To each staff member we dealt with (Thinzar, Yudana, Kywa Zin, Nu, Nwae Yu, Thwin Nyi and anyone else I inadvertently left off), we thank you for your thoughtful, ten steps ahead of us and ever friendly assistance. Whether tickets, price info, human map info, taxi help, bicycle seat heights, juice upon exhaustion, or accommodation of early arrivals/departures....your graciousness, smiles, and accurate information took service to a new level. My husband and I have visited 60+ countries. We decided the service here at Hotel 8 topped any we have received elsewhere at five times the cost. Keep doing what you do. Excellent A/C, hot water, towels, linens. Well located. We will look no further when we return to Mandalay.

As a young couple travelling through South East Asia on a budget, we didn't have very extravagant expectations when we booked one night at 8 Hotel. However, upon arrival we were greeted warmly with our names displayed in the lobby (which admitetly was a little bit special, but nontheless attentive) and offered orange juice. The staff made an overall positive impression, eg they all spoke English, were helpful, provided city information, and everyone was incredibly kind.
Our double room overlooked a modestly busy street which seemed empty and silent at night. The bathroom was very clean, so were our bed sheets and the room all together. It's definitely not a designer- or boutique hotel, but it provides all utilities needed, including working wifi (even in our room). We ordered room service which was also on point, the food delicious, the service impecable. We would recommend this place to anyone appreciating friendly personell, clean rooms and good service. Thanks Hotel 8.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay at Hotel 8. The rooms were spacious and surprisingly affordable for a good location in Mandalay, close to the royal attractions and easy enough to head downtown.

Above all, the staff stood out for their helpfulness and kindness. From their excellent advice and recommendations, to their organisational skills, and their letting us use a shower after we'd checked out - they were everything we needed. Special mention should go to Kyaw Zin Thet, who helped us out with every opportunity he got.

Great experience, thanks!

Lovely experience in the heart of downtown Mandalay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop was atmospheric and memorable and the hotel was close to many great restaurants. However, our room window was small and overlooked the side of another building, but we were fine with this given that we were staying only a couple nights. If you're walking, note that the hotel is a bit of a hike to the Royal Palace entrance and the Su Taung Pyae Pagoda.

Very friendly and professional hotel. Everything clean and nothing broken as in most South East Asian hotels. Flat screen tvs with English channels. Helpful staff arranged motorbike and my onward journey to Bagan. This hotel far exceeds my usual standard of hotel at a price that is lower than a what I usually pay. Excellent hotel

Clean well located hotel. Comfortable clean spacious room. Front desk staff are welcoming and ready to help. This hotel offers great value. Breakfast offerings are both Asian and western included in your great value rate. Free loan of Bicycles is great for getting around it may feel a bit daunting at first but we survived the traffic of Mandalay and had a great experience. Hotel close to one of the best markets I have ever encountered wander the streets and you will be rewarded with a lasting memory.

Hotel is in the central location of Mandalay. Room is fine with basic amenities. Buffet breakfast includes the standard items that makes you feel full for a morning. You can rent their bicycle to go around and it's free of charge. Staff is friendly in general. If you are budget traveler this is a good value hotel for you.

small newly built hotel in city center. thus, the rooms are very badly insulated. noisy!!!! had a room on the first floor just above reception (you could hear every single word spoken), and on the ground floor locals partying well into the night. a nice breakfast was served on a rooftop terrace.

Bear in mind that this is a very affordable hotel. I don't think a visit to Mandalay is one where you will stay in your hotel or for that matter, to spend much time in the city itself. So, you just need somewhere comfortable to sleep and to have good service and advice available - and this is Hotel 8. The hotel recommended a driver whom we used for two days and he took is to all the main sites. The breakfast was adequate and the staff wonderful.
