We started our travel across south east asia in Mandalay. The hotel has large and nice rooms. Ask for a moskito net. Not because there are a lot of moskitos in the room, but it makes you sleep very relaxed especiallly if you arrived directly from parts of the world with no malaria or dengue. The pool is large and...

A sort of mini traditional Burmese village on the edge of the city. Traditional rooms with lots of teak wood. I would agree with reviewers who say that the hotel is in need of refurbishment - it is not actually seedy, but could easily become so if they do not step up maintenance . You get a voucher for a...

This was an excellent hotel with well appointed rooms, courteous and very helpful staff, good and plentiful food, and all in a quiet, unhurried atmosphere. Couldn't think of a better place to stay and relax after a busy day sightseeing in Mandalay! Strongly recommend.

The Resort was located in downtown Mandalay city. The hotel buildings were constructed with abundant use of teak and precious woods with expert carpentry works. Wood sculptures (human size) decorated all the place. Different restaurants (Chinese, Japanese, Western) and bars. Evening local puppet shows and traditional Myanmar dances nightly. Recommended to stay.

We were impressed by the beautiful setting, luxurious accommodations and gracious hospitality. We saw amazing sunsets every evening from this hotel, yet is is located centrally and close to most the popular destinations.

Mandalay is a noisy, crowed, dusty city with plenty of interesting sights. But, at the end of the day it was incredibly nice to go back to the Mandalar Resort. Self contained on lovely tropical grounds. The restaurant and food were 5 star and the service excellent. The rooms were spacious and clean. All had air-conditioning and heat as well...

Beautiful and spacious, the Rupar Mandalay is, as others suggest, a beautiful oasis in Mandalay. The indoor and exterior spaces are generous, beautiful, and calming. The rooms have high ceilings and are highly luxurious. The pool and restaurant areas are charming and the spa is simply gorgeous.

Mandalay was hot and dusty and this hotel provided the calm ,refreshing sanctuary we required. Friendly staff, nice big rooms and pretty gardens. Good breakfast to set you up for the day. Drinks at the bar were delicious and puppet show width watching.

This was a nice local style hotel. The rooms were wooden walls but had good lighting. Our only disappointment is that we had a tub/shower combo - the first hotel that did not have a separate shower. The rooms are clean and beds comfy - not that large but a good size - two chairs and a table and quite...
