Great place to stay and lovely staff! Booked online through Booking.com, my first time, and so not sure what to expect... Arrived at night and were happily surprised! Laneway looked iffy but Lodge looked nice... We ended up loving this place. We had a downstairs twin room near reception, which could've been a problem but was surprisingly quiet. Great twin... This is the cutest most charming lodge! Perfect for a relaxed and charming little weekend with friends or a romantic getaway! Perfect location. Khao and Lay are very solicitous and kind. I left postcards to be sent because the post office was shut on Sundays. Lay not only was happy to do me this favour but also put in extra... More

Close to the centre and just a corner away from the morning food market! Very nice and tidy rooms and a lovely small garden. I would definitely recommend this if you don't want to stay in the buzz and prefer to spend the nights in a calm neighbourhood!

A small friendly guest house in a good location on a quiet street. The morning vegetable market & night markets both very close by - everywhere is walkable. The rooms are clean & spacious with a good sized bathroom with hot water. The Lao Lu is well priced & wifi is reasonable. Breakfast is simple - fruit, eggs & lovely crusty... More

The location of Lao Lu was great. The staff were helpful. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. The room did not have a fridge but that didn't bother us. The bathroom was clean and large. In the bathroom, they only provided 2 very small (smallest that I've ever seen) bar soap for the 3 nights that we stayed... More

The guest house is in an excellent position, in a quiet laneway between the local market and the river. It is possible to walk to all the sights in Luang Prabang town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are very clean and looked after. Very nice free breakfast included. Can recommend this guest house to all.

The Lao Lu is a charming little lodge just a few steps from the Mekong and from the morning and night market area. Yet it's quiet, no noises from traffic or people. Service is good, helpful and (f course here in LuangPrabang) smiling. Take good care of where you leave what in your room, as staff is poorly if at... More

We stumbled upon the Lao Lu Lodge when we arrived in Luang Prabang and were headed towards another guesthouse we had read about. The staff were extremely welcoming and the rates were fair. It was a basic twin bedroom setup but clean and had a homey touch. The small details like the patterned bathroom sink and timber finishings coupled perfectly... More

Lao Lu Lodge has everything you need at a very low price (from an American standpoint). We stayed in late August and while the weather was hot and humid, we were spared the torrential downpours. We stayed in room 104, which is on the ground level. It has one queen sized bed, private bathroom, and AC. While it's pretty basic,... More
