We are a beautiful boutique hotel with a personal touch, located on the tip of the peninsula, at the very end of the old town, on the UNESCOs World Heritage Area. The view you have from the rooms and Café/Restaurant is the meeting of great Mekong River and Nam Khan River. The Hotel is quiet and peaceful with the beautiful former Royal temple Wat Xiengthong as your neighbor. Please note that our Pool/Spa is closed until further notice.

This has to be one of the finest Hotels in Luang Probang. situated alongside the Mekong River. We were welcomed by Noi and his ever willing staff, who all spoke excellent English. Our large, very accommodating suite was well furnished complete with walk in shower, separate toilet, and spacious balcony with river views. A substantial breakfast is available at their Viewpoint Cafe where one can take in views of the confluence of The Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers. Also on offer are their EV's to shuttle guests around town, and a airport p/u delivery service. Our stay of 7 days was most enjoyable and we hope to experience their grand hospitality again in the future.

I have stayed many times in Mekong Riverview Hotel, this property is excellent in every department. The location is ideal, at the end of the Luang Prabang peninsula, in the historical part of town, so all the sights are in walking distance. Great views of both Mekong and Namkahn Rivers. The style is traditional Luang Prabang architecture/aesthetic, but all new so everything is beautiful and functional. Rooms are huge and very comfortable, beautifully furnished. The staff are all great, friendly, extremely helpful and speak fluent English. Breakfast is a fantastic treat, the restaurant overlooks the river, and the offering are vast, the same restaurant also open for lunch and dinner. Hotel offers free airport pickup and transportation around town by electric vehicle.

We had stayed here 12 years ago. We stayed again because of our fond memories of the staff, the comfy rooms, and the location. The location can’t be beat for sure - in a quiet spot near the confluence of the Mekong and the Nam Khan river. Our room was clean - but there was cracks in the door and the windows didn’t line up to close fully, which led to us all getting mosquito bites one night. The shower was also quite mildewed-needed a bleach touch up. The breakfast was subpar - we went the first morning and the bread selection included a baguette and croissants, while the yogurts were not refrigerated and kept in ice that had mostly melted. Juice and fruit were hot. After the second morning, we ate at Banneton and were much happier with the selection and quality (extremely inexpensive). The restaurant also was littered with empty beer bottles at breakfast and staff ignored it. We sent out our laundry at one point, but it come back still with dirt stains or even more dirty than it had been. The hotel did not end up charging us for it, though. The golf cart that ferried us short distances last time had been sold. No more fresh cakes available for guests to have a slice in the lobby. As for the front desk staff - the last time we were there, staff were bustling around and engaged us in friendly conversation. This time, we only came across three employees in the reception area during five nights. They were friendly enough and did arrange for us to take a sunset cruise and for a great driver. But whether it was because of low season, the owner being away in Sweden, or the Covid aftermath, the hotel was lacking overall - especially considering the very high price we paid by any standard (190 USD a night). We will definitely be coming back to Laos and LP, but I think we will be trying another hotel next time.

Sabaidee, first of all, we would like to thank you for your return visit to Luang Prabang and Mekong Riverview Hotel. It is always such a pleasure to welcome guests back and we are grateful to hear about your fond memories. On behalf of all the team we would like to apologize for the inconveniences that occurred during this time of your visit and we feel sad to hear that your experience makes you reconsider your next stay with us. We wish you had told us about the cracks in the doors and windows, we would have loved to offer you a different room. Since our rooms have a lot of wooden elements, little movements can happen especially during the humid season when the air pressure changes; if we see that happen, we'll get it fixed immediately as of course we don't want our guests to be disturbed by mosquitos! Your description of the breakfast situation lead us to talk to our kitchen team and assess the circumstances and we promise to improve immediately! Please also be informed that we are currently assembling new electrical carts, unfortunately they were not ready yet at the time of your visit. But for sure we want to continue offering this service to our guests. For the laundry, we are following up on this; since this has never happened before it will be our first priority to make sure it's a one time occurrence. Our sincerest apologies again. As for the staff situation, you are correct that we currently have less staff, which is partly because of the low season and partly because of the still ongoing recovery of the pandemic. Rest assured that our staff are highly committed to helping our guests and are always open for any question, wish or complaint. Kind regards, Mekong Riverview Hotel

Tucked away but within easy walking distance of the old town (UNESCO World Heritage site), Mekong Riverside offers a peaceful retreat from the many tourists. It is situated at the tip of the peninsular offering beautiful views across the Mekong. Their restaurant offers an excellent buffet restaurant and staff are friendly. Frre bycycles too! Mekong Riverview is a charming, boutique hotel in the perfect location. The hotel is so close to the main street and the incredible temples of Luang Prabang. But it is also tucked away next to the Mekong so it was very quiet and peaceful. Arriving during the post-COVID recovery, Luang Prabang has not reached peak tourism numbers and the hotel offered a free upgrade (a really nice touch). The room was super spacious and the views to the Mekong are second to none. The breakfast was great with both al la carte Asian and Western options - with another gorgeous view of the Nam Kam feeding into the Mekong. Noi was super friendly and made my stay seamless, including the complementary airport transfers. Other team members are knowledgable, but I did receive some inaccurate information about the public boat to Pak Ou (which is understandable given the dynamic situation directly after reopening. Mekong Riverview is an excellent choice in Luang Prabang.

Sabaidee, many thanks for staying with us at Mekong Riverview Hotel and for leaving this lovely review! We are so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your time here and how much you appreciated our free room upgrade. You are right about the post-covid recovery phase - some public services or means of transport can still be a bit unreliable at times, or else it might also have had to do with the ongoing celebrations of Lao New Year during these weeks. Anyway we apologize for the inaccurate information given to you and we'll make sure to check up on that specific information to avoid any inconveniences with future guests - thank you for pointing it out. Thank you again and happy travels! Mekong Riverview Hotel

Unfortunately I had an accident while in Luang Prababg. This could not be dealt with as local medical facilities are pitifully inadequate. The staff could not have been more helpful while I was waiting for a resolution. We were given a more suitable room and they took phone calls from the insurance company. Food was brought to our room . They were very solicitous. Thank you everyone. The hotel is in a lovely position. Very peaceful and it has a great restaurant overlooking the river. A nice place to stay.

The hotel staff were proactive in offering transportation from the train station & our driver was punctual & polite. Upon arrival & and check-in, hotel staff were very friendly & and professional-who offered us a map of LP and pointed out all places of interest; bicycles are also available to use for exploring around town. The actual hotel is quaint and lovely, located overlooking the beautiful riverside, we chose not to have a riverside room, but our standard room was wonderful, comfortable, clean, and offered all we needed. We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel restaurant overlooking the river & also offered a peaceful morning while having your breakfast. The general location of the hotel is relaxed & central enough to be able to stroll around & explore the hazy streets of Luang Prabang.

This place is so special. Best choice we have made so far. Room was absolutely beautiful with vanished teak wood and old world charm. Staff went out of their way to provide the best service ever and were very knowledgable and friendly. So close to all major attractions you can walk or use the free bikes. Breakfast at viewpoint cafe was tasty and the view spectacular. Couldn't be more pleased
