Easily the nicest Hampton Inn I have stayed at. Clean room, friendly staff. Even breakfast was hot and everything well stocked. The location was easy driving distance to the center of town. I will stay here again.

My family and I checked in on Wednesday and stayed for 2 nights. Marco checked us in and we every hospitable. We were assigned rooms 473 and 470 , both rooms appeared to be recently updated, the rooms had a seal on the door which meant they had been cleaned and sanitized. Our room was quite spacious and we could tell we were close to the freeway because we could hear the cars driving by all night, ibthiught this would prevent me from getting a good night's sleep but it didn't. There weren't that many people checked in, so the hotel was relatively quiet. We look forward to staying again soon, if you can bring your own pillow, the pillows on the bed we a bit wimpy otherwise the mattress was comfortable.

Three of us spent two nights here in May in a room with 2 queens beds and a sofabed on the 3rd floor of a 4 story building. The hotel itself is great - our room was huge and extremely clean, the staff was wonderful and apologetic that they were still unable to do hot breakfasts. The hotel is close to many good grocery stores and restaurants (Webers, Zingermans, Songbird Cafe) and is only a 5-10 minute drive to campus. Our main complaint is that the hotel is sandwiched between two busy roads/highways (Jackson Ave and Hwy 94), which means the road noise seems unavoidable regardless of which room you have. This hotel is fine, but I ever get to Ann Arbor again I may try a Hampton Inn on the other side of campus.

We had such negative, disappointing experience at this hotel, from our check-in to check-out.

As we had power outage, we decided to stay at this hotel. On Internet it said $155 for the room with two queen size beds.

My husband called and made a reservation. Upon arrival we were told that there’s no room so we had to wait for a while.
The front desk staff called my husband loud (she said “Smith!!”, not “Mr. Smith”) and we were offered a room with only a dim desk light working.

The lights in the bathroom and bedsides didn’t work. Later, they explained that the electric company put a limit on their electricity use. We were told to use “the flashlight on your phone” to take shower.

The room was cold no matter we set the temperature higher and not so clean (tired).

At check out, nobody was present at the front desk. I waited for 10 minutes and a staff came out reluctantly. She charged us $240. I asked her why and she said “because we didn’t have full electricity”.

We are very disappointed because this hotel basically took advantage of those of us who needed a warm, lit place to stay during a power outage by charging $100 more that their usual price. The quality of the service and their hygiene standard were disappointing.
My husband called Hilton customer service afterwards, but they were not nice nor understanding at all, transferred the call multiple times over 30-40 minutes.

We have been a Hilton honors member but we will switch to Marriot.

One last note: when we were waiting to check in, a homeless person with lots of paper bags came in casually, grabbed a paper cup in the breakfast room across the front desk, attempted to get some coffee from the dispenser. He put his cup back when he realized that there’s no coffee left.
There were two staff at the front desk and one cleaning staff close to him but they really didn’t care, it appeared that this person was a frequent visitor.

My wife and I were going to stay here for a weekend and we didn’t based on your ridiculous guidelines. I was going to use my points towards the cost of the room. I tried to book online I had called in and spoke to who I believed to be an African gentleman. He wasn’t rude or anything, but I asked him if the hotel does a hold for incidentals. He told me it was $50 a night. He also said that all of the hotels in the area do this. I called 3 other Hilton brand hotels in the area and none of them do this. Don’t lie to me and tell me that other hotels do that when they clearly don’t. You should just authorize the card and if I damage the room, charge me accordingly. Don’t take out an extremely high deposit “just to be sure”. That was half of our budget right there. We would definitely stay here if they didn’t do such an expensive hold

Have visited this particular Hampton Inn several times over the past few years because it is close to relatives in Ann Arbor and we have had positive experiences. This visit was not as good as previous ones. Wifi in the room did not work and the bed was saggy (a ‘canoe bed’). The front desk staff was present but didn’t knock it out of the park with friendliness and enthusiasm.

First room, the digital key did not work. Second room was full of flies (in January!!! I don't even want to know why). Third room was serviceable (clean enough but with threadbare and yellowed towels and few amenities). Arrived later at night (9pm) and front desk staff seemed disinterested in service. The clerk was sitting in the breakfast area on a computer each time I came to the desk to report the key and pest issues and dispassionately gave me another room without much of an apology at all. Also, I have gold status with this hotel chain which was not recognized—most hotels in this brand at least say “thank you for being a gold member” or provide complimentary water, snacks, or bonus points. I called management the next day and left a message to discuss these issues and a week later, no one has returned my call. So, it's a bare bones and slightly worn place to lay your head without much in the way of customer service. I chose this place due to proximity and relative safety of the area (hotels in the south ann arbor cluster have had issues with vehicle damage/theft). There have to be better places to stay in this town.

We stayed at (3) Hampton Inns during Big 10 college visits. The location was fine. However, breakfast was limited compared to the offerings at the Hampton Inn at Ohio State University. Hilton has a very loyal customer based and they need to encourage operators to offer consistent service in the Midwest region. People travel regularly between Ann Arbor and Columbus and having two sets of standards is frustrating for patrons.

The hotel is right off the highway which makes it easy. Only encountered one member of the staff and they were nice. The room was very big. It has a mini-fridge. Parking was no problem as it was a Thursday night and the hotel was mostly empty. The room was clean. A nice stay.

The window coverings are transparent and you’ll have a clear view of the parking lot if you’re worried about your vehicle. Don’t expect the TVs to work in your room. Bring a tablet. I was never greeted by the staff.
