Moved to Phounsab after one disappointed night at another guest house around the corner (Phousy Guest House - see separate review). Had room 107 for $40 per night and stayed for six nights. Big room, efficient air conditioning, comfortable queen size bed, and a large and very clean bathroom (after one month in southeast Asia, the bed and bathroom were... More

We stayed 4 nights at this guesthouse, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. You nearly miss it on the main street but then walk into a lovely courtyard. We stayed in a back upstairs room which was quite large, very very clean, a good sized bathroom with a great shower and good AC and fly wire screens which meant we could... More

We are at present staying in Phounsab Guesthouse and are quite happy with the location (in the middle of it all, night market, ect.) the room, bed, service are great and the people are very welcoming. Rooms are large and appointed with nice teak furnishings. Wifi is good in rooms. Room is back off the busy street with a private balcony... More

Brilliant location, very central. Night markets basically at the door and close to the Mekong and Nam Khan. However, the wifi didn't work, there was no fridge, free internet or cable tv in our room (as stated on the brochure). Our room wasn't cleaned for 2 days. Once as housekeeping was off sick and the second time because we hadn't... More

The guesthouse is located right beside the evening markets, next to the museum, and is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, tour shops, and small stalls selling to the tourist market. The room was simple and small, but perfectly functional. The bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated and was of a good size. From the street front you walk to the... More

I was very pleased with my stay at the Phounsab Guesthouse during a recent visit to Luang Prabang. From the street, the entrance to the Guesthouse is one of those "blink and you miss it" places. It really doesn't look like much. You check-in and enter the PG through the dark reception area, and come out into an open-air courtyard,... More

After the initial shock of the entrance, we find our self in a small courtyard that is simply wonderful. The room is quiet nice and comfortable, there are bigger rooms for those ho wish. Free cafe/the and fruits in the morning. The staff was most agreeable. But the best feature is the fact that the hotel is in the centre... More

My room was nice and the hotel itself is beautiful and centrally located. It's quiet so you don't get woken up by chickens or monks like I've heard might happen at other hotels. The staff (including the owner) were not very friendly or helpful. Many things in my bathroom (shower head, drain, toilet, hot/cold water) were broken. I found it... More
