This was a good choice. The room was standard Marriott (poor lighting and all) with an ample parking lot. You will have to drive to the University or to downtown, but parking was not difficult in Ann Arbor (at least when we were there at the end of June). Marriott charges too much for breakfast in all their properties, but in this case there is a McDonald's right across the street and egg McMuffins are actually a treat.

Very pleased with the superior service experience of the staff at this Ann Arbor Courtyard. As a Marriott titanium member I travel over 100 nights a year, so this is a huge feat for me to be compelled to write this review.

Especially Chris Roberts there went above and beyond helping with various things I needed during the stay - most importantly with the gym in sourcing equipment I needed, and checking in to make sure I had everything for my workout.

This shows how staff can really change a stay to a great experience

Great hotel to stay to visit the university without blowing the budget. Nicest Courtyard I have ever seen! Starting from the spacious and well furnished lobby to the well stocked bar (bistro). This Courtyard is clustered with other hotels but isn’t on the main drag with all the noise. Set back yet equally convenient. Free parking is perfect. Really nice looking outdoor area when the weather cooperates. Staff helpful and pleasant. Room as expected, nice when toilet/shower separated from sink area as it was here. Will definitely return on future trips to AA!

We arrived late at the hotel and after checking into our room, my wife noticed the bathroom sink was full of water. The stopper handle was broken so the sink could be drained. So either the housekeeping staff didn't notice it (very bad) or the previous occupants of the room filled the sink, realize it couldn't be drained (or presumably fixed) and asked for another room, in which case the front desk guy knew about it (also very bad). My wife called down and the guy offered to put us in the only available remaining room. When he came up to give us a key for the new room, he didn't even ask to see and/or try fix the drain, leading me to believe option B is the most likely.

Well, the remaining room smelled like an ashtray. Since we had no remaining options, we had to grin an bear it.

My larger issue is that I'm currently a titanium member and a lifetime platinum member. I have stayed in probably 6 Marriott properties in the last 3 months and each time I wonder if my experience as a titanium member is any different from someone who has zero loyalty with Marriott. My conclusion is, it isn't. After literally a lifetime of loyalty to Marriott (and before that Starwood), it is time for a change.

We were in town and other hotel we stayed at last time was booked for this trip. Additionally, rates were a lot more expensive this time but we were able to get a few rooms and decided to stay at the Courtyard. It's well located but needs work.

When we arrived, they sent us the long way to our room as we later found out there are 2 separate elevators. We went up and found the tiles cracked in the elevator (poor 1st impression). Then we also found a number of issues in the room needing attention. See photos.

Also, they had a convention at the hotel and we experienced folks outside being very loud at crazy hours. We called the front desk to see if they could help but nothing changed. Perhaps they should have asked the group to move inside in the lobby where they wouldn't be disturbing other guests.

Based on what it cost us and the number of issues we had, we would not return to this property again in the future.

The hotel is in a good location but the "grounds" are mostly parking lot. The room would have been fine as a single room but by trying to make it a suite the sitting area became a more like a dungeon- very dark and it seemed no amount of lights would brighten it up. The bedroom had the single window. We moved some furniture into the bedroom so that it least it would feel a bit more comfortable. It just seemed that instead of one larger room they wound up with 2 rooms which were too small.

The sink was not quite clean when we checked in.

The exercise facilities looked great as did the pool but we had no chance to use them as we had a tight schedule. In the future I would try somewhere else in Ann Arbor.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with others. I am very sorry to hear that your experience was just mediocre. It sounds like you stayed in one of our Extended King rooms (we don't have suites) that has the living room area separated from the bedroom for privacy. We do have standard king rooms as well that have a wide-open floor plan and more outside lighting that may have suited your needs a bit better. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and we hope you give us an opportunity to make a better impression the next time your travels bring you to the area.

Comfortable and family friendly hotel close to short drives throughout the city. Kerrytown, UofM, downtown, and Briarwood Mall are all within 15 minutes away. The rooms are a little dated but the beds are cozy, soft and quiet. Amazing service with George who welcomed us, showed us around the hotel and was extremely helpful with any questions which we had. Also available was an accommodating hotel manager, Claudine, who made our stay stress free and easy.

Solid Marriott hotel. We were here for a youth hockey tournament. The hotel is conveniently located near restaurants, close enough for the team to walk to. Team breakfast was included. The food was very basic, but served in a small conference room.

I recently stayed at Courtyard Ann Arbor and had a disappointing experience. The elevator made a loud, high-pitched noise all night, and a wedding party caused constant disturbances, making it impossible to sleep. My calls to the front desk went unanswered, and when I finally spoke to someone in the morning, I was given the runaround with no resolution. These issues severely impacted my stay, and I was unable to rest properly. I hope the management addresses these problems to improve future guest experiences.

Great stay. I was welcomed and status recognized. Most every staff member was friendly. Room was comfortable. The only thing I did not like was the room was a little dark. Ate one breakfast and one dinner in the bistro. Both very good. This was my second stay here and I will be back. .
