Your basic 2/3* hotel. Spotlessly clean room, the deluxe, a good size, a/c, fridge, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, safe and a TV we didn't try. Breakfast was a buffet combination of Asian and Western choices. For Western tastes, orange juice, choice of cereals, choice of eggs made to order, baked beans, chopped sausages and breads and fruit. Basic but enough for a decent start to the day.
The rooftop pool was pleasant, a reasonable view, 12 sunbeds usually full mid afternoon with a drinks and food service. ATM literally outside the front door. Friendly staff made this a good choice for a central hotel.

I will rate this hotel as EXCELLENT. It is centrally located with a lot of restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel room is nice , beautiful, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is reasonably good, delicious and restaurant staff are very attentive to the needs of the guest.
One reason that this hotel becomes a stand out and a reason to return to this hotel is the kindness of the front desk man, Aung Kyaw Moe. Arriving too early from Inle, he let me stay in hotel lobby and gave me coffee while waiting for an early check in. He gave me a very good room that really impressed me. When i checked out, he even booked a grab tuktuk and changed my money smaller bills to pay for the fare. This is the kind of gesture and attitude which is understanding the needs of the guest that this hotel a standout for me

The hotel is ok, the breakfast is good and the staff is helpful.

The best is Mr. Starskey that stays in front of the hotel and can help with tips and any kind of transport that you need. For example, we went to Bagan from Mandalay with him and his price was for sure the best in Mandalay. His number is +95 9 40262 1963, highly recommend Mr Starskey.

Very good traditional hotel with a quirky 2 lift system to get to different wings of the hotel or the roof top pool and bar. Nice room with good bathroom. There is a street market outside the hotel every day which starts about 7am so don't expect any late lie-ins. Good choice at breakfast and resonable food at dinner during which a very entertaining cultural show is staged every night. Perfect location for sight seeing trips.

Cons: The rooms are really old and the hotel generally feels run down. The rooms don’t have mosquito-nets, which is a problem since there is both malaria, Zika and dengue in Myanmar. We got a lot of mosquito bites, and it is hard to sleep with mosquitoes bussing around your heads.

Pros: The staff is nice and helpful and the location is good (but busy). And the rooms are clean - but they feel scruffy because the decor and furniture is old.

Rooms 701 and 702 right by the elevator and lobby were not ideal; a little noisy. Great view from the laid-back pool on the 7th floor overlooking the city. The hotel had a marionette show at the 6th floor restaurant that was very average. Dinner at 6th floor restaurant; my daughter had a very average ‘beef’ burger and fries. My wife and I shared a spaghetti carbonara which was better than average, but not a 4. Decent house red wine, and a banana milkshake. Breakfast at hotel is on the 6th floor restaurant. Scrambled eggs, toast, oj and a danish. Everything else was geared toward a Chinese breakfast. Decent, but not great. Still, overall this hotel was a 4.

We had "the best room in the house" which whilst big and nice touches was so badly finished off. Don't bother with balcony and get a high up room. It is right by a market so early noise.
However all staff are super friendly and efficient, breakfast OK, and the rooftop pool made up for any down side.. Overall good value for money.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel and all of the staff were welcoming and friendly. We arrived the hotel earlier than check-in time. The front desk is very helpful with Transportations and will provide you with flight,bus/Boat times and prices, will book for you if necessary also.In particular Thet Swe Win was exceptionally helpful and friendly, went out of his way with suggestions of what to see around the Mandalay and arrange the taxis for these tours.
Thank You very much for all of your help!

There is a nightly show on the floor below the rooftop pool and bar, in the main restaurant. Its mostly traditional music and the puppet show. I think it was about 7.30pm (don't trust me on that) and went for an hour or so. So no problem for sleeping I wouldn't think.

What is the current cost for airport transport?

When I arrived the money changers were all closed and there was a line up at the ATM. The taxi touts were relentless in hassling everyone - it was the last flight of the night so they knew we were at their mercy. For a shared taxi we paid 6 dollars each. The hotel will arrange for a pick up and I arranged my return to the airport with them but sorry I cant recall what they charged - I want to say 12 dollars.
