The hotel, situated in downtown near May 4 square and adjacent to a metro station (May 4 square exit E), has a peculiar layout with its lobby located on the 5th floor, resulting in an inconvenient elevator arrangement.
Despite this quirk, the hotel impresses with its immaculate cleanliness and well-appointed rooms. I was fortunate to receive an upgrade to a spacious suite, complete with a fantastic bed. The executive lounge offers exceptional service, great food, and drinks, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the city and the ocean, particularly during sunset—a definite highlight.
However, the elevator system is bad, often causing delays and overcrowding. So have patience. Additionally, echoing the sentiments of others, breakfast at the main restaurant falls short. Arriving at 9:30, just before closing at 10, I found a lack of bread, pastries, fruits, and minimal food options. While an earlier visit might yield better experience, I wouldn't recommend dining there late in the morning.
Overall, despite these drawbacks, the hotel offers a solid and enjoyable experience, especially with its well-appointed rooms that can create lasting memories.

This hotel is a very good hotel with great service and great staff. Check in and check out was a breeze. The bed was comfortable the rooms are large the shower was ok not great and the hotel is starting to show signs of wear and tear. The selection of fresh fruits and vegetables at breakfast and happy hour needs to be improved.

Westin Qingdao is well located in the city, easy to get into subway and a very new & modern shopping center, but unfortunately this hotel is poorly maintained and managed. We got upgraded to top floor corner suite with beautiful view of the city but facility was not well maintained. One sink was broken without replaced (see photo). During our 4 nights stay, we encountered twice of no water supply WITHOUT notice. We did complain after the first time stoppage. The duty manager did apologize and sent fruit basket plus 5000 hotel points to us which I told her not to do this but well maintained their facilities so we could enjoy it next time. The last day we stayed, the water stoppage again due to their maintenance work and no notice or call.
Besides this single water stoppage, the gym was managed like a child care center and barefoot playground (see photos), the staff worked there also wearing slippers not sport shoes.
I would not recommend any tourist or business travelers to try this hotel especially with my experience.
This Westin should be classified as 3-4 stars instead of 5 and this would hurt the brand of Westin and Marriott group.

It is just among one of the Bonvoy hotels with no surprise and indeed a little disappointed as a Westin brand. As we travel as a family, having a connecting room is quite essential. The request wasn't met and so we got assigned 2 rooms on the same floor at least. And interestingly the check in staff was very pleased about herself being able to find us rooms on the same floor.
As we stayed there during weekend, breakfast was busy and there were not enough bowls even at the noodle section. Food items were not hot enough (just slight warm) which wasn't pleasant especially in cold winter. Tea bag selection in room is limited and there are only 2 types of tea available at the breakfast. The A/C in the rooms weren't working properly. As it got too hot with heat on, we tried to switch to cool air but not working...
I'm sure there are more options with the room rate we paid for the stay. If Westin Qingdao is committed to do better, your staff needs to be more attentive rather than just treating customers as part of their job scopes.

For a hotel with a strong rating my experience here was very average bordering on poor. Check in took a long time and then despite seeking a non-smoking room (always essential in China) I ended up in a smokey one and then had to wait a long time for attention to move.There seemed to be a staff shortage as some of the team seemed unfamiliar with hotel layout. Breakfast on the top floor had a fine view and good choices, but staff reluctant to approach to offer cooked food (possibly due to language capabilities, but I respect this situation).

Booked for my birthday trip. Service from every staff was excellent, starting from check-in where the friendly front desk prepared a cake and some decoration in the room, to a staff who overheard our conversation about the room being quite warm at night then offered to send a fan. Hotel has a nice heated swimming pool with several jacuzzi, sauna, gym. Breakfast & club lounge were good. Overall very satisfied with all, will definitely go back again.

This hotel is next to the exit E of metro station May 4th square, which is the city center of Qingdao. Don't miss the club lounge located in the 54th floor which can give you a fantastic panoramic view for coast and historic city neighborhood "Badaguan" . Club lounge provides happy hour with a variety of Chinese cuisine. Pool and gym was fantastic. As a Marriott elite member I received a room upgrade to a suite. Daily free breakfast buffet in the restaurant is provided to Marriott platinum and above members.

Traveled to QingDao for a weekend, selected Westin QingDao for the location. Room was not cheap due to it’s the time for beer festival, we received what we book but we encountered issues in the room. The team was very helpful and willing to help but a lot of details were overlooked that’s why I only gave this hotel a 4 star review. The club lounge has a really good view of the bay and space was beautiful.

This hotel's staff has consistently been helpful when either my wife or I have a request, ask for directions, etc. , especially Mr. Long on the ground floor. The hotel rooms are spacious and the property is always kept clean and tidy. There is a metro station right outside the front door, and a Starbucks around the corner from the ground floor lobby. Definitely the place to stay in Qingdao!
