So, this was the place I was most looking forward to staying on my trip with my wife to Laos and I could not have been more disappointed and shocked at how bad it was. Now, I have travelled a lot through India, Indonesia, Thailand and Laos and I have stayed in places from the most basic of shacks to...

Villa Merry 1 is a guest house. I read some reviews and honestly I'm not sure what people are expecting for $25 (approximately)/night. Is it the Four Seasons? Of course not. But it is a perfectly cute place on the river, with a great location to wander the town and friendly and helpful staff. If you need a tour, transfer,...

I stayed at Villa Merry in the month of January. It is a beautiful little guest house about 10minutes walk into town (and just around the corner from utopia!). It is run by an American and Australian. Both Suzie and Rachael were very helpful and were able to give you some good pointers on what and where to go in...

Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights. We knew we wanted a place close to town, which meant sacrificing certain amenities (the only luxury/higher-end options are located in the hills 20 minutes drive out of town). At Villa Merry 1, the price was right and we got what we paid for, which is to say a safe, clean...

I arrived in Luang Prabang not expecting much in way of accommodation quality, but was pleasantly surprised when I turned up here to a clean room, working refrigerator and television, with friendly, English-speaking staff. The double bed (in Room 6) I got was comfortable and just what I felt like after a few flights. Liked this place so much, I...

Firstly can I start by stating I don't write bad reviews from spite but from experience ; experience of staying in a variety of properties around the world from luxury to budget. We paid through Expedia for an 8 day stay. We paid £17 per night and the money was taken out of my account on booking. If this hadn't...

We were upgraded twice after arriving here, and ended up in a room with a river view balcony. It was amazing, I could've sat out there all day! The Australian lady who greeted us was so helpful, and went out of her way to make us welcome, and to familiarise us with the town. WiFi was a little hit and...

My wife and I with our two children of 6 & 8 stayed here for 2 weeks. We had initially booked for one week but ended up staying 2. With rooms from 15/20$ for standard doubles and twins to family rooms, deluxe twins and deluxe doubles @ 60$ this place has something for everyone . All the rooms have ac,...

What a lovely place to use as a base to explore Luang Prabang. Friendly, helpful and informed staff. We had a lovely clean and well presented AC room with balcony and great river view. The guesthouse is a bit out of the way from the historic heart of the town but transport is easy and cheap if you haggle.

Stayed here for two nights and we couldn't ask for anymore from the hotel. Room was a very good size and the bed was very comfy after traveling 20+ hours on buses from Chaing Mai. The breakfast was unreal at this place, try the pancakes with mango inside and the apple jam which is homemade and is really relaxing looking...
