Glamorous rooms, all with their own veranda or terrace. Connected to the town centre by our own boat, the Apsarian Queen, it’s easy to get right into the heart of town. You can spend the morning going to the temples, shopping or just exploring the side lanes and an afternoon in luxurious idleness by the pool. We also have bicycles and our own tuk-tuk available for guests' use.

This is a beautiful hotel with big guest rooms tastefully furnished. There is a big comfortable bed, a bathroom with a walk in rain forest shower & a seperate deep bath. There is also a large balcony overlooking the river.
However there are two hotels with the Apsara name (same owner) and this one is on the opposite bank to the town of Luang Prabang. It is more upmarket of the two.
There is a nice restaurant at the hotel with a limited selection. There is next to no other dining options near the hotel.
To get to the main town for the sites & restaurants is a bit of a slug. In the dry season there are large number of steep steps to walk down (& I mean large number)to a small hotel boat which brings you across to the other side. And then another large climb up an equally large number of steep steps. And repeat to get back to the hotel.
Staff are helpful and friendly. There is free wifi throughout although can be a bit patchy at times. And breakfast was included in my room rate which was tasty.
But the hotel has a lovely pool and a beautiful setting so it’s a nice place to relax and chill.

Lovely stylish hotel with fantastic service. As there are only a few rooms, the manager Peehan and his staff provide a really friendly personal service with great restaurant recommendations and a free taxi on demand service to and from the town centre (as current river bank works mean the hotel can’t provide its usual boat transport). Appreciated being a little away from the busy town centre. Delicious breakfast with fresh ingredients and excellent coffee. Spacious room, authentically decorated with a very comfortable bed. Particularly enjoyed the private terrace looking out over the river. Clean, good sized pool is perfect for a dip at the end of the day.
Two minute walk to the excellent Dyen Sabai restaurant, so can eat very well locally as well as in the centre of town.
Would definitely choose to stay here again.

Apsara Rive Droite is located across the river from the main town. For older people, getting down to the river via rickety stairs may be an issue so they will not be able to use the cute river boat to cross river to get to the main part of town.
The room was clean, quiet: a few things needed tinkering with but eventually worked (safe, warm water from shower).
Mr Han, the manger is the nicest manager I've ever met. Once, when kitchen was closed, he cooked a simple dinner for me. Their breakfast was the best I had on my trip : fantastic warm bread, great mangoes.
Dont get confused between this hotel and the other Apsara - that one is in the main town and although has better convenience, it was too loud for me and I changed to this one. This one is 4 stars whereas the other one is 3 stars. Christopher, the manager, used his own car to help me move and even let me drop by the ATM to get some money so that was very nice of him. There was construction going on so be aware of that.

Apsara Rive Droite is a home away from home. Located on the quieter side of the river, the hotel is a sanctuary in Luang Prabang. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with a lovely Laos aesthetic. And did I mention how comfortable the King size bed was. We had a big private balcony with a day bed for reading on the afternoon. The pool is long enough for a few laps and the breakfast by the pool is delicious. This small hotel has a wonderful team of dedicated staff, led by the incomparable Han, who seems to know what you want before you do yourself. Thank you to Ivan also for his personal driver experience.

We have stayed for 4 nights. This hotel makes you feel like royalty in luang prabang. From the private little boat that takes you back and forth across the river into the main part of town. The attention to detail grounds (like cute hats to use while at the pool), they do it right. The breakfast includes a chicken pho option that was delicious and the coffee is excellent.
The staff cater to your every need. Mr. Han, Tick, and the manager Christopher will help you enjoy your time. We would love to come back here again and stay on the 2nd floor so we can see the river.

We loved our stay at Apsara. Peehan was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for him. He was one of the highlights of our 3 week holiday. The rooms are lovely. We were overlooking the pool and river. Due to the construction on the river the boat went operating but Peehan organised taxis for us whenever we needed, at his expense.

a lovely property with the most amazing staff especially the manager Mr Peehann.
Start with the property which was lovely, comfortable and clean with decent sized rooms. The hotel prepared a breakfast each morning with eggs but local pho was available. Additionally the coffee saffron was excellent.
The property has a great pool where one can relax and even the cross river boat isn't running and there was no bamboo bridge - the hotel arranged a free taxi into town every day.
As mentioned the staff were excellent - Mr Peehann went above and beyond every day - so much so that he even accompanied me to a local bank when I lost my card in the ATM one night.
I cannot think of a hotel with better service.
As a bonus the area around the hotel is quiet but a few nice bars and place s to eat nearby if you do not fancy town.
we even ate in the hotel one evening - the food was great - local lao vegetarian
Would stay here again and highly recommended.

all through covid incarceration I would dream of being back here and living in luxury again. I managed it and it was as wonderful as I had hoped. The rooms are huge
and look great, the gardens are even more lush and the staff just as helpful and welcoming. The small boat was still there waiting to take me across to the temples and back for a long swim with a cool beer.. It was quite simply just lovely.

Staying here at The APSARA RIVE DROITE was just wonderful. The room is spacious and the linens are very comfortable. The breakfast was just lovely since I don’t eat much. Having a coffee near by the garden and the swimming pool was so relaxing. The service is great and thank you thank the Manager - Mr PeeHan for the great hospitality. He is so kind to arrange a parking space for us. We look forward to staying at this property again in the future.

My husband and I had booked a 3 night stay at this hotel, based on positive reviews on trip advisor. What a disappointment!!!!!! We ended up leaving the same day of arrival.
The nightmare started on the way from the airport. The final stretch to the hotel was over a bumpy dirt road through not the most desirable neighborhood. Made us think, how can anyone use the free bikes to go anywhere???? The only real access to town was by boat.
This is where the major problem that made us leave occurred!!!! The numerous steps down to the river would have been okay ( we are fit and very active) if they would have been properly constructed. The steps have been made, literally, by cutting into the ground and placing a piece of wood to hold the groung on each step. It doesn't end here... There was no dock, so we had to jump from the river bank into the canoe. We tried to remain positive and made the crossing to the other side. On the way back from town, the situation became real interesting!!!! When we arrived on the hotel's side of the river we had to jump from the boat to the river bank, which was very crumbly. Miraculously, we did not fall in the river.
We became very concerned of how this ordeal would be at night in the dark and decided to leave!
A hotel that charges $ 200 a night in Luang Prabang should have a decent and SAFE dock!!! When we were there, we were the only guests. Also, for this price there were no tea/coffee making facilities, no hair conditioner or body lotion provided either ( standard at almost any hotel).
Definitely, WOULD NOT recommend this overrated hotel to anyone!! Do yourself a favor and stay in any of the many wonderful boutique hotels in town. See our review of beautiful Villa Santi Hotel.
