Had a good 2 nights stay at this hotel. The room I had was quite big and the basic toiletry amenities was available. The front desk staffs can speak basic English which is a plus point. There is a small swimming pool and a fairly large gym with treadmills, cross trainers, spin cycles and weights on the 5th floor. The Chinese restaurant is on the 4th and the coffee house on the 2nd. Located next to the hotel is a shopping center and you can have your coffee at Starbucks on the ground floor. Across the street from the hotel is the bus station where you can get a ticket to most cities in China. For the price of RMB338.00 without breakfast, it is resonable.
A Huge room for RMB 400 is not too bad. As well huge Chinese breakfast buffet included. The hotel is - let's say - domestic standard. For just one or two nights okay. Not as clean as international hotels.
We were booked in this hotel by a tour group we were traveling with and were not expecting it to be a 5-star experience but this is at best a 2-star hotel by US standards. We had requested non-smoking rooms and were put on a floor designated as non-smoking, but as someone else commented here the non-smoking is obviously just a suggestion. The first room smelled like someone had just put a cigarette out, the 2nd and 3rd room they showed us were no better. The 4th room we took but realized later that it was just better, but still smoke drifted in from the hallway and probably through the circulation of air in the building. The rooms we had were badly in need of updating - horrible stained carpeting everywhere you looked, questionable looking bedding, sheets with tears, no spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and the one roll almost gone, a frightening looking shower, and on and on. We would not stay there again but have no idea how good a deal our tour company was looking for when they booked it. We will definitely be telling them to look for something nicer if they book something in Wuhan again. Oh, and complimentary breakfast? Forget it and just find a place to eat. Everything had that look that it might've been left over from last night's buffet or something. Pool was supposed to be open but was closed and the guy who looked like he was supposed to be working was sleeping in the room.…
had a very comfortable and cosy stay at the hotel. very good food the gym as well as the swimming pool were in good condition staff very friendly and helpful. the restaurant staff were all smiling and very helpful. Specially Miss Ying.
Situated on on of the many busy roads in Wuhan, it is a little noisy, but very convenient for crossing the River. Smorgasbord breakfast was convenient and functional. The business centre was also very accommodating. Staff could work on their customer service, but this a universal problem in China.
Now dated and not worth 5 star rating. The room in which I stayed really needed basic renovation, maintenance, carpet cleaning, refit door hinges, etc The higher rooms may be renovated. Very good breakfast buffet with good variety. Staff were very helpful and courteous.
This hotel used to live up to its 5-star (by Chinese standards) rating. In the US this would be a 2- or 3-star hotel. It is obvious that "Non-smoking" is just a suggestion rather than an actual rule, as the smell of cigarette smoke is everywhere. (The elevators are the worst.) The reception staff speak adequate English but really just the minimum required to help most international travelers. The breakfast buffet was much better when we stayed here 10 years ago, and the room service choices are quite limited. In addition, the Wi-Fi connection was unreliable. If we come back to Wuhan, we will stay elsewhere next time.
This hotel does not come with free breakfast. You do not need one at the hotel. Restaurants and food outlets are in vicinity. Fast food too is nearby. This hotel provides free WIFI. ZhongNan subway station is just 10 minutes away. So is Zhong Shan shopping mall. This hotel is in the middle between East Lake and GuiYuan Temple. It is also quite near to Wuhan University which is famous for its cherry blossom trees. The staff was good and helpful. It is a 5 star local hotel meaning close to 3.5 or 4 star international chain. The heater in the room was functioning fine. That is very important during winter and spring.
Made a last minute reservation from the USA. The hotel didn't have the reservation so check in took some time. Eventually figured it out. Usually, the check in process if fast and smooth. Room is nice with some typical (for China) burned carpet from cigarettes. Bed is firm but not as firm as many places. Finally, there is wi-fi in the room but it isn't very fast. The breakfast is pretty good. A wide selection of Chinese and Western food. Try the Re Gan Mian (Ruh Gan Me-an) or Hot Dry Noodles, known as a Wuhan city breakfast specialty. Staff knows some English and does a nice job. A huge bus stop outside of the hotel now. Taxis are a little harder to find since the city blocked the entrance to the hotel but go out of the hotel and turn right and you can find a taxi about 1/2 block away. Be prepared to walk to find food but a huge shopping complex is by the subway stop a couple of blocks away. Overall, this is my preferred place to stay in Wuhan for the value to quality.…
The hotel is a better choise compared to standard chinese hotels, but does not catch up to other Best Western Hotels in Europe or America. The area is full of construction sides that makes any room in the hotel noisy. As everywhere in China it is a good idea to bargain with the receptionist about the price. Wifi is pretty stable. Rooms are clean but without shower, just tub.
