Very helpful owner, he helped us find a rental car and a rental scooter. The guesthouse is a nice colonial building. Clean. Very basic but not skimpy breakfast. Nice beds in a very big room (we had the suite so I don't know how that would apply to other rooms)

I Booked for two nights, and stayed with my friend. The room was clean and quiet during the night. Staffs are very nice and helpful, I think the location is ideal, minutes from all you need.(night market,Museum,Temple)

An older, simple, quiet guesthouse located a short 3-5 minute walk from the Old Quarter/Night Market, and just a block away from the mighty Mekong river. We had the double bed room with a private toilet/shower; the water pressure is superb, though the hot water doesn't last for too long, shifting to mildly warm quickly (Hint: get wet, shut off... Myself and my husband stayed here for 2 nights and on the 3rd night we caught the manager peeping on us being intimate. When we were checking in we were shown a room, however when we were getting the keys, the manager promptly moved us to another room, saying that the air conditioner was better in the new room. We... We don't normally write reviews, good or bad, but our experience here was horrifying. Myself and my wife stayed here for 2 nights and on the 3rd night we caught the manager peeping on us being intimate. When we were checking in we were shown a room by member of staff and agreed to take it, however when we were... More

The staff here is very friendly and form a nice close-knit guest house. Late at night they took me in warmly, except struggling against a language barrier. Breakfast was cooked promptly for me at my request and the guest house. However, the options limited. There were a couple of flies and ants visibly roaming the hotel and it could use... More

Sayo Guest House Xieng Mouane may not be the top guest house pick in Luang Prabang, but might be worth considering. The upstairs double suites for $50-70 US are incredibly sapcious with another mezzanine bed included and large bathroom (Room sA3 and A6). It also has a great location near to the Mekong River, the start of the night market... More

Wonderful time in this old French villa. If you can get an upstairs room, do. View out the window of a perfectly framed temple. Ceilings 12 feet high with lace mossie net. Manager Sao is extremely helpful. Alms procession every morning without truckloads of tourists. Extended by a week. Close to local market and quieter than river strip.

We stayed in January three nights in the downstairs special room. The hotel is very nice, our room was huge with two large double beds and shower fantastic with plenty of hot water. I like the décor and its location is very good in a quiet alley. We found the staff very friendly. Reviewing other negative comments regarding their reservations... More

I reserved this place well in advance and my reservation was acknowledged and accepted. They asked me to reconfirm a few days in advance, which I did. They did not respond to that reconfirmation meaning they gave my room to someone else. If you want to be sure you have a reservation you can count on, go elsewhere as we... More
