Made a booking online and checked out of our other hotel to be closer to the peninsula and the Mekong River. Well, we arrived to find they had no room and did not speak any English. They hid in the back because they knew we were upset. Have traveled the world and this was as bad as it gets. Inside...

I stayed here for two nights. I booked directly through Thida in person and received an excellent rate ( This was about the 8th hotel I visited that morning, and by far the best value). I had what felt like my own little balcony area and a view of the mountains from the window. The room was beautiful with all...

Had a great stay here, large room, clean and light. The lady who owns/runs the GH speaks great English and can't do enough to help. Wifi fast(ish) and reliable. Good location, just 4 or 5 minutes walk from the Main Street and 2 minutes from the river. I'd stay here again, good value for LP.

We came to Thida Guesthouse after a long search for an affordable but cleam guesthouse in the sourrounding streets. Even if she rents it out for a higher price online, the owner gave us a huge and very clean double room for 130000 kip/night. We especially loved the modern and clean bathroom and the (hot) shower :) The only thing...

On arrival, we waited 1/2 hour for receptionist. Did not speak a word of English . Shown to a room that was dirty, had one window that might as well not have been there because the neighboring house was two feet away therefore no light could enter the room . The bathroom was moldy and smelled of feces. Most of...

Given accommodation in Luang Prabang is bad value compared to the rest of SEA this place is ok value. Good location down by the river, 10 minute walk to the main strip but there are also restaurants (of varying quality) down by the river which have lovely views. We had Room 7 at the front which had big sliding doors/windows...

Booked for 5 nights, left a deposit and went on a river cruise. On our return were given a room then told to leave and our deposit was not returned. Rude and unhelpful and disappointing. I can't express just how vulnerable this left us, late in the afternoon at Chinese new year when the town is heaving, to have to...

When we arrived at Thida at 6pm, after an 8 hour journey, the place was in darkness and there was nobody around. We eventually found a bell to ring, and after 5 minutes or so a man came out of the house opposite, waving at us and saying "No rooms! No rooms!" As we had booked ahead (through Booking.com), we...

After a night in a dump of a guest house we stumbled upon Thida, down a quiet street away from the main hustle and bustle of luang Prabang but within walking distance of all the main areas. Very friendly staff, clean spacious rooms, very quiet, good laundry service and a fair price. I would stay here again and definitely recommend...

We stayed in Thida guesthouse in one of the rooms downstairs. Our room was nice, clean and spacious with an amazing (rain)-shower. Our room had a fan, aircon and mosquito nets, but this is not the same for all the rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. We enjoyed our stay very much.

“We were given a family room even though we were just 2. The room was on the ground floor and very spacious, none of the Windows had a view but we only slept there so it didn't matter.”

“The rooms up top will likely offer more natural light, but the one below across from reception (not on the corner) is great if you like to sleep in and want darkness in the morning.”
