The folks at the Swiss International Grand Hotel were fabulous. There always seemed to be someone that spoke English around. Breakfasts are very good. Room was very spacious and we had turn down service in the late afternoon as well. Walking distance to shopping and sightseeing. Altho we had a no smoking room, the room still had a slight smell...

I, along with a group of eight other travelers from the US, stayed here on March 24th. The rooms were excellent, as was the staff, but I would especially like to commend a young lady named Peri Li in the executive lounge for her help in obtaining printed boarding passes for our entire group for a flight to leave the...

Stayed with a friend in a twin room (seaview, non-smoking) on the 18th floor for 5 nights. Room was spacious, beds were comfortable and room amenities were new and well-maintained. We had wonderful views of Gulangyu. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and for non-Chinese speaking guests, most of them could communicate in English. Location of the hotel...

Booked an expensive Japanese Shiraki Suite for 4 nights (6 to 10 April) of business and leisure with my wife. The Japanese suite (2810) is indeed very nice with its huge luminous bathroom. At 7am sharp, we got awaken by heavy construction noise, with hammering just above our head. Noise was intolerable, and we discovered that the whole 28th floor...

This is my second time to stay at this Hotel and it was perfect like the first time! This time I stayed 6 Nights in a Deluxe Sea View King Room on the 25th Floor. It is a big Room with a comfortable extra King size Bed (2m x 2m), large clean Bathroom, a 48 inch LCD TV, Complimentary Coffee...

Lobby was airy and spacious with lots of seating areas. Staff were professional and hospitable. Check-in, even at past midnight, was smooth and staff were courteous. They always seem to have English-speaking front desk and concierge staff on duty. Rooms were very clean, modern, and their bed comfortable. Slight issues with the heating/airconditioning in the room (as with other rooms...

Nice architecture, lean comfortable room, king size bed. Relaxing and quiet. Very convenient to downtown. Exceptionally good breakfast, lot's of choices. Reasonable value for money, but certainly not a budget hotel.

This is our 3rd visit to this Hotel, so we are well aware of the location and facilities of the hotel. We stayed in Royal Suite on 26th Floor and were subsequently moved to 27th floor as our initial room (even though non smoking) reeked of cigarette smoke, despite the 26th and 27th floor being non smoking. It would appear...

Dear Greg, Thank you very much for the review and valuable comments, which are well notel. We totallly agree with you regarding the smoking issue. The time has now come to make it a non-smoking hotel throughout, just like in other countries, like Singapore, Taiwan etc. I remain with our best regards, Roger Mair - Vice President

We have been staying at this hotel once a year for many years as it is the closest hotel to where we needed to visit in xiamen. The hotel is gorgeous, from the lobby to the rooms. Staff are well trained and are very courteous. However we encountered something unpleasant everytime there so I couldn't give it a five star....

Dear Ian Canberra, Thank you for your review and valuable comments, which are indeed an inexusable and unneccesarily hinder it from a potential pleasant stay experience. An upgrade to the Sea View Suite from Family Suite should never be made, if at all, it should have been to a Royal Suite. We have also noted the aircon issue (seasonal challenge)...
