Travelled with my parents to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Stayed 3 nights at The Luang Say Residences and the stay was nothing short of amazing! Our first time in Laos and Santhi and his team made our first trip to Laos a memorable one.
Lar was the supervisor whom we interacted most with during our stay and he was warm, genuine & extremely hospitable. His service was professional, attentive and not at all intrusive.
The hotels & guesthouses available in Luang Prabang are aplenty and range frm USD 30 to 1,000 a night. Competitive accommodation market and the Luang Say isn’t cheap but the beautiful hotel and excellent service staff justifies the rate it commands. We included daily breakfast during our stay and being Asians preferred the Asian menu where they serve Laotian mains like congee, fried rice, friend noodles etc. The hotel also provides shuttle to the city in the evenings but was very accommodating to arrange for shuttle out of the stipulated timings.
Mosquitoes are a problem in Luang Prabang and we were greeted by a couple of them when we settled down on the sofa while waiting for check-in at the hotel. The room had many mosquitoes too but the hotel is very sweet to do turndown service nightly to get rid of mosquitoes to the best of their ability. They also provide insect repellent which was fantastic as we had forgotten to bring it along given that our country isn’t infested with mosquitoes like Laos. We do have dengue in our country hence were a little alarmed by the number of mozzies we saw in Laos. Interestingly, we didn’t get bitten much. Might be that the insect repellent provided by the hotel worked or that the mozzies were mainly male hence didn’t sting. We did spray the repellent on the bed linens nightly before we slept as extra precaution although the hotel also had the wall plug which didn’t have any scent so not quite sure if the wall plug was effective in repelling mozzies.
We will definitely recommend to stay at the Luang Say if your budget allows. The attention to details really impressed us as Laos isn’t quite developed so we weren’t expecting such excellent service that one will usually expect of good class hotels in developed countries.

Probably one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at - service and facilities were outstanding.
You could pay less and be happy elsewhere in Luang Prabang, which has a huge selection of accommodation, but for a bit of luxury this place would be hard to beat.
Breakfast excellent (lovely to eat on the veranda, service great), rooms extremely comfortable, peaceful and worked well. Shuttle to town useful.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel can organise everything for you from transfers to trips (with a price tag but it’ll be well executed and easy) or if you explain you like to do things yourself and they will give advice - also info/trips freely available on google/in town.
There is a supermarket/some restaurants 5-10 mins walk away or the town shuttle of the main town. Main town is around 40min walk or so.
We would recommend this hotel, it’s very good!

It was a brief 3 days and 2 nights stay in this lovely luxury boutique hotel. It was like transporting back in time, living in the ultimate experience of kings and queens in this French colonial architecture. From the start, the staffs are very friendly and making us feel as if we were a part of their family members, with their attention to detail, enthusiasm, and humbleness.
About the room, it was very-well maintained, and clear of dust. The bed was comfortable, also the hotel offers quite a good selection of pillow to suite our preferences. The amenities offered are reasonable, however, I do feel like the body lotion has a rather strange smell to it.
At Luang Say Residence, here they offer à la carte breakfast with a pretty good range of Asian, Western, and vegetarian dishes. And afternoon tea, well, it was a true delicacy.
Thank you very much to General Manager, Mr Francis, Room Division Manager, Mr. Santi and all the staffs: the receptionist girls, the waiters and waitresses, the drivers, the housekeeping, etc. for taking care of us. No word can describe how grateful we are to hospitalise by you all. And if I happen to visit Luang Prabang again, this is the only place I will stay. The place where I can say 'Home - The Sanctuary of Peaceful Stay.'

My wife and I were here for 3 nights and the property and service were both incredible. All the staff were attentive and very much service-focused. We were impressed by everyone but most by the girl at the front desk, Pop. She was always so helpful, friendly, and you could tell she genuinely cares for her guests.
We had breakfast here a few days and ate in town. I was able to try the Khaow Peak Sen soup which was so flavorful and really energized me for the day. I'm going to attempt to make it myself at some point, probably won't be as good, but I still am thinking about the balance of spice and taste, so good.
This hotel is outside of downtown so if you don't mind a 10-minute walk, you can get some peace and quiet and just go in when you see fit. The staff will also arrange tuk tuks for you if you'd like.
Would recommend to anyone visiting Luang Prahbang

We have stayed at numerous Small Luxury Hotels around the world. The Luang Say is a member of that group and is one of the best properties that we have stayed at. We stayed here for 5 nights in January. The staff is exceptional, friendly, and are all great ambassadors of Laos. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and do whatever they can to meet any needs you may have. The property is exceptional and very comfortable. All of the food was excellent. The rooms are ample in size and well equipped. The balcony on the 2nd floor room was spacious and provided an excellent vantage point. The property is abit away from the main town center but the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service in the evenings and frequently offered us a ride into town during the day. There are also ample easy and cheap tuk-tuk's available. We will absolutely be going back to the Luang Say again.

Very enjoyable stay including New Year's Eve.
Beautiful property with very spacious rooms and balcony, in the middle of luxuriant vegetation. Be careful not to let the mosquitos in as can become quite bothering if you don't want to use sprays..
Impeccable service with genuine smile, very practical shuttle service, free bicycles available (should equip with lights though).
Excellent breakfast using organic vegetables straight from the garden.
The New Year diner at their restaurant "La Belle Epoque" was tasty as traditionnal French cuisine, great atmosphere. Their classic style "Bar 1861" is perfect to have a little afternoon break or evening drink.
All in all, basically guaranteed to have a memorable experience in this place!

Our stay at the Luang Say Residence was absolutely incredible! The hotels grounds and gardens are very beautiful and the rooms are spacious and exquisitely decorated. The location is very close to town, only a couple of minutes by tuk tuk or the hotel’s private shuttle. Breakfast and dinner at La Belle Epoque were both excellent. The best thing without a doubt is the staff’s overall service. Everyone is so kind and attentive, always with a smile and going out of their way to make your stay truly exceptional!

Stayed as a family of 5 in Feb 2020; the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Rooms were huge and well appointed. Pool is stunning and food was also a highlight. As an aside, I was pleased to see very little plastic used - water was in glass bottles. Highly recommend

We were pick up by Ms. Pop and her colleague at the Pier in Luang Prabang. This was only the start of our stay. The pick up service was and still is amazing! SuperB! The hospitallity, the service, our room, breakfast, personel, everything is superB! Transport towards the post office. Breakfast! No bufet, but you can order what you would like to have (Western and Asian style). They arranged a scooter for us. The Residence does have bykes for their guests. The residence is outside the city centre, but Luang Prabang is not that huge, so everything is within walking distance and they have the post office shuttle bus. Special thanks too for Ms. Nang and Mr. Wat!

We stayed 2 nights in January. Loved the hotel and the really beautiful grounds. Our room was huge and really nicely appointed, with sitting areas inside and a nice terrace outside overlooking the gardens. The bathrooms were lovely and large as well. As far as the property, the pool and pool bar were both really nice, as was the main building. We enjoyed the afternoon tea and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff was very attentive. The hotel is located on a busy street a short shuttle ride from the major sights. We enjoyed being a bit removed from the backpacker center of town, and we also borrowed bikes a couple times which made getting around pretty fun. I would definitely go back to this hotel and recommend it to others.

Yes the breakfast is a la carte but there are many choices on the menu and one can order more than just one dish. While it is tasty, you can probably find authentic Lao dishes elsewhere. The Western choices are okay, nothing memorable.
Thanks for your recommendation on the boat cruise to Emma and please do allow me to mention that Luang Say operates only The Luang Say Residence and not anymore cruise services.
In our Pioneer suite we have only shower with no step, and we have the walker available for the elders people if need.
Sure, you will get good WIFI all the bed room
