I don't understand the term 'Resort' in the context of Mandalay Hill. Its not a bad 4 star hotel where I recently stayed for 3 nights. Front reception staff were a little uneven in their performance, mainly linked to their English capability. But in times of misunderstanding they thankfully found some-one who was comfortable with English. I had a couple...

This hotel is old and showing signs of wear and tear. Despite this it has charm and character. Nice touch at check-in with the capsicum juice. The rooms are large and spotless. Perfectly functional. Great view of mandalay hill. The buffet breakfast is faultless. Ate at the BBQ dinner with the show which was great as was the menu at...

Stayed for one night prior to a trip down The Irrawaddy river. Nice friendly staff and nice room. Hotel is at the bottom of Mandalay Hill which is worth a visit. Good bar and restaurant - had buffet evening meal and breakfast which was good. Hotel is a little far from the main part on Mandalay.

Hotel is in a good location but as it is so large it gets lots of ' in and out' bus tours. The staff were pleasant and everything was clean and functional but certainly not 5 star or a resort in the true sense of the word. Health treatments were expensive by Asian standards and $32 for the evening buffet...

The hotel is a bit impersonal - it gets big tour groups daily - who stay two nights on average and the breakfast buffet can be a zoo. We had a snack in the restaurant one day and did not want to repeat it - the food was not fresh and the table was dirty. But the bar was good...

We were pleasantly surprised. Reading recent reviews we were prepared to be underwhelmed. Previous reviewers had mentioned long waits for lifts and unfriendly staff but we found staff particularly friendly and we never had more than a moment’s wait for a lift to arrive. On one occasion a staff member was concerned that a power outage would trap us in...

Spa villa is gorgeous , I was suprise when I visit there at night. The pool side was nice as well, walking around the spa villa and pool side is enjoyable experiences. Dinner buffet is good choice but the Ming restaurant's food quality is bad.

Nice hotel, with comfortable rooms overlooking the pool area and the skyline of Mandalay Hill with its Stupa and Pagodas and greenery. Bathroom a little too small but ample for our stay. All the staff were very welcoming and polite. The breakfasts and dinners in the restaurant were excellent with a great variety of Eastern and Western cuisine Would recommend...

The hotel is located in a beautiful location at the bottom of Mandalay hill in ancient Mandalay. Upon entering the hotel we were pleasantly surprised: nice and airy lobby. Check in was prompt, but that was were all the positives ended. Noticed other guests receiving a welcome drink: ours was forgotten. A nicely dressed lady accompanied us to our room,...

This very grand building is, in fact, a bed factory. Inside and upstairs the whole thing feels tired, and although we were comfortable, it could do with a face lift. Outside, by the pool it all looks gorgeous. The gardens are lovely, but then you look back at the hotel, and it seems a little grim. The food in the...
