I stayed here for business for 3 nights. The hotel is located in a Chinese resort area with amusement park and other hotels. It seems clear that mostly Chinese tourists come here. The area have not been kept since years and buildings, roads and paths are all in a miserable state. The hotel itself are in desperate need of refurbishment. I needed to change room since my first room was very smelly and moist and had mold everywhere. The food in the hotel is okay, however breakfast is busy like a train station during rush hour.
It’s a huge resort with big area and many facilities. Most amazing one is complex of hot springs - you can easily spend hours there by trying all of them. Some of hot springs are inside and many outside. Good for families (child friendly place). Several small shops, bars and restaurants inside the resort. There is also park with different attractions but didn’t visit due to limited time. Breakfast is average. Room was good and well equipped (stayed in Block A 1610). Will definitely consider visiting again.
Went to Ocean Spring Grand Metropark Hotel for our Easter Holiday. Room package incl of daily breakfast, hot spring unlimited entrance, theme park tickets, and nightly show which was amazing. Performers are highly skilled and well trained. Luckily being upgraded to 4 bedroom villa. Superb villa with 3000 sq ft of space. Very specious and beds are comfortable. Will definitely recommend to my friends and visit again very soon!
Hotel has seen it's heydays and showing wear and tear. It is in the middle of no where though one can take bus or cab out 10-15 minutes to "farm style" eateries that catered to Chinese mainly, no English menus. Restaurant on site is decent but again Chinese audience primarily. Westerner may find food not to their taste. Hot springs pools/tubs are plenty but required 10-15 minutes walk from room to facility. Outside eateries and entertainment venues and amusement park available. Beautiful sunset walk along promenade by the beach. Overall a serene environment if you are contented with what they have and not seeking city life excitement. Good value if you are traveling on a group package. Paying individually I am not sure if it is worth it.
The hotel has a great setting and the walk down by the sea in the evening is beautiful. The hotel itself is OK but not great, the rooms are a bit worn and the restaurants are also OK but not great. The hot spring may be great, but I wasn't able to make the to try it out. Also, it's in the middle of nowhere. It's not a "destination" like Hainan so you have to question why anyone would make the trip here.
**December 2010** Although a little far out and like some have said before 'in the middle of what seems to be nowhere'. Once you arrive, park up and check in you could be surrounded by a huge busy city or a quiet village and you really wouldn't know. The atmosphere in and out gives you a real feel of being in your own little world. Mainly we went for the outdoor spas and a relaxing weekend, the indoor pool is very busy - so ok for a quick dip before venturing outdoors in your robe and flip flops to bathe in: hot&cold springs, coffee, red wine, various teas, and other things more accustomed to being consumed orally. Day times are quite enjoyable, but I think we all felt that the evenings were absolutely idyllic, soft music, warm lighting and so peaceful just laying back enjoying the experience and hot pools. Staff very efficient, polite and knowledgeable with any query or directions. In both English and Chinese. Was a shame to leave but there is only so long you can lay around doing nothing :-)…
The Facility is huge and great for a business meeting, the rooms are ok, the bar need more "bar style" design and international beer - the western food lunch is terrible but the chinese food great ( as usual In China), great to escape work / office for some hours
The OS hotel is a huge complex and two wings (Ocean Plaza and Spring Plaza) but the Ocean Plaza was closed for maintenance (though I didn't see any maintenance going on). Room was spacious and nicely appointed. I paid extra to upgrade to the ocean view but found not worth it as it was just an obstructed view. I reckon that if it was the Ocean Plaza then it would have been much better. FO service was good but F&B outlets a bit expensive accordingly to China standard. The hot spring was under maintenance so some pools were not open too. The night show was good but the theme park was a bit let down and most games not suitable for young kids.
We found this place over internet and got impressed by the promotion video on this site. The way to the hotel we did never expect ever arrive there, but then find a lovely hotel complex near the ocean quite and clean. The hotel itselves and the rooms come in year's age what you can easily see. But more or less it was clean and the room's view was for china a dream. We used the in-house pool facilities and the hotsprings, both nice places to hang around and relax. The restaurants inside hotel provide Chinese dish with good quality. The price was too expensive.
The hotel is far away from the city center, well we accepted it cause we aimed for the hot springs, although it is a big hotel, but service is far below standard, food is average, pretty good hardware in the rooms but needs to improve its software, overall lack of professionalism, mosquitos were all around, price is just O.K. but definitely not an enjoyable stay, wonder why it is the number one hotel in Zhuhai?
