We were looking for a place to stop over for a night and wished we'd been able to stay longer. Huge comfortable bed, quiet setting and friendly welcome. Café a few yards down the street. What more can you ask for ? MM

We chose to stay at the Stillwater Lodge in Absarokee, Montana as to be closer to our destination in the Beartooth Mountains. What a perfect choice! Our room was charming, comfortable and appointed with grace and appropriate touches of the American West and alpine nostalgia. Our trip into the mountains was among the best ever and made even better by...

I had spent four days of hiking/camping in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness – in a summit bid for Granite Peak, MT. That’s 3 nights on the Froze to Death Platue. Myself and partners had stopped at the Cowboy Bar and Supper Club for ‘real food’ on our way out and destinations. They were headed to Red Lodge and I was...

I wanted to really like this place because I had read reviews calling it charming. The room was charmingly hand decorated with cute personal touches. However the property seems to be the kind of place that people live at and not the best looking bunch. The street lights shine in the windows all night. Theres no bathtub. But cute hence...

This motel is way sweeter than most motels you'll find anywhere in Montana, or most states these days. Each room is decorated differently and well, with thoughtfulness for what will make a traveler's stay a little nicer. The garden is bright and full of interesting plants. I sat on the porch in a rocker and watched little yellow birds light...

To travelers of a certain age, the Stillwater Lodge will seem like a trip back in time. In the 1940s and 1950s the roads of America were dotted with these small 6 - 10 unit "motels" that varied immensely in comfort and cleanliness. A time traveler from that period would be happy to find the Stillwater Lodge since it is...

As a photographer, I travel a great deal from Yellowstone National Park to Glacier National Park, from Chicago to Anchorage, from Africa to Italy, and I have to say this is one of my favorite places to stay. The owner is warm, friendly and funny (seriously hilarious). The rooms are cozy. The lodge is in a great little town on...

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your lodge. We were here for 9 days for a geologic business trip and this hotel is centrally located to our field sites. Everything was sparkling clean and comfortable. Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever! Would definately recommend to others traveling in this area.

This was a great little place to stay in a pretty little town just downwind of gorgeous mountains. We had a clean, comfortable room for under $90, a bargain this trip. Owner was a nice lady with a great wide open western laugh. Another sweet little lady cleaned our rooms which were spotless. We could walk to cafe, bank, grocery...

This motel is an old-style place, right downtown, that has been kept up quite nicely. Our room was on the small side, and much of the space was taken up by the double bed and sofa. Bath was small too, with a tiny shower stall. There were nice furnishings, all Western decor, and a fridge and microwave were included. The...
