Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed here for four nights in January and everything was perfect - we couldn’t have asked for more.
On arrival we got politely shown to our room and got explained how everything works - something above and beyond most other hotels. We got a beautiful message on the bed too. The room was huge and clean.
The staff were attentive, polite, kind and considerate. They did everything make sure we were happy.
The poolside was so serene. Considering that this hotel is close to a busy road, we couldn’t hear it, it was very peaceful.
The breakfast was huge and gave a few options.
You’re also really close to the centre of town too - only a few minutes on foot.
Generally, it’s great value for money and we’d highly recommend this hotel for those looking in Siem Real.
We really enjoyed our time in this hotel and would like to thank the staff for making it so ideal for us.

We are return visitors after a few years to Moon Residence. It was good to stay again. The staff are still super friendly and helpful to guests. The room was big, spacious and clean. You can tell that the hotel has been closed for a while as the rooms need a little attention e.g. drawer that did not open and discoloured lampshades. The location is excellent and a short walk if you want to go to Pub Street in the evening. I would highly recommend as good value for money and I hope more tourists come and stay.

We stayed here mainly due to its incredible reviews on booking.com, trip advisor etc. however we thought it was hugely overrated. Whilst the staff at the front desk were lovely & welcoming the facilities in the hotel were poor and the room was a little tired and badly designed! Our room had two large windows, neither of which had curtains so the room was light very early. The key in our door also didn’t work and you couldn’t use the shower without getting the whole bathroom floor soaking wet! The wifi was also very bad and didn’t work in our room at all ☹️ Breakfast was also very poor (I still can’t understand why it gets a 10 on booking.com!) firstly the orange juice jug had mould on it and flies which we told the waiter about and he took it away and then put it back!!! there was also a very limited set menu so if you wanted one thing and not another your not able to chop and change which was frustrating. We had pancakes which tasted really bad & the bread was stale too. Such a shame. Overall, it was a decent location & fine for a few nights but nothing more. The pool was lovely & the free tuk tuk driver who picked us up from the bus stop was lovley. There are plenty of other options within Siem reap for the same price which would be better than this.

Yikes! This hotel is NOT as pictured. Our room was dirty, run-down, with busted door knobs and exposed wires, and a terrible sour smell. The worst part was that the crib provided was rickety and did not seem at all safe to put an active 1 year old in. The staff was sweet but very young and unprofessional, and seemed confused by our requests. We decided to leave within an hour of arriving. I should say that we’d be traveling in Cambodia for 3 weeks at this point, and that I lived in Cambodia for 2 years, so I have a sense of what is acceptable, things that typically get lost in translation, etc. The property refunded 2 of our 3 nights, which is better than nothing I guess. There’s so many great hotels in Siem Reap at every price point; please don’t waste time with this one, especially if you’re traveling with young children.

I really have no idea how this place got such a high rating. This was one level up from a Motel 6 (In the states). Our king room had a/c that barely worked, an outlet near the bed and the tv didnt work. The kind worker that showed us to our room told us this and asked if it would be ok if they entered the next day to fix. We were only staying two nights so I thought this was odd (like why not move us to a different room). After a few hours, the room just wouldn't cool so we requested a new room. We were moved to a twin bed room, which wasnt the honeymoon I had in mind...this room was fine, but the pillow cases had stains on the cases. The bathroom is kind of strange in that its 100% concrete and the floor is slippery. Water pressure also sucked. The last night we were there were 2 lizards in our room. When I managed to get them outside, I realized our sliding door was open a few inches, which we did not do as we never went outside. The breakfast is limited and more like microwaved food. I also asked for a cappuccino and after 20 minutes and me asking where it is, they said the machine was broken. The reason I have 2 stars was because the staff there is very nice. They even wrote our names on the bed in leaves and flowers which was thoughtful.

The 2 people that serve you breakfast need to get a payrise they go above and beyond every day. This place is in a perfect location. Pubstreet is 3mins by tuk tuk or 15mins walk away. Best breakfast I have had in any country.

My husband and I stayed at The Moon Residence & Spa for 3 nights while in Siem Reap in late February. This was. a great little find, and we loved the friendly and helpful, young staff, the pool/restaurant, the spa, as well as the closeness to the nightlife area in town as well as the river/canal. The value as to what you're getting for your $ here is definitely impressive! We stayed in a 'Landmark King Room with Balcony' and liked it a lot. The food we ate for lunch in the restaurant was yummy, and breakfast was great, too. I had a relaxing massage at the spa on our last day - and the staff also helped us book our onward travel by minivan to Battambang, which went smoothly and without any issues. When planning to use the pool, keep in mind they have limited loungers so unless you "time it right" in the late afternoon when coming from from touring the Angkor Wat temples, the pool-side loungers are often already taken... it's a small hotel. Definitely check out The Moon Residence when booking your accommodation for Siem Reap!

We arrived at 4 am from Pnomh Penh after a 6-hour trip in a dilapidated sleeper bus where we couldn't sleep at all and they welcomed us with a smile. They let us take a shower even though our check-in wouldn't be until 8 hours later. That was incredible!
The internet photos do the place justice. The pool surrounded by trees, the beautiful and clean room, the spectacular food (highlight the fish amok and the chicken curry), the happy hour cocktails, the wonderful staff,... of course it has been a total success to come here .
All the attention we received was spectacular but we especially thank Chaat, the hotel bartender. He was very polite, attentive and helpful. Also to Heng, the tuktuk driver, for his help when coming to pick us up at the Samaki market at dawn. They make you feel like someone special and they give everything to make you feel better than at home.
In short, after the chaotic Pnom Penh and the movement of the streets of Siem Reap, arriving at The Moon Residence & Spa is like feeling that you are in a haven of peace, in a heaven within the Earth. Incredible!

We stayed here for three nights in Feb20 and it was a great choice. The hotel is very well kept, the ground are great, the staff very friendly and most helpful. We stayed in room 10 on the first floor and it is well laid out and well appointed: teak floors and furniture, separate shower and toilet and balcony with chairs and table. It is also well located being a short stroll to the markets and center of town. Well recommended

Sorry for the delay. I emailed the Moon to arrange an airport pick up. It took a few tries from the U.S. to get through but I finally did. They arranged a free ride back to the airport for us too, arranged after we arrived. We didn't store anything, but they were very accomodating.
There are more places to choose from in the Siem Reap area.
