The Bab Al Shams Resort is a very nice getaway where you can spend a relaxing weekend. The staff is great and the rooms are very nice. You can also take a stroll in the dunes or watch the camels. Hotel has a very distinct "arabic heritage" touch.

Another fabulous stay. Love this place so much I cannot stay away. I was back for a second weekend stay. The rooms are fabulous. As long as you understand this is an Arabian themed hotel then you won't complain the rooms are too dark. I love it personally. Food, staff everything is fabulous. Cannot recommend enough!

Don't waste money theming your venue for that Arabian look - Just go get it first-hand. The venue, the staff, the food - Every aspect tailored to making the special day 'Special' and with the minimal of input. Add a local wedding planner and then just fly out with your guests for the experience of a lifetime.

Visited on a work trip a month or so ago with colleagues, what an absolutely stunning place in the middle of nowhere, not a lot that I could see to visit locally but you won't want to when you see the place, would love to take my wife for a long weekend of relaxation and pampering!

An amazing place, set up exactly like a traditional Arabic village.. Great service and excellent rooms The pool is scattered and the walls can hurt.. So be careful! Food, options for Arabic food is less but has a very good buffet! All in all a wonderful place! Worth every penny spent!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Translated from Arabic as "Gateway to the sun", the *award-winning 5-star Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is designed to resemble a fortified rural Arab village amidst the desert landscape. Featuring low-rise architecture, this sandy coloured style fort boasts the main tower with Reception area and lobby and clusters of two-storey buildings housing guest accommodation, restaurants, spa and meeting facilities interconnected by seemingly endless little walkways. The charm of Arabia is personified in every corner of the property with small lanes running through the hotel, scattered around ponds and secluded seating areas, shaded courtyards, water fountains and trickling streams bestowing the feel of cool tranquillity. The abundance of green garden areas and manicured lawns adds to the quiet and soothing environment of the resort. The rustic Arabian theme of exterior design continues to flow in the carefully selected interior decorations and settings featuring uncovered natural stone floors, bare plastered walls, dark wood and iron fixtures, warm dimmed lighting and an abundance of artefacts showcased throughout the property. The resort boasts 113 rooms and suites offering cosy accommodation in an authentic Arabian style with majority of the rooms having a private terrace. All guest rooms and public areas have complimentary Wi-Fi access. *World's Leading Desert Resort, World Travel Awards. ... more   less
