When we checked into the Residence Inn, Tyrone was at the front desk, welcoming us with great service! Throughout our stay, he was hospitable, offering helpful tips about where to dine and sights to see. His friendly manner and service definitely made us feel at home.

I also absolutely love the location of this hotel! Right by both downtown Ann Arbor and Kerrytown, there was so much to explore! Also very close to the river and bike path where you can hike, bike or spend a lazy day floating down the water way.

The room was great, everything was clean and comfy. Guests and staff practiced safety measures and there was hand sanitizer located throughout the hotel. Will definitely be coming back to the Residence Inn when we visit Ann Arbor again!

Everyone at the Marriott Residence Inn, particularly Nicolette and Tyrone went the extra mile to make our Journey and that of a Just Married couple an extraordinary experience.

From the check-in through "see you soon", Nicolette, Tyrone and the overall Crew at the Marriott always responded positively to our special requests, providing far better than what we have expected.

We really felt at Home during our 3 nights. Thank you Nicolette, Tyrone and All!

I stayed at this hotel for 3-months while completing an internship at the university. I stayed in the studio suite.

On aspects of the environment and overall comfortability of the rooms:
The beds were extremely comfortable. The way the rooms were set up is amazing and allows you to feel comfortable in your home away from home while also being semi-luxurious. The room was extremely clean when I got there with lots of little things I may need in my first couple of days there like coffee pods, dishwasher pods, salt and pepper, makeup wipes, etc. I was also accommodated for my extended stay and was given a room with a great view! However, my only two suggestions for improvement are that the trashcans were extremely small and when staying there for an extended period of time, it makes it difficult. My second suggestion is that when I arrived I had to ask for extra pans and there was a limited amount of silverware and tools available but as soon as I asked these things were supplied. The pool was also very cold at all times.

Cleaning:
I was able to set up a consistent schedule with the cleaning crew at the very beginning but this may need some improvement because there was some confusion at times on when they were supposed to clean leading to my room being cleaned or not cleaned at incorrect times. I would suggest grabbing a door sign and keeping that updated on when you would like your room cleans. As far as the quality of cleaning, 90% of the time the cleaning was phenomenal. My suggestions for improvement would be to resupply the extra items at every cleaning and improve training because the quality would change depending on who cleaned my room but it was always good.

Location:
The hotel is in a great location with great access to downtown and the university. Grocery stores are about 10-20 minutes away usually depending on traffic. I didn't have a lot of time to do much but there are definitely some amazing restaurants in Ann Arbor. Some of my favorites were Haymakers and Burger One.

The staff:
The staff was absolutely amazing and welcoming. They truly made me feel safe and at home being so far from home. Anna was great setting up my stay and answering all of my questions. Nicolette was extremely kind and gave me someone to talk to when I needed a listening ear. Mike was always accommodating and willing to get me anything I needed. The new staff member Walter was very kind and friendly and was willing to ask about anything he didn't know to make sure I was being answered correctly. Breakfast was amazing and the staff was too. They were friendly and offered to accommodate me in any way they could. Finally, the night staff was extremely helpful when I had trouble late at night. I am truly grateful to all the staff for making me feel so welcomed and helping me feel comfortable in a new environment.

I would definitely stay here over and over again.

I was here for a family event just as the infection rate for CV19 starting blowing up. The staff were amazing: flexible, thoughtful, responded immediately. Location is great, walking distance from every place we needed to go. Kitchenettes are well-equipped and there Is a basic selection of frozen/prepackaged meals at reasonable prices in a small store in the lobby. If you are lucky (as I was) musical guests will start singing in the lobby and some very talented staff might sing along. The lobby is especially nice for a RI, by the way, with a big fireplace and couches.

We visited June 27-28. The front desk staff was amazing, for us checked in quickly and efficiently, non-contact in line with covid policy, and on the way to our room in minutes. They asked if we had a car, and mentioned that if we parked in the structure, it is free on Sunday if we do not exit until then. Very helpful.

We went up to our room on the 4th floor. It was clean and comfortable, nice layout with luggage table in alcove between bathroom and bedroom area. Opened the window to a......view of a roof full of HVAC equipment. Really? I'm guessing you are starving for guests during a pandemic, and I used 30,000 points and it gets me a room facing a "courtyard" of air conditioners.

I guess that's where being a "gold elite", and a member since 1997 gets you. #bonvoyed again.

I actually left a day early because my room was dark and dreary. There were no appliances that I needed in the room's kitchen and it was very inconvenient walking directly into the kitchen before heading into the bedroom. The panoramic room was not practical and nothing like the images on the web-site. There was poor explanation of anything a guest could need by the hotel staff, somewhat inconvenient parking, and a very high cost for its location /what the hotel provided. This is probably one of only 2 instances in my life where I whole-heartedly regret staying in a hotel. Not to mention it was very expensive, even for the area. Believe it or not, I spent my last night happily in the city of Detroit instead.

First of all, the location is excellent! You can walk one block and be surrounded by restaurants and shops. Just a perfect location. Our room was a studio with a king bed and the room was perfect. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. I give 5 stars to location and having a very nice clean room. I almost feel guilty complaining about a few small issues. One complaint was our room had obstructed views. Our room was on the second floor and we had windows blocked completely by a sign. So basically we had no views out the windows. Our room was 219, so be aware of that issue if you want to look out of the windows. You will not have any view at all in this room.

The parking situation wasn't great. The hotel clerk sent me to the parking lot and told me to scan the ticket. The monitor was black and couldn't read my ticket. The clerk rode with me and he could see the problem. It was an extra 20 minutes to park my car and explain that there was a problem.

We had a nice kitchen in our room with a very nice coffee maker. Unfortunately, there were no cups furnished, so getting coffee was impossible with no cups. I used my styrofoam cup from our road trip, cut off the top to fit the coffee maker, and made a cup of coffee with stryofoam floating in the coffee. The coffee never got hot enough, but having floating objects in my coffee made it pretty hard to drink. There were no glasses or cups furnished in our room, so bring your own or make sure to ask for them.

If you have leg issues, or are very tall, keep in mind that the toilet is very, very low to the ground. If you think you may have problems because of legs, back or age, you may want to take this into consideration when booking a regular room. We are not blaming the hotel, just letting you know if you have any mobility problems.

They were doing construction work on the roads and our car bottomed out in front of the hotel, so hopefully that will end soon. Again, no fault of the hotel, just be aware of that when driving to the entrance.

The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful. We didn't try the breakfast, so no comment on that. We would definitely stay here again because you can't beat the location, but we would check for coffee cups and avoid the obstructed views of this particular room. This is a very nice hotel with plenty to offer.

This review is long overdue. Our family hadn't traveled since the onset of COVID and we were particular about the cleanliness of a hotel during this time. Upon entering the building, we found that front desk clerk, Tyrone, was Fashionable, Fun, and Freeking Fabulous! He made sure we felt safe, got us a great room, and directed us to great walkable outdoor dining areas.

Our 2 bedroom suite was clean, spacious and close to everything. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Big Blue!

I stayed three nights at the Residence Inn during a business trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was my first time to Ann Arbor and I thoroughly enjoyed the convenience of easily walking to everything I wanted to see, including the best restaurants of all the cities I visited during my 17-day trip to 5 states.

The only thing I wish the Residence Inn would consider changing is the take away breakfast. I did not try it, so I can't speak to the quality, only to the concept. I would rather have a voucher for a hot breakfast at a local restaurant instead of the cold outs that I've tried at many other hotels. Another observation is when I checked in my room the safe was locked open and I had to have someone reset it - that took 24 hours. The toilet paper holder was broken, and I could not find cups for coffee or tea despite the baskets of tea and coffee. I later learned from staff that the cups were in the dishwasher. Staff should mention that to guests when they check in. I've traveled a lot over the past 14 months and have always have access to cups in the cupboard.

A plus was the first time I've stayed at a downtown Marriott property where the adjacent parking only cost $4.00 for the entire three night stay. Unbelievable!

Aside from the minor issues, I would stay again at the Residence Inn without hesitation and recommend it to others. I enjoyed it very much.

Stayed with my mom and sisters for a girls weekend. Rooms are nice size, the hotel is very clean and it a great location for all the downtown activities. Tyrone was more than accommodating with what we needed, and just a wonderful all-around person. Instead of the breakfast buffet, you order off a menu the evening before and they have your boxed breakfast ready for you in the more. That was the only downfall - do not order the pork & egg sandwich (rubbery egg & meat was awful) , order the turkey & egg white instead. I would definitely stay here again.
