An excellent hotel. It was worth the money. Spent the night during a China tour. Our suite even had a washing machine! A nice location where we were able to take a night stroll sorounded by nice gardens. Do not miss the Fountains Show in the evening, across from the hotel.
It was a very nice stay with all the necessities met. It was a bit basic, but very comfortable. I tried to use the pool but they required a swim cap, which I did not have. They sold them, but I was not interested in buying. So I used the sauna, which was very VERY hot. There was a mall across the street with a really great buffet hot pot meal for 79 RMB, all you can eat. They speak no English, so bring your GoogleTranslate!
Downtown Wuxi is like dropping into Manhattan. It's a hodgepodge of big buildings and it could be any large city. The hotel itself is fine. Large, a bit dated perhaps, but comfortable. We traveled as a tour, so I don't know what we paid. But the prices on Tripadvisor make me think that the hotel is a good value. The T12 mall across the street is packed with restaurants. I agree that the elevators were slow. All in, a good business hotel but perhaps not the best for tourists.
Stayed here one night as part of a tour, so didn't pick the hotel. Location is good. Easy access to shopping places. However it's quite dated and small rooms. The breakfast was below average. The elevators are SOOO slow
Hotel is situated in Zhongshan road, surrounded by shopping places and eateries. It’s also closed to metro station, with just a few minutes walking. Hotel room is comfortable, good size and very clean. Staff are helpful and responsive. Request for extra pillows, towels and ice cubes are delivered promptly. Although we requested non smoking room, cigarettes smell still lingers on the corridor. It’s still good value for money, considering the location and convenience it offers.
As many of the reviewers have stated, we also stayed one night as part of a tour group. The location is great with restaurants and shops close by. The hotel is in need of a remodel. Some rooms are worse than others.
Hotel treated us well along our series of one-nighters on escorted tour in southeast China. Comfortable night’s sleep. Food and shopping quickly accessible at nearby malls and streets. Look for Spicy Joint restaurant.
I stayed in this nice hotel about 3 weeks ago as part of a travel/tour package from Australia and was quite impressed by the hotel, location and facilities. I cannot fault the hotel itself but their “after sales” customer service is rather appalling. After checking out I discovered I had left something in my guest room but I was too far away to go back and collect it so I emailed them through their website. Immediate generated response in Chinese and I think the same in English stating “WE HAVE RECEIVED YOUR EMAIL.....” but that is all I received. I sent another 2 emails to the Grand Hotel group and still NO REPLY. If this hotel wants to attract people from around the world (yes outside of China) then how about a bit of customer service. I have even offered to pay the postage from China to Australia for the return of my “lost” item but still no reply. Once again the hotel is very nice but their customer service is dreadful in this current day and age!!!…
Stayed overnight as part of the group. Hotel has an excellent location in downtown Wuxi with many shopping, restaurants, night life options in the area. Good breakfast, quiet and clean rooms, good service.
This was a very nice hotel at one time, but just about everything is a little tired and worn. The hotel does have nice service and the location is great. A good choice for a stay in Wuxi if you don't need luxury. This is a solid 3.5 star hotel, clean and well located.
