The owners, Peter and Manichan, are kind, very knowledgeable about the area and go above and beyond the call of duty for their guests. It was very busy in Luang Prabang when we were there and many travellers were looking for somewhere to stay...and even when Manichan Guest House was full (and it is always FULL!!) I saw Peter taking...

Basic in many ways but Peter and Manichan were super hosts and couldn't help you enough. Their breakfast is huge and especially good are their home made jams. They arranged our elephant trip and their location is not far away from the main drag but yet far enough away so as to be a quiet retreat - especially their patio...

The initial booking process with Peter via e-mail was efficient and he organized the pickup from the airport without any glitch. Peter can organize several activities for you, incl. visit to Elephant village, to Kuang Si and Tad Sae falls. We found very useful his services to purchase bus/minivan tickets to the next destination, and he can also help you...

Thank you for this positive review. I would just like to inform the reader that our hot shower is always working, at least when I come to check it!! There is absolutely no karaoke bar behind the guesthouse. In the whole town there is not even one karaoke bar. It's just a neighbor who liked to play his music during...

We stayed here for over a week in two separate stints in this busy guesthouse. Staying in the old city in Luang Prabang is highly recommended as most things to see are located here, as well as restaurants, markets and travel companies, and it is just a nice place to wander. Manichan is very conveniently located in the old city,...

First of all, we thank you for all the pros that you've written about and for all the fantastic reviews that we've had before from our beloved guests. But, I feel that we should write some response to this review as I find it quite unbelievable that you have used one towel for 6 days!!! How could you except that...

We spent only one night at Manichan. Pros: good location (but Luang Prabang is small so everywhere is good) and excellent breakfast. Cons: I don't understand why other reviewers praise the atmosphere at manichan guesthouse. We were greeted as intruders on arrival, the owner made us feel very unwelcomed. Finally the room we had was not very clean. After this...

I, Peter, feel truly sorry that you had me probably on a very, very bad mood when you checked in. My wife keeps complaining about it!!! I work 7 days a week, from 6am to late in the evening and things might go wrong sometimes. Manichan Guesthouse would not be the same with an impersonal receptionist... so all my guest...

This guesthouse makes you love Luang Prabang even more. You will definitely find your yourself stayed longer than planned. Superb and excellent service, staffs, location, cleanliness, and common area. Got a private room with bathroom for myself. After a long tiring 2 days slow boat journey from Thailand. :) The owner, Mr Peter was really friendly and helpful. Please stay...

We stayed five nights at this delightful old French Colonial guest house. It is on a quiet side street convenient to everything in Luang Prabang - half a block from the Mekong River and close to markets, temples, restaurants, shops and bicycle rentals. Manichan, the young Laotian woman after whom the place is named, is a fine host, speaks passable...

This review is quiet late but I have to write it to share our wonderful experience at Guesthouse Manichan. We booked two rooms directly on their website and and Peter, the owner, confirmed our booking by e-mail. He gave us valuable information about Luang Prabang even before our arrival in Luang Prabang. The property is located near the National Mueum...

The best part about Manichan Guesthouse is the hospitality. Peter was very friendly and helpful, always up for chatting or offering recommendations for our time in Luang Prabang and Laos in general. The courtyard makes for a very communal atmosphere, so we enjoyed eating breakfast with other guests and meeting travelers from around the world. Breakfast was tasty - fresh...

We stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast which was served on a large table outside - a great space to meet other guests and chat! Peter helped us organise fantastic trips to the elephant village, Xiang Si and Tad Sae waterfalls. The location is great, with...
