My husband and I just completed a three night stay at Myban Lao as part of our Odyssey Tour of Southeast Asia. In addition to all of the positive aspects noted in other reviews…all of which are 100% accurate, I have to express our gratitude to the hotel staff in supporting us in crisis. My husband became ill in the middle of the night and needed medical attention (something NOONE should need in Laos)! The bellman woke up, drove us to the “best” option available, interpreted for us and refused payment. The next morning a manager helped figure out better care. It all worked and turned out fine. But I can’t commend or thank the staff…from bellboy to food service to managers….enough.
Plus, the grounds, the rooms, the food, the service are all 5 star.
Thank you to Odyssey Tours who chose this accommodation and to Hung, our tour director, who also got up in the middle of the night to walk us through this crisis.

This is a gem of a boutique hotel in Luang Prabang. Opened fairly recently with an eco quality that’s quite refreshing in this cultural heritage city. The hotel is well designed .. very modern, pseudo-colonial yet retaining aspects of traditional Lao design; a fresh style that’s not found in any other hotel here. This hotel n staff provide a 5-star service standard but at a 4-star price .. from rooms to restaurant to spa service, this is a great value for the discerning traveller. Within the quiet oasis of this hotel, the ambience is natural, bright n relaxing .. truly a place good for singles n families. You would fall in love with their swimming pool .. with pool access rooms n sunken deck chairs in the water .. AND .. a sunken pool bar .. a total hit on those hot summery days! MyBanLao Hotel also boasts a fleet of ev vehicles for guests’ rental as well as for the hotel’s shuttle service to airport/train terminals. For its eco concept, they also make use of solar power energy to support their energy usage within their premises .. I did feel good supporting new world tech within an old world culturally regarded city .. to keep its heritage alive n doing no harm to its beautiful environment. And last but not least, I would totally recommend any visitor to try out their Bistro 1960 .. within which they have an interesting menu of both Western n Laotian foods .. cooked to perfection by their French Executive Chef .. very comparable in quality to the few standalone fine dining restaurants in this city but at a truly good value for money. I enjoyed my stay very much and I am sure I will visit this city n this hotel again very soon.

The charm and the professional hospitality at My Ban Lao Hotel are a joy to return to after a day at the Kwang Si Waterfall. The hotel rooms are spacious and the design of a contemporary colonial touch is certainly pleasing and comfortable. We loved our stay at MyBanLao! Truly one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The room was spacious and the bed and pillows were super comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and included a bathtub aswell as a powerful shower with two shower head options. We really appreciated the complimentary minibar. The pool was beautiful and the hotel has some really great facilities the guests can enjoy as well as tasty food. The staff were attentive, friendly and accommodating and were always smiling! This hotel is a real hidden gem in Laos and I can’t recommend it enough.

Excellent customer service with staff members anticipating your needs . A hotel steep in history . This hotel was converted from a general's home into an updated hotel. We checked into a twin room with pool view. The space was adequate with a balcony overlooking the pool . Wood floors and bathroom with glass window over looking bedroom. With a click of a button , the bathroom window turns opaque for privacy . The hotel is a 15 min walk to the center of the city . The hotel offers drop off and pick up within the town. The hotel offers Laotian style massage in their spa for $15. I am thankful that the hotel allowed for a late check out . I needed some items printed and the staff was able to assist me with this concern . We stayed for two nights so our airport pick up and drop off was included in our stay . Truly , this hotel is an excellent marriage between tradition and modern comforts .

Exceptionally good stay. Very attentive staff, new facilities and rooms. Highly recommended for truly Laotian hospitality and classy feel. Every detail is taken into consideration: starting from classic car pick up at the airport to clean and airconditioned car with driver to visit waterfall. Take a deep with the swimming pool, go for massage in a spa and have lunch in beautiful pavilion.

This was a truly wonderful hotel! The service was unmatched, and the staff was very kind and welcoming. We utilized multiple services while we were at the hotel, including the breakfast (which had a delicious spread and was included in our stay), car rides into town (which we didn't use too often since most things were within walking distance), laundry services (which were more expensive than taking it to a laundromat ourselves, but we went with the convenient option), airport pickup, and train station drop off. We also rented an electric car through the hotel to take a day trip to Kuang Si Falls (which I highly recommend). We booked directly with the hotel for our reservation and were given a free 1 hour massage. We reserved a couples massage (half off with the coupon promo), and it ended up being one of the best messages we've had.
The pool was too cold for swimming (although some brave guests were), but it was still plenty warm enough to have cocktails and snacks on one of the pool lounge chairs. The hotel property is beautiful with the pool as well as the various turtle ponds, and it made for a very relaxing environment.
We had a minor hiccup in our departure plans (not related to anything coordinated with the hotel) and needed to stay another night in Luang Prabang. The room we were already in was not available another night, but the hotel staff made our transition to another room seamless by holding our luggage until we could check into our new room. It was also very easy for them to transfer our previous reservation information. I was actually quite happy to be able to stay here another night!
From the online pictures some of the rooms showed a full glass window view from the bedroom into the bathroom. I avoided this room type since I didn't want a room setup like this, but the second room we stayed in had this feature. There was a switch in the bathroom that could make the glass clear or opaque, so this was actually a non-issue. I only mention this so other guests aren't deterred from picking these rooms!
I highly recommend this hotel to others when staying in Luang Prabang.

It has been a perfect stay for me and my family in MyBanLao hotel! The architectural design tastefully retains its local Laotian touch, blend with its colonial past. Yet, the rooms and facilities are equipped with modern gadgets to enhance convenience for guest! The pool looks amazing and we can access it from our bedroom where our boys really enjoyed the afternoon dips. Staffs are always friendly and ready to assist. The breakfast and dine in room service is great of which we frequently ordered supper. MyBanLao offers electric vehicles (EV) to rent which we took advantage of to explore the town and the many sightseeing, outdoor activities in Luang Prabang! It is also affiliated to #DiscoverLaosToday where I booked and planned my itinerary. In addition, this hotel is green focused with its beautifully installed arrays of solar panels! I look forward for our many return stays!

Pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely hotel in a heritage town. The hotel itself is newly renovated and have different room types that cater to different need. I love that we could go straight from the room to the pool!
The hotel has a good resident european chef and he was able to do a special meal as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.
I also like the fact that the hotel provides free transport to and fro the hotel in a special open vehicle.
Do look out for Benny if he is around, and he can give you some good tips and guide of Laos!
