When visiting the royal capital of the country until 1975 you must stay at the Belmond La Residence. The grounds are lovely and the staff is wonderful. when you check in, hotel staff escort us to the lobby sofa and bring luang prabang regional snacks.that already have unforgettable moment in my mind. rooms are extremely clean and view of the room from day bed at my room's balcony is also relaxing. they have great spa and steam sauna by cozy swimming pool and hotel guest can use it by notifying spa 10minites before you use. Main swimming pool also quiet with BGM of little birds chirping. when you have your poolside bed and staff also bring ice water and berry juices are the best treat after swimming. For my experience of stay, most impressive thing at this hotel is Breakfast. Buffet style breakfast has so much variety of sections . egg omlette you must try. because of the flavor and tenderness inside and some texture outside has great harmony. fresh squeezed lemon, orange, mango juice. luang prabang sausage, ham, everything has one of the best. especially Khao soi here is the best in luang prabang. I would say I can stay here just to have this particular Khao soi. it worth it for sure. over looking world heritage phousi hill is also only the advantage of this hotel ! Enjoy it.

This is the perfect hotel for Laos and fits in so well. I loved the staff who's attention to detail and general attentiveness seemed so warm and genuine.
The rooms are generously sized and furnished sensitively to local tastes so you certainly didn't feel like you were in a generic hotel room. The poolside was wonderful.

What a gorgeous property. Lush foliage giving the impression of it being a hillside retreat, though you're only 5 mins from town. The rooms are large and classy, with four-poster beds and a massive terrace. The daybed is perfect for kids, my eight-year old was very comfortable there.
We did the sunset cruise which was unreal. The boat is so well equipped, and truly luxurious.
The hotel manager, Sai, is very helpful and always on-hand to help, and the food is absolutely delicious. Highly highly recommend.

This was my first time to experience the luxuty SPA in Luangprbang, the location of SPA in the hotel was very quite and private, as soon as you entered the SPA area, you would be covered by a gentle wooden scent which came from the aged wood structure architectures of the hotel. It's nature, vintage, luxury and relaxing...The SPA receptionist and therapist was very gentle, professional, experienced and patient, she would offer the service as per your preference. I would like to recommend to have a SPA experience in Belmond for sure.

This was my first experience of a 5-star hotel in Lao PDR and it was a memorable one. I will definitely want to spoil myself again when I can afford to do so. This time the deal due to COVID 19 helped me. All the staff learnt my first name and were welcoming and accommodating. The chef ensured that I was provided vegetarian food at breakfast and could select from the different menus. I was also upgraded to a bigger room with a great view.

We were delighted to stay @ Belmond La Residence Phou Vao and a special thank to all members of staff and management who greeted us to perfection. All with a kind word at all times. WIFI is top and the fact that one does not need to reconnect manually to access again after leaving the hotel is much appreciated. The property showed great flexibility on schedules of vans to/from town and that is a big plus. Wishing you well in these troubled times.

Absolutely amazing. The staff are professional, discreet, and super nice, they go beyond their way to support and make your stay unforgettable. The rooms are spacious with a cozy balcony allowing a beautiful view. Two great pools overseeing the mountains and the garden. The breakfast is the best in Luang Prabang, if not in the entire Laos. The property is in a quiet location, but at the same within walking distance from the night market and the main touristic objectives, and the hotel provides transportation. I can not wait to be back.

This was our third attempt to visit Luang Prabang and we were delighted to finally have the opportunity of visiting Laos and staying at the excellent La Residence Phou Vao. The hotel is no more than 20 minutes from the Airport and approx 30 minute walk to the historic centre of the city, close to the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers. The setting is elevated with wonderful views across a tropical landscape to distant mountains with the landmark Mount Phousi clearly visible. Meals are served al fresco if preferred, looking across the infinity pool to the aforementioned views in the distance. Everything about our experience was first rate and a large part was down to the immaculate service provided by the friendly staff from the moment we arrived at the hotel after a long day of travel. The food was outstanding with ingredients all sourced locally by the chef who explained options on every occasion and delivered by helpful waiting staff. Our room was everything we had expected and more besides, with those small, additional touches that signify an operation on its A game. Front of house were incredibly helpful and the hotel operates a free shuttle service to and from the centre. A big thank you to all the staff with a specific mention to Minh the barman for his special Gin & Tonics and the legendary Lotus smoked Negroni; Bae and Andreij on Front of House and Saw, Neena and No in the restaurant.

Living and working in Laos for many years, there are few places that I have been that can compare with the Belmond in Luang Prabang. The staff are wonderfully attentive and friendly (with top-notch English) and were extremely helpful with any of our needs during our stay. The rooms are beautifully designed and extremely spacious and comfortable. My room had a direct view of Phu Si and the mountainous surroundings of Luang Prabang. Our breakfast selections each morning were expansive and delicious with enough coffee choices to satisfy anyone. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler who has the opportunity to go to Luang Prabang. Many thanks to the General Manager, Mr. Sai, and to Ms. Cathy for her help in arranging our stay and to all the wonderful staff at the hotel.

Normally the pool is for the resident guest only, however we made an exceptional sometime depending on the occupancy, there is no fee for using the pool but we would request minimum spend of USD 50 per person on F&B or spa then you can have access to the pool
There are more places to choose from in the Luang Prabang area.
