!! I really though I booked a smaller ''standard room for 1 person'', so I guess they upgraded my booking. Excellent service :) Location is great, it was easy to take the 409 bus from airport and stop at Cathedral, BILLA grocery store nearby, so are the beach and main shopping street. My flight was leaving very early in the following day, so they prepared a breakfast for me and gave it 3am when I left, it wasn't so good, but I really loved the idea and service. The receptionist ordered me a taxi (don't trust them on the street in Bulgaria..) and it cost around 10-11 levas to airport. Unfortunately, the rooftop wasn't open while I visited there because of the off-season. However, the service was 10/10. Wifi worked as well. Carpeting in room.

We stayed here for one night, as we flew back via Varna airport. Parking in the neighbourhood is a pain - can't say it any other way. You have to park somewhere on the street, everything is a one way street, and hardly any space to be found. But besides that, the receptionist lady was very friendly and efficient. The room we were assigned had even a small kitchen - no equipment thou - and resonable priced minibar. The airco only works with the windows closed - which we found very good. The bathroom comes with toiletries, good shower and all a good size (bathroom, bedroom). We had a view from our room on the road /cathedral, although with the windows closed, you don't hear the road. The rooftop bar is worth a visit, great views, especially when it's dark outside. The bar was open until late, and they also serve food up there - we didn't eat here. Breakfast is basic, but enough choices, and all selfservice. Tables are reset quickly after people left by a friendly waiter. Location is great, walking into town or the beach after easy to do, and the reception provides a map if you ask. Very happy to recommend this hotel in Varna
