This is a budget hotel, and makes no pretenses about that. It's well designed to meet most travelers' needs, but everything is very simple and minimal. Very Very small rooms, so don't expect much. For the price it's not bad.

I picked this hotel partly because of the good location and partly because my friend had a membership card to enable a discount room rate. On arriving at the hotel to check for availability I was told that there were rooms available, however to use the membership card we couldn't do it at reception and had to book online. Strange and rather inconvenient that they don't just let you do it at reception. Anyway having booked a room I took my bags up to the room. Room 520 doesn't exist according to the directions on the wall, only rooms up to 519 and then 521 onwards. Managed to find it eventually. The room was small but fairly clean, although smelt a bit like a McDonalds which was a bit offputting. Anyway spent the first night without any problems. The TV worked for a few hours and then a notice appeared on all the channels saying something along the lines of "pay the bill". The next morning I had some laundry which needed doing, was informed by reception that they don't have a laundry service but there was a shop next door which does. The shop was closed. The next morning I was woken up early by the phone in the room ringing. They asked me if I wanted the room to be cleaned. Strange request seeing as I had hung the "do not disturb" sign on the outside door. The following morning the phone rang early again despite my increasingly desperate use of the "do not disturb" sign. They told me I had to come to reception to "confirm my check out date". I had paid for 5 nights and now on the third day they needed to know what day I wanted to leave. I confirmed that it was after the 5 nights were up. They seemingly weren't happy with this as on returning to the room upstairs, my key card no longer worked. When I went back down to ask what was going on they informed me that I had to "re-confirm every day for the card key to work". Took my laundry to the shop next door again, closed again. I had to buy some washing powder and hand-wash it in the bathroom sink. The next morning the phone in the room rang early again (as usual). This time it was a recorded message trying to sell me something. This was about the last straw, and I ripped the phone line out of the wall, as i'm sure any sane person would have by this point. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend 7 Days Inn to anyone. Maybe some of the other branches treat their customers better but I won't have the chance to find out, as I won't be staying in one again.
