Swissotel is a brand we know and trust, typically associated with a certain standard of quality. Unfortunately, our stay in the apartment area fell short of expectations.
While the apartment was spacious, it felt dated, with an old and murky look. The pillows were flat and had lost their shape, making them uncomfortable to sleep on.
We stayed during Christmas night, but two ongoing renovations—at the main restaurant and an outdoor area near the pool—significantly impacted our experience. Breakfast was particularly chaotic, as it was relocated to the ballroom and outside bar area. Due to the crowd, we were seated in the smoking section outside, which was highly uncomfortable, especially for the kids who had to sit near smokers. The constant renovation noise added to the inconvenience. It felt especially inconsiderate to schedule such disruptive renovations during a festive period that families are celebrating.

A group of friends and I stayed at this hotel for 5 rooms during New Year's Eve 2025. Please note that the apartment units are separate from the main hotel building. The hotel itself is very old, and the furniture is outdated. The cleanliness was just average, and when I requested an extra blanket, it was so worn out I declined to use it. The breakfast was decent, but the staff was indifferent, and the reception was disorganized, causing confusion and long lines. I waited at least half an hour to check out, and several guests had been served before me. My complaint to the reception fell on deaf ears. The hotel's nightclub is especially bad, run by a shady group of people. The advertised entrance fee was 200 dirhams with one drink, but after half an hour, we were presented with a bill for 1900 dirhams, including 1000 dirhams for a table reservation! We were also charged for olives and other items that were never delivered. Even more bizarrely, the bill included charges for items ordered by the table next to us. When we protested, they admitted they were trying to overcharge us. The atmosphere was unpleasant, with a bad smell, excessive smoke, and loud, jarring music. I cannot recommend this hotel, even without considering the nightclub. The only positive is its location near Downtown and the Burj Khalifa, but it's not worth the price. I strongly advise against booking the one-bedroom apartments. They are located in the attic, next to the utilities, and require climbing two flights of stairs since there's no elevator. Contrary to the listing on Booking.com, these rooms do not have two queen-sized beds, but only one. In short, our stay was a disaster. Upon checkout, they gave me a kid's bracelet and had someone stand by the lobby to ensure I left a positive review. It seems the hotel's primary focus is manipulating guests into giving good reviews. I would rate this hotel 2 out of 5.

A Family of 5 from Ireland staying 2 weeks in Dubai and one of the highlights was our hotel Apartment. We stayed in Lavendar L104 and it was very spacious with 3 rooms, a double room with an ensuite, single room ensuite and a twin room ensuite. All beds were large, clean and we had a pool side view, important as front rooms could suffer from road noise. Big sitting room with a table for 6, 2+3 couches and a large kitchen with evrything including a washing machine. Some would say its a little outdated but it was very comfortable for us. Many thanks to Belal and Ali who cleaned the Apt every day and gave us anything extras we needed, excellent service! The hotel is luxurious and the food great, Italian nite and the other speciality nites are excellent with a great discount for those staying in thr hotel... expect 130AED to 180AED. Everyone was helpful there. Great hotel for its location, very near the Dubai mall, short 5 min walk. Another thing for us a self catering option was the supermarket about 120m from the Lavedar complex, its literally got everything there, great for breakfast items . Pool was also excellent and in june no sun bed wars! Very comfortable and great food there. Alcohol is expensive in Dubai, to state the obvious, but the hotel bat Double Decker had a long happy hour! Only complaint was that our terrace was dirty amd we didnt use it Overall a greqt stay.

During our August 2024 holiday in Dubai, Swissôtel Al Murooj was the first hotel we stayed at. We specifically chose this hotel for its proximity to Dubai Mall and its high standards. Here’s our experience: Proximity to Dubai Mall: The hotel is exceptionally well-located, with the Dubai Mall just a 9-12 minute walk away, depending on traffic lights. However, be mindful that walking to the mall during midday in August can be challenging due to the heat. Check-In Experience: Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the reception staff, who were both professional and accommodating. The check-in process was efficient, and we were promptly escorted to our room. Accommodation: We stayed in a one-bedroom suite that met our high expectations. The suite was spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. A comfortable extra bed was provided for my son in the lounge. The bedroom offered breathtaking views, and the air conditioning was excellent, allowing us to maintain a comfortable temperature of 16 degrees Celsius at night. Special thanks to the cleaning staff, Porter Suresa, Bell Boy Ishaq and Sakshi Rajkumar (executive house keeper) for their exceptional service and assistance. What stood out was the inclusion of soft drinks and bottled water with our meals, something I truly appreciated. Special thanks to Chef Sony Gomes and Restaurant Manager Aamir for their exceptional service. Facilities: The swimming pool area was another highlight, featuring a lovely waterfall. The pool was well-maintained, and the staff were attentive and professional. Conclusion: Swissôtel Al Murooj Dubai is an excellent five-star luxury hotel with competitive pricing and a prime location in Downtown Dubai. We were extremely impressed and will certainly return in the future. We strongly advise against staying at this hotel if you value your peace and comfort.
Our stay at Swissôtel Al Murooj Dubai in November 2024 was a complete nightmare from start to finish. We booked one room in the hotel side, but were forced to book the second room as an apartment unit. We had no choice but to opt for an apartment unit at a much higher cost due to our 7-year-old daughter (if she was 6, we could have booked a room instead of an apartment!). The apartment, which was inconveniently separate from the main hotel (a detail not disclosed during booking), was filthy, with noticeable stains, foul odors (likely pee), and cold water in the morning after just one shower. Imagine getting cold showers in Dubai when the outside temperature is 40C!
The hotel room situation was equally appalling. Initially given a king bed instead of the non-smoking twin bedroom we had reserved, we spent a frustrating three hours with the front desk before finally being provided with a twin bedroom. However, this room was in the smoking section, causing severe breathing issues for our elderly guest due to residual smoke. Additionally, the toilet was dysfunctional, likely because of low water pressure as the room was on a high floor.
When we raised these numerous issues with management, their response was dismissive and unhelpful, lacking any meaningful effort to compensate for our dreadful experience. We had to shorten our stay in Dubai from four days to one day as we could not stay in this hotel for more than one night. This stay was so horrendous that we felt compelled to file a complaint for non-compliance with promotional terms and conditions with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

Garden views and pool views are great unless you have the view on Burj Califfa as it is light up in the evening. You have 10 minutes to the mall but this is accross the highway with big traffice so you wait little bit at the lights. Its not fun when its very hot and humid. There is an overpass connecting mall to the metro but this is little bit of distans. I would say you have another 10 minutes walk on top of getting to the mall. There is plenty of buses in front of the mall but cgeck as there were roadworks when i visited in September. Taxis are cheap. The trip from the airport with take less than 15 min plus you will pay around 60 in local currency. Its a good location and comfortable stay.
