Everything about our brief stay in the hotel was great: the cost, cleanliness, service, amenities, everything! It would be helpful if the entrance on Plymouth Road had a bigger sign. If this is your first visit, watch for the Double Tree by Hilton sign, and turn there to get to the Microtel by Wyndham.
I have stayed here before and it wasn’t as nice. The rooms are now very clean. The staff is friendly! It’s easy on/ off the highway and then to commute to the VA Hospital and or UM Hospital. The breakfast could be served earlier but that is usually a staffing thing.
I’ve stayed at this hotel 2 or 3 times in the last year and this time was the best. The room I had was very up to date with upgraded bedding, microwave and refrigerator, and vinyl flooring instead of worn out and stained carpeting. I only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. The staff members I encountered were very friendly. I will stay here again, and would be happy to recommend Microtel to any of my friends and family.
Room and property very clean, staff were friendly and check-in and check-out very easy. A little road noise from Semi's, but was still able to sleep, it did not wake us up. Would recommend requesting a room in the front.
Have stayed many times at this hotel and have always been pleased with the way it is taken care of. Staff is pleasant and rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good and coffee is always available.
Very disappointing. Loud neighbors, loud toilets, thin walls and ceilings. Staff did not help with neighbors. Paid too much for too little. Will not stay here on my next visit to University of Michigan hospital
VERY dissatisfied with this place! Our room smelled awful. It’s cheep and in general not welcoming. The hand sanitizer is greasy and smell like someone’s bottom. Breakfast was mediocre with a waffle maker that left your finished waffle in pieces because it wouldn’t release. The staff on hand during breakfast wouldn’t respond to questions asked of him. Why? Did he speak English of just plain rude? Spend the night in a tent before wasting your money here!!!!
The hotel had geat location, service, and breakfast. However, the WiFi/internet connection was very slow. The connection had been interrrupted almost every 5-10 minutes. It is impossible to join a web meeting (e.g., Zoom or Teams meeting) with this unreliable internet connection. Another issue was that we found a live cockroaches in the bathroom two days during our stay.
You won't be disappointed. I would definitely return. Excellent staff who worked with our changing schedule and always found a way to make it work. Definitely not your average Microtel. Convenient to all services including for us the VA Hospital
I stayed here bec they are AAA diamond rated for service and cleanliness but my room and breakfast area fell very short of expected cleanliness. My bathroom still had previous guest’s pubic hair on the toilet and in the tub rim; and there is a brown smear near the toilet paper holder - yuck! And bacon pieces and brown crumbs on the floor. I thought rooms were supposed to be vacuumed in between guests?? Breakfast area counters were dirty and smeared with handprints and even with an hour left of breakfast service, there was very little left (one yogurt, 4 bagels, 1 banana and 4 tiny danishes). In all the hotels I’ve stayed at since and during the last 2 years, all the hotels except for this one offered a bottle of hand sanitizer upon entering breakfast area. This is really too bad bec this is a nicely appointed hotel. Perhaps management need to pay better attention to cleanliness especially with covid-19 still being around!…
