Our B&B is a renovated home of the Catholic Priest who looked after the Arcadia Ursuline Academy nuns years ago. The B&B is attached to the Academy, which has a fantastic history, acres of beautiful land, and is in a peaceful setting. The food here is amazing, you'll see!
If you are looking for a unique, out of the way experience this place is a must. A friend and I stayed one night in April and were blown away by the unique history of the building and surrounding grounds. Garrison and his family were very accommodating and hospitable, and the French toast was the absolute best I have ever had!! If you like history and nostalgia and are looking for great food, do yourself a favor and plan a visit!

The family that has taken over the Academy are so friendly and try very hard to make your stay relaxing and peaceful. The giant claw foot tubs and amazing. Some are over 6ft long. The courtyard is green and beautiful with the statues of Mary and Joseph. The French toast is homemade and so delicious. The antique mall is a treasure in itself. The Ursuline Academy does show her age but her beauty is amazing. Even the fact of it being over 175 years old the stained glass is worth the trip rating close to the French Toast and all the amazing homemade goodness.

Arcadia Academy is one of those places that provides respite and joy for those of us who love truly good people and authentic historic architecture. The homemade burger and fries in Thee Abbey were the best. I stayed in the Laundry Building and woke to a glorious mountain view. The adjacent loft-like Community Room allowed for me to keep food in the fridge and make my coffee just how I like it before breakfast. Breakfast across the lawn at Thee Abbey was delicious homemade gourmet French toast with eggs and bacon. The tour of the Academy was enlightening and fun, ending at the grotto and opportunity to sit in the tree swing and just soak up the atmosphere. The historic buildings and beautiful church are worth taking time to visit, as they are lovingly preserved with a light touch by the family that owns and operates the place. I can’t recommend Arcadia Academy for people with highly demanding tastes or expectations, but for those folks who appreciate the beauty of age and patina, this place is a rare gem that I couldn’t recommend more highly. I absolutely Loved it!…

We were in town for a wedding and had a great time in the bungalows, and it was so convenient that is was so close to the wedding. Had plenty of bungalows for the entire wedding party and its walking distance to the Abby. Enjoyed the porch swings around the bonfire.

I joined my friends here for a writing retreat! We each stayed in our own bungalows and enjoyed the property, the hospitality, and the surroundings. It was a great getaway, and fueled our creativity. Everyone we encountered was kind, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place!

This was our second time staying at Arcadia Academy. Such a wonderful rich historical property. Absolutely beautiful part of missouri. Shutins are close and elephant Rock is within minutes. The pool area is beautiful and convenient just right off the back porch. The kitchen had all the necessity items like coffee ziploc bags.. air conditioning was super cold and lovely. Definitely will not be our last. This family does a wonderful job with keeping the history yet modern updates for esthetic and ease of use! Thank you for the memories!

We stayed in one of the bungalows for the 4th of July weekend while family from out of town was nearby. It was so peaceful and beautiful! There was so much room for everything. The best part was that we were able to bring our dog with us to go swimming and hiking with us. I would definitely stay here again!

Katherine is a world class host. So attentive, kind and welcoming. We had the Penthouse in the Laundry Building. It was whole third floor and we had the best stay. High speed internet, all the streaming services, places to walk in nature and very cool architecture. We had access to a whole lounge on the 2nd floor. We also had a kitchen in our Penthouse. Tub with jets was wonderful. On-site restaurant is great, all the food is homemade. Breakfast was super. They have a great gift shop and ice cream parlor. Their whole family helps out and although they work hard, they seem truly happy hosting people. We will absolutely be back!

This was my 2nd stay at Arcadia Academy and this one was just as great as our 1st when we stayed in one of the B&Bs. Six friends enjoyed the coziness and comforts of one of the bungalows during our 3-nite stay. It's wonderful seeing the final results from all the efforts the owners have put into updating and making these historic properties available for all to see and use. The full kitchen in the rental was great, but we did make it a point to eat out one nite, onsite at The Abbey Kitchen. Great food served in an unique setting. Make sure to add this to your list!

My husband and I have stayed at the Abbey now three times since September of this year. We love it so much we literally go ever other month - just to “get away” and relax. The family that owns it are so down to earth and their staff in the kitchen are the same. They truly treat your no different than family. They have many unique rooms available. So far, the Penthouse Suite has been our favorite. Very nice and historic space for a great rate. We have also stayed in a bungalow on the property, and the kids loved and enjoyed having the upstairs to themselves including bunkbeds! Our last visit was in the Garden room and was very peaceful - tucked in the back by itself. They always exceed our expectations in regards to cleanliness, hospitality, culture and respect. We plan on eventually checking out all of their rooms as we always have a lot of fun. Not to mention the food is absolutely amazing! I would give this place 10 stars if I could! ⭐️…
