Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at Jaya House River Park for 4 nights in August and after a minute, we already did not want to leave.
The hospitality of every staff was exceptional in every way, food and drinks were delicious with wide variety, the room was amazingly well maintained and décor, the daily 60 mins complimentary spa and laundry service was a lifesaver after a long day of exploring, the garden and flowers place to place were nicely maintained and their commitment to both local community and our planet was outstanding.
The moment you arrive, all the staff greets you with a smile and you feel that you are welcomed.
We arrived on our own from Phnom Penh and was greeted with a nice scent of cold towels and refreshing tea upon arrival. Afterwards Chris sat with us and we were given a detailed introduction of the hotel and their commitment to the local community.
We were given a local mobile that we can call the inclusive tuk tuk between town, small card with essential Khmer phrases and he was very helpful to make our trip a memorable one.
We stayed at the Junior Pool Suite, which was very spacious and having our own pool.
Everyday, the room was cleaned and filled with drinks and fresh fruits. The room was very quiet, and we could only hear the birds singing outside.
As we went on a hot, humid season, we had to change our clothes often. The daily laundry service was very helpful, and it was all retuned on a same day, nicely folded or hanged.
After a long day exploring, the complementary spa for both of us every day was a perk. Was able to choose from four courses and we tried all of it and loved every one of it.
The treatment was given in a private room and the spa staff were lovely.
The Jaya Organics, used in the spa and also as in-room amenities were luxurious. Made with local herbs, plants, roots, and flowers contained in recycled glasses, was highly nourishing and rich, we bought some products back home which was packed nicely with bubble wraps.
The room is filled with the scent of their lemongrass oil burner which was refreshing and relaxing.
The breakfast has wide variety of choices and we wanted to try everything.
The restaurant staff will remember your favorite coffee and will recommend dishes depending how long we would be exploring each day.
As we were too tired from our day trips, we ended up having dinner at the Trorkuon Khmer Restaurant every night and everything we had was yummy.
The roof top bar had a nice view with an open sky and green along the river, drinks and snacks were delicious, too.
The tuk tuk drivers were all highly professional as well. We did a day tour of the grand circle, and the driver would recommend where to go and also know the best way to encounter the sites from a secret entrance just for ourselves.
Driving the forest was very cool and refreshing and highly recommend seeing the sceneries.
Jaya House is very committed with 100% single-use plastic-free. I don’t think we have seen any plastic things at the hotel.
We were given a reusable drinking bottles, since we were outside all day mostly, the bottle was surprisingly cool for a long time and refreshing.
There was a note from the hotel in the room that since the establishment, they have planted over 2000, 3m+ tall trees around the area, but also improving public awareness to the local community, why planting trees are important.
The hotel also works with various NGOs and you can see that they are committed to the local community.
Last but not least, the staff were genuinely helpful in every way and absolutely amazing;
they would offer their Jaya Organics’ non-chemical mosquito repellant spray every time we went outside which was very effective, we had some plaster needed incident and they would rush to the store to get for us, my white sneakers were covered with mud and that came back clean in few hours.
I am sure it takes so much behind the scenes effort and so many staff that we did not encounter to make an exceptional luxurious yet comfortable homy place.
I highly recommend to anyone and must say it was one of the best hotels that we ever stayed.
5 Star is not enough for Jaya House River Park, everything was way beyond our expectations and would like to thank everyone for making this trip so memorable and we will definitely go back!

I spent a glorious 2 days at the recently opened Jaya House Angkor Park. The hotel staff were excellent, even more so considering that they had just opened. They were attentive, and knew all the relevant information that I needed to make my stay perfect. I had Room 104 which was beautiful and close enough to the pool to be able to pop out for a swim, but far enough away to have my own privacy. The outdoor shower was divine, great pressure and steaming hot water and their own lotions, soaps and shampoo smell gorgeous and so calming. The bath looks beautiful, but I am not a soak in the tub kind of person and the shower was too nice to miss out on. The bathroom area does need a few more rails/hooks for towels and clothes. The in room coffee machine makes a great coffee and the plastic free environment is definitely a plus! The bed and pillows make for a great nights sleep, the only downfall for me were the bedside lamps ... beautiful to look at but hard to read at night with.
Location is a 'fair distance' from the city centre, but the hotel provides a free tuk tuk service between 7am and 10pm and a phone to take out with you so you can ring the hotel and order a tuk tuk to pick you up with ease. So unless you are planning on being out to all hours the distance is not a problem at all and it is actually quite nice to be out of the 'touristy area' and in the midst of every day Siem Reap. The swimming pool/s are lovely and cool with lots of shady or sunny spots to choose from to relax with a good book. Iced cold water is served as soon as you lay down on a sun lounge.
I had lunch by the pool, the JHAP Club Sandwich and my friend had the Sesame Tofu Salad - both were delicious and the Lime Juices were yum too. The breakfast was outstanding. A huge buffet to choose from and then a menu to order hot dishes from. I had homemade yoghurt and homemade granola, the Poached Eggs on Avocado Toast sprinkled with Pistachio Dukkah - made even better by adding smoked salmon from the buffet. The coconut bread and the mango danish were a lovely sweet ending.
The hotel has its own spa, where I treated myself to two massages ... the foot and the aromatherapy (with grapefruit oil - beautiful smell). Both massages were excellent, gentle but firm and the rooms are lovely and quiet. The foot massage would be perfect after a day out at the Temples.

Chris is a wonderful host, with a highly responsive and friendly staff. Cutting-edge in that there is no plastic in use on the premises, with contemporary rooms that are a fusion of Scandinavian and Khmer.
Excellent food, WiFi that works, two pools with one you in which you can do laps, spa services including a relationship with a nearby standalone spa which provides a delightful enveloping experience, and a very central location with easy access to the temple complexes.
It will be difficult to return home after this most hospitable experience.

Covid-19 has devastated the economy of Siem Reap over the past few months, and many (perhaps most) of the hotels and restaurants frequented by foreign visitors are closed. Some are beginning to reopen, though, and one of these is the Jaya House River Park, where I stayed for four luxurious and relaxing days at the end of June 2020 (two days in a junior suite and two in a deluxe room.)
Even in difficult times and with only a few guests, the hotel staff managed to maintain the superb service and attention to detail so many other reviewers here have commented on here (although some services, like the spa, are currently closed for health reasons.) Almost every staff member greeted me by name and all were friendly and unfailingly thoughtful.
The hotel adheres to strict guidelines to avoid the spread of disease. Every time I entered the hotel, a staff member greeted me at the entrance with a squirt of hand sanitizer and a cool, wet towel. Likewise in the restaurant I was offered hand sanitizer before being handed a menu. The hotel also gives priority to environmental concerns: don't expect plastic bottle, bags or straws here.
If you are already in Cambodia this is an ideal time to visit the temples at Angkor (as I write this, the country has not yet opened its doors to foreign tourists.) In June, an average of less than 60 foreigners visited the many temples in the vast Angkor Archaeological Park each day, more than 98 percent below 2019 levels. Visit now and you can have the remarkable experience of visiting the temples without crowds (social distancing is not a problem!) . You can also take advantage of heavily discounted prices at those hotels, like Jaya House, that are open.
This truly is an excellent, well-appointed and comfortable with some of the best service I have experienced anywhere. I will certainly be back.

We appreciated the hotel’s physical space designed with features reflecting its location near Angor Wat, including design, plants, use of wood and water. The staff is welcoming, attentive and friendly. With 36 rooms, the hotel is exclusive. Prices include laundry& mini bar, free tuk tuk transport-small gestures that make a positive difference. Management treats everyone as if they are friends and they are committed to sustainable practices including no use of plastic (refill not landfill) and tree planting along the river. This hotel is one of our top three and we will return !

Hi robindigiammarino, Thank you for taking the time to write this fantastic review. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed our hotel and that you liked the design. It is very much influenced by the art-deco and Khmer modern design - we aim to give an authentic Khmer feeling without leaving the modern touch to it. I am also grateful that you support our green initiatives, among them, are RefillNotLandfill and tree planting along the river of Siem Reap. We do believe it is a little effort that can help Siem Reap tourism and hopefully the world on a bigger scale. Thank you for trusting us during your stay in Siem Reap and I'm looking forward to welcoming you back to Jaya House soon. Best regards, Christian de Boer Managing Director

We stayed here as the final leg of a Vietnam and Cambodia trip, with the hotel recommended by our travel company (Audley Travel), and what a gem!
From the moment we entered after a late afternoon flight to the moment we departed, nothing was too much trouble. Check-in was smooth and unrushed, aided by complimentary cocktails and friendly chats with the reception staff. The surroundings were calm and serene, the décor amazing.
The bedroom was divine – plenty of space with chairs in a sitting area and a very comfortable large bed. Breakfasts were superb, along with the Khmer Tasting Menu meal in the evening, served with extremely friendly and attentive staff with noting being too much trouble. Add to that the free tuk-tuks, free inspect spray and cold facecloths whenever returning to the hotel – what more could we ask for?
And the icing on the cake was the ethos of the hotel – sustainability and care of the staff seems to run through everything they do, which would explain the happy staff. No plastic – refillable flasks were provided for all the trips. And staff treated with respect regardless of age, gender, ability or disability.
So thanks to Christian (who sat down with us for lengthy chats), Koy Kol and all his staff for making the stay so amazing.

It is only now we have left that I appreciate what a haven it was to hide away from the world for a few days staying at Jaya House River Park.
A unique boutique hotel that blends the indoors with the out in its architectural design, set amongst tropical gardens, pools, ponds, and fountains with a roof top bar. It provides a most tranquil setting for a relaxing escape.
The service provided by the friendly, attentive staff was exceptional. They were genuinely and generously caring of all guests. From the airport pick up and drop off, to the ice cold water bottles we were presented with upon arrival to use and keep, the daily massages, spritzes of natural insect repellent, the refreshing cool hand cloths we were given whenever we returned to the hotel, the help given with planning our daily itineraries and the tuk tuks provided for ferrying us around Siem Reap - every need was attended to and more.
The lotus blooms that decorate the interior throughout are beautiful. The modernist rooms are minimally classic and the bed we slept in was very comfortable. Fresh herbal teas and coffee and a fruit platter are provided in the room as well.
The breakfasts and lunches we enjoyed were fresh and finely prepared.
Now we are home we dream to return there sometime again. A memorable, magical stay!

Hi Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to write this fantastic review. I am delighted to know that you had a nice, tranquil escape at our hotel. It is always very satisfying to read the reviews after the guests leave the hotel and also to get compliments that we will use as a motivation for the staff. I am also glad you enjoyed the layout of the hotel; from the two pools, ponds, rooftop bar, and the gardens. Our gardeners and housekeeping team works really hard every day to upkeep the hotel and I am so grateful for them. The herbal teas, coffee, breakfasts, lunches, tuk-tuk rides, mosquito repellant from Jaya Organics, daily massages are some of the things that we are happy to serve and provide to you during your stay and I am thrilled that you enjoyed them. Thank you for trusting us during your visit to the Kingdom of Wonder and I'm looking forward to welcoming you back to Jaya House soon. Best regards, Christian de Boer Managing Director

My friend Mike organized this portion of our Asia trip for three couples. He is a travel and hotel snob so I knew Jaya House would be nice. I did not know that staying at Jaya House would be an emotional experience. Christian, one of the owners, calls Jaya House his baby. In fact, upon arrival, Christian sat down with us, treated us to a drink and explained Jaya House. You wonder, “why explain.” Because this is not your typical hotel experience. This place and, most importantly, its staff is special. Each and every employee is warm, attentive, intelligent, and gracious beyond any expectation. Christian goes out of his way to hire the very best from the gardener to the waiters to the managers. From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like the favorite family member. So many of these young people are so charming and engaging, I kept telling my wife, for instance, “let’s fly Roth over to Seattle and host him for a few weeks.” These kids are bright, engaging, attentive, interesting and interested. Christian told us, “if you want to get to know these Cambodian employees, chat them up, but don’t tell them what you do for a living.” His point was that as a high dollar tourist, we are a tad intimidating. If they ask what you do, play it down. Man, we enjoyed the staff at Jaya as much, if not more, than the other aspects of our trip. I could go on, but let me tell you about some of the other differences that make staying at Jaya so special. At no charge, they did our laundry daily; we enjoyed free daily massages; we enjoyed free beers and other beverages from our mini bar; every time we left the hotel, they sprayed us with repellent; every time we returned, they greeted us with an engaging greeting and an ice cold wet towel. I could go and on. This place is special especially if you want to get to know born and bred Cambodians. We hope to see Laos in the near future. All of us agreed, when we do Laos, we are going to spend a few days in Siem Reap so that we can spend more time with our good friends at Jaya. If I seem overly effusive, then you are reading this correctly. Oh yeah, the picture below is of one of the evenings when Christian treated us to a drink and wonderful conversation. My one caveat, after you stay at Jaya, other five star resorts will seem so pedestrian. We flew to Singapore after Siem Reap. Our five star Singapore hotel could not hold a candle to
Jaya.
Jaya.

Jaya House is a small hotel with a very big heart ! It is a peaceful haven and an oasis of calm and tranquility .
The words ‘welcome home’ set the scene perfectly as we first arrived ( and indeed every time we returned from having been out ! )
In addition every time we left the hotel we were sprayed with anti mosquito repellent ( their very own recipe ! ) I didn’t need to wear perfume which apparently attracts mosquitoes . The hotel’s own repellent was so much more attractive to wear than my own spray containing deet !
All the staff were so attentive in a genuine, but unobtrusive way . Their command of the English language is admirable and they all loved to engage in conversation .
My bedroom was beautiful and I so appreciated the high standard of bed linen and the hotel’s unique toiletries . The complimentary massage and excellent laundry facilities were an added bonus too .
The food was delicious with the finest banana smoothie ever ! Cocktails on the terrace upstairs was a treat too and not to be missed !
My only disappointment was that after three nights we had to move to our next destination ! We really didn’t want to leave this charming hotel . There was insufficient time with our busy schedule to fully appreciate either of the two glorious swimming pools available .
Chris and his amazing team are to be congratulated on their attention to detail , their genuine interest in our itinerary and their kindness .
We were treated like very special house guests in an even more special hotel .
Thank you all very much for looking after us so well !

Hi 556bbj21, Thank you for taking the time to write such a glowing review of our hotel. I am thrilled to hear that you had a great stay with us and that it was pure bliss. I am also glad you liked our Jaya Organics products in the room and the Natural Mosquito Repellent using lemongrass oil as the main ingredient. The rooftop bar is definitely one of my personal favorite spots in the hotel and I'm extremely happy you enjoyed it, along with the cocktails made by our mixologist. I do really hope I'll be able to welcome you again, along with Chris on your next visit to Jaya House for a longer stay. Thank you for trusting Jaya House and we will see you soon. Best regards, Christian de Boer Managing Director

We were totally pampered at Jaya House on our recent stay. (Feb. 2020) All of the staff made us feel welcomed and loved. They greet you with "welcome home," and that is how they make you feel. Christian sat down with us when we arrived to let us know all about the hotel and what to expect in the area. Siem Reap is hot! So a cool wet cloth was much appreciated each time we came back to the hotel. The rooms are large, clean, well equipped with tea, coffee, beer, soft drinks, drinking water and bath products. The bed was very comfortable. Fresh flowers and fresh fruit are always in the room. A little treat in a sealed jar awaits you in the evening. Before going out, the staff will spray you with the hotel's proprietary insect spray. It is effective, and DEET-free. We were delighted to discover that a daily massage is included! I can attest to the fact that the massage therapists are very skillful. The hotel has two swimming pools. One receives full sun and is surrounded by a grassy area. The other is in the inner courtyard of the hotel and gets some shade. Shortly after you settle in a lounge chair, the staff brings ice water. And the food is delicious! The breakfast buffet is amazing. The croissants would make a French chef jealous, and the variety is superb. You can also order a hot dish. Everything was so well prepared. We also had lunch and dinner at the hotel, and all of the food was expertly prepared. All of the staff were wonderful, but I want to recognize Mao, Sarah, Ann, Kimhum, Chen, Sophea, and Smile. I could go on and on, but this is already very long!

Hi tjworldtravelers, Thank you for taking the time to write such a glowing review of our hotel. I am thrilled to hear that you had a great stay with us and were totally pampered. It is indeed our aim to make you feel spoiled and completely relaxed at Jaya House. I am glad you liked our Jaya Organics natural mosquito repellent - we don't use deet for the ingredient but instead, we extract the natural oil from Lemongrass and it keeps the mosquitoes away. The croissants are indeed nice and fresh every day. One of my favorite things to do in the morning is to get a few croissants from the restaurant for my breakfast. Our culinary team works really hard to make the freshest food at our Trorkuon restaurant and I'm very proud of them. I am also glad you liked your room, the two pools, fresh fruits, cold towels, minibar and the service at our hotel. I will personally pass on your kind words to Mao, Sarah, Ann, Kimhum, Chen, Sophea and Smile - they'll be overjoyed to hear it. Thank you for trusting us during your visit to Siem Reap and I'm looking forward to welcoming you back to Jaya House soon. Best regards, Christian de Boer Managing Director

Good afternoon from Siem Reap !
Thank you for the interest show and , yes ofcourse, we would LOVE to plant a tree in-your-name anywhere along the banks of the Siem Reap River (public areas)
We have now reached the total of 1500 3m trees planted with many of them much larger ! This has happened in the past 3.5 years.
Pictures on the internet will tell you how the river used to look like and also how it is today. The differences are staggering
Feel free to contact me direct on christian - at - jayahousehotels . com
