The reviews and photos don't lie - this is a friendly, helpful, family run establishment.Everything is great about Peacock lodge except one thing, the mosquitoes coming from the water at the back of the property. It might be a delightful lotus filled pond during the rainy season but it was little more than a fetid black murky drainage pond when...

Stayed for 3 nights, the lodge was full and we were given a deluxe room at no extra cost, thanks! As in most of SE Asia the bed was very firm and very comfortable, clean and modern bathroom, good hot shower. The owners and all of the staff were great, extremely helpful and friendly, organised a motor scooter for us...

Thanks for being so inclusive and including guests in your own New Year's Eve (off-site) celebrations - a terrific touch. Great personal cooking class - worth taking! They offer bicycles to help one get around. Enjoyable food, which includes offers of traditional breakfasts as well as Western breakfasts. They arranged a sight seeing tour. There are mosquitos here, so bring...

My wife and I stayed for three nights and the accommodation is very nice. Technically it is a home stay as the family live on the premises however the hotel has nine rooms. We had a double room and the furniture, size and bathroom facilities were all good. The breakfast is served in the garden and was the normal Myanmar...

Good value, clean, accommodating and friendly. Stayed 3 nights with our 9 year old and we felt 'at home'. Good location to walk to Mandalay Hill - we spent half day doing this and walking back along the moat at dusk was lovely.

We have thoroughly enjoyed 4 nights (two separate stays) at the Peacock Lodge this week. A small operation (9 rooms), it is adjacent to the family residence of hosts Suu Kyi and Tun in a residential area approx. 2 km from the Royal Place. Dining is under lovely shade trees and the food was excellent -- a variety of Myanmar...

Charming lodge on a quiet street. Everyone is friendly and helpful. If you want to get a massage, find a local driver for sightseeing, get local tours or tickets for the boat to Bogon, the staff will take care for you. The courtyard is inviting and the food tasty.

General: Mandalay was our first stop in Myanmar and the Peacock Lounge was a great way to start it off. We stayed 4 nights, it was wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly, spoke good English, and the property was charming. The homemade breakfast was fantastic and the traditional Burmese dinner was delicious. Room: We stayed in room 109 which was...

Smallish property, but with nice, private, reasonably-spacious rooms, easy to find and close to restaurants, the Palace (maybe half a mile – easy walking distance), and Mandalay Hill (maybe 1-2 miles away; a nice walk for us, but maybe far for anyone not particularly fit; then an easy taxi ride). Clean room, good breakfast. Wifi wasn’t working when we were...
