The hotel exudes a blend of historic charm and warm atmosphere, with spacious rooms that boast colonial elegance. Let’s start by saying that I spent 3 great weeks traveling through Thailand and Laos and that I am used to stay in nice hotels & resorts, which I used all along my trip.

My vacation ended up in early March in Luang Prabang and, based on the recommendation of a friend, I spent my last 4 nights at the 3 Nagas.
I did not have any specific expectation about the hotel before checking-in, I just knew that it reflected well the colonial past of the city and that it looked charming by the pictures I had seen online. I also liked the central location of the hotel, ideal to wander around.

Upon check-in, we were welcome by a gentleman named Bird, who took the time to have us seated in a semi-private space, where we were offered a welcoming drink while he explained us about the hotel and the city. During this time, the admin process with passports was done in the back office. Bird was very attentive and willing to help with suggestions of what to do during our stay. When we came back at the end of our first day In Luang Prabang, we found in our room a personalized itinerary with the suggestions we had mentioned during our discussion: very nice surprise!
Our room in the main building on the first floor was very spacious and could speak of itself with the very well preserved colonial architecture and design. Large private terrace as well, perfect to relax with a book and a drink at the end of the day or to observe the Monks procession early in the morning.
The restaurant is located just across the road and offers a great food selection + delicious cocktail drinks. The “à la carte” breakfast in the morning will please anyone with different kinds of food (western, fusion, local or healthy) and cold and hot beverage. The waiter and the waitress of whom I can’t remember the names were always smiling, reactive and attentive.
Two other gentlemen at the reception, Jed and Yod, were also very dedicated, asking about how our day was, helpful with the motorbike and car rental or just to suggest and book fancy restaurants.
Nice tip, they have a free shuttle that can bring you to the Sofitel if you want to enjoy their big swimming pool, particularly refreshing at the end of a warm and sunny day (both hotels are run by Accor management).

Of all the nice hotels I used during my 3 weeks (chain or independent resorts), that one was probably where we kept the best memories. The city of Luang Prabang helps of course, but the way this very charming hotel is run made the difference. The people working there were all friendly and dedicated. By experience, I know that an outstanding service makes the difference between a nice hotel and a great hotel. The 3 Nagas were definitely a great place to stay and I would come back with pleasure... Khobchai! 🙏🏻

Great location, wonderful service with expat staffs so I can speak Thai and English with them. The restaurant & bar are so chic, variety of international breakfast. Good coffee and cocktails too. At lunch, I order papaya salad set with Beer Lao at cheap price but very delicious.
Don't miss the private sunset cruise! It cost USD160++/2 persons with unlimited snack & drinks (soft drink/wine) for 2 hours. Watching sunset in the middle of Khong River is breathtaking!
Sticky rice merit at 5am was great, the hotel provide everything for me including wake-up call.

On our last day of staying here for 7 nights
The hotel is in a great location right on the Main Street. All bars shops restaurants in walking distance. Great place to see the monks in the early morning. All the staff are very friendly and helpful
Bikes available for use. The sister hotel
The Sofitel has a swimming pool to use, the cost is about £2 in a tuk tuk to get there, too far to walk but you are greeted with a glass of iced water
The hotel is split into 2 buildings on either side of the road and contains 15 rooms, breakfast is good and lunch and evening meal are also available

3 Nagas is located in the main street of Luang Prabang, a great location that allows you to walk to any of the town's attractions, and which puts you directly in the path of Sai Bat, the alms giving ritual. It is also very close to Big Brother Mouse, a place that provided me with a unique opportunity to meet local people and (hopefully) do something helpful.

The staff was always prompt and extremely courteous, and somehow they all treated me by my name, not once did I have to use the room number.

Delicious breakfast, and some interesting extras: the three buildings are historic houses that have been restored, there is a nice old Citroën relic in front of the hotel (it moves from one sidewalk to the other for some reason I could not figure out), and there is a stand that sells a fantastic ice cream - one of the traditions of the original house that has been adapted to modern times.

I really loved to stay in the wooden building with quite authentic retro look. Wooden buildings can be noisy - and for some people this would be troublesome - but for me this was part of the authenticity of the place.

My experience at 3 Nagas was excellent and will be part of the memories I will keep from my stay in Luang Prabang.

Our stay at 3 Nagas was absolutely wonderful. The team led by Te, (Nouy,Fan,Keoand Vanh) was very professional and accommodating.

The hotel is made up of 3 UNESCO world heritage buildings in heart of the old Town of Luang Prabang. It's charming French colonial architecture is definitely one of its best features, with passers by pausing to take photos and it's easy to see why. The location is perfect and we found many restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance, the night market and morning markets are an short stroll down the road.

We had breakfast every morning at the hotels restaurant and would highly recommend it the food was great and we definitely made a real go of trying everything on the menu during our stay. Dinner was equally good, sitting in the courtyard it has a very relaxed atmosphere but do make a booking as it's very popular.

Overall we had no complaints and were very happy with our stay and will definitely come back again.

The perfect location in the historic district a short easy walk to everything.

Thank you to Mr Bird and the team for the perfect upscale end to my first adventure through Laos. After weeks of travel through smaller villages by motorcycle and boat, from the moment I was welcomed at 3 Nagas, everything was impeccable.

The beds are fluffy and canopied, the historic chocolate-dark floors are shined to a mirror polish, the ingenious carved wooden shutter locks are a delight, and the comfortable porch allows for the perfect view from a respectful distance of the monk procession down the Main Street in the early morning with a pot of warm rosella tea (also provided in the room).

The breakfast was beautifully plated (Oriental option was what I choose) and the service kind and helpful.

Cleaning and evening turn down service left my room refreshed and smelling great.

Mr Bird also arranged a train ticket for me, transport to the station, and the mailing of my postcard to grandma!

Oh! Also, Ock Pop Tok is right beside 3 Nagas and had some of the most beautiful textiles and clothing that I found around town.

I can’t wait to return and bring friends!

I made a reservation here months ago and was contacted by email a couple weeks prior to arrival that they could no longer accommodate me due to other bookings, and they requested that I either pay extra to be moved to their sister property the Sofitel or cancel on my end. This is an absolutely unacceptable policy for a hotel. I had a half-dozen emails and chats with even the Associate Director of Sales which went nowhere. I have been "walked" at a couple other hotels in the past, and they always came with huge apologies and an upgrade to an equivalent or nicer hotel. Never have I heard of the guest being asked to cancel on their end or pay extra to be moved.

In doing further research online, I learned the 3 Nagas uses the Sofitel to offload overbookings, for service recovery situations, and to offer "upgrades" to elites. However, none of those reported a surcharge, so am not sure if this is a new policy or a rogue employee.

Given the date of the booking, which was during a festival, it was very suspicious that months later they suddenly found out they were overbooked. Furthermore, when I looked at the website, the 3 Nagas was showing availability still (at a much higher rate), and hotel they wanted to move me to, their sister hotel the Sofitel had lower rates than the 3 Nagas. (Though a nicer hotel, it is in a worse location for the festival.) This was explained away as that the online system was not accurate and that I still needed to pay extra or cancel on my end.

I eventually contacted the GM who quickly shut down those 2 options and said that while they would still have to move me to the Sofitel, I should not be charged extra.

While the location of the 3 Nagas for the festival would have been perfect, the Sofitel is a "nicer" hotel, so it's a wash depending on what the purpose of your visit is. We did end up having dinner at the 3 Nagas, which was very pricey for Luang Prabang, but had great service and a nice view of the parade.

This was my 2nd stay at 3 Nagas MGallery. Here is again everything about this property was absolutely amazing. All staff members were great, kind and efficient. Special thanks to our wonderful assistant house manager, Noy. She made us comfortable as it were our second home. Also thanks to Bird, Yond, Brian from the front desk, Lain, Bounluey, Vanh, Valee, Ked, Keo from the 3 Nagas restaurant, Seng and Fan from breakfast, Ked and Bounyong from the bar. Without those people, our stay could have not been better. Breakfast was excellent and great food at 3 Nagas restaurant. We tried the sunset cruise from the hotel for two hours and it is highly recommended for anyone who wants a private with unlimited drinks to go with. Another thanks to Lai who looked after us on the cruise. The property is old but protected by UNESCO. You may experience creaking noise but it is just a part of the property itself. If you accept the tiny small flaw with respect, the more than 100 years old house will give anyone who stays there an unique experience.

If you are looking for a modern type hotel with modern facilities this is not the place for you. The hotel has been recognized by unesco and the windows are old single pane windows that allow noise to come in as you are on the Main Street and motorbikes roar by . They do provide a present of earplugs and masks but by 9 pm it is mostly quiet and stays that way until around 5 / 6 am . If you want a swimming pool you have to go to other hotel a few km away and it was not really open . The food and service were good , very close to a number of temples and the night market. Also waterfalls approx 40 minute drive and quite beautiful . Breakfast was provided and was reasonable but at times came a little cold . I would recommend two days stay . In the night market most of what was being sold seemed to have been brought in from China . I would suggest two full days is enough to cover all you need to see . Restaurants are very inexpensive . Enjoy

You won’t see much from the balcony, as the trees block any detail, and it is dark. There are 4 rooms (from memory)in the old ice cream building, and these are the only rooms with a balcony that overlooks the street. Do not accept a room on the other side of the street, as the shared balcony does not overlook the street and there is no privacy. For example, If there are children staying on that side, then you will have them playing on the balcony outside your room. Hope this helps.
