We made our reservations months in advance directly with the motel for a room with 2 beds.
When we arrived the office was so dirty and smelly. We went to our room to only find one bed and it also smelled horrible and was so dirty it was intolerable.
When we went to the office to talk to the owners, they would not move us to a double room unless it was smoking. We went to look at this room and it was in worse condition than the first room.
We got lucky to find another motel with a room available but the owners of the Holiday Motel required us to pay for this filthy room. Do not stay at this motel if traveling in this area.
The owners are so cheap - I was essentially sleeping on a broken mattress. I was truly concerned about bedbugs. So, rather than replace the old, slanted, broken mattresses the owner just puts the plastic zip sheets around the box spring and mattress which are to discourage the transfer and appearance of bed bugs. I did not see any bed bugs. Most my itching at night was the 1960s air conditioner in the window spewing horrible gross air and the utter filth in the room. So, for $79 after tax and fees, this is what you get. I am old enough to remember a better day in travel where you could book a nice, clean Motel 6 or Super 8, or even a nice, family-owned travelodge where you had nice clean sheets and a good breakfast offered. We are musicians and travel a bit so I'm used to this and I can say, at least, it was a SAFE and SECURE place for our musical instruments and equipment. The car was the better choice for me, for sleeping, though.
"I got this room on short notice due to a storm...could not drive home due to closed roads...never slept due to the uncomfortable bed."Read full review
"If the other hotels are full, then find another place. Good and friendly service would improve my attitude. They have lost their passion."Read full review
