The hotel itself looks like a traditional Chinese building, located in Qintai road, an area full of such historic looking establishments. Staff speaks English, specially Frank at the reception helped us a lot. Rooms are spacious. Groundfloor rooms may be dark, we stayed on 1st floor which was okay. 2 minutes from a large opera which we felt was worth...

It is an old mansion but located within walking distance (15 mins) to Tonghuimen subway station (Line 2) and Kuanzhai Xiangzi. We stayed there for 2 nights in Sept 2016 before we left to Jiuzhaigou and the room including the bathroom is spacious and clean. This mansion is more suitable for those backpackers/budget travellers as its room facilities are a...

We arrived by taxi from the airport 70Y to the hotel. Large clean room with comfortable bed on the 4th floor. Traditional style hotel with no lifts. The hotel is on a busy road so if you're a light sleeper keep this in mind. Great location for exploring and metro station within walking distance. We didn't eat at the hotel,...

It's a new building but in a traditional Chinese style, with a lot more character than most Chengdu hotels. The rooms surround a courtyard restaurant. Breakfast at an extra 25 RMB was great value (eggs, fried vegetables, rice, toast, fruit etc) and we also enjoyed the dinner here. The location is excellent - just a few metres away from the...

Brilliant hotel in a great location! Wen Jun Hotel is a traditional courtyard inn, with very helpful and fully bilingual staff (24 hour front desk), spotlessly clean rooms, and good food from the kitchens. My colleagues and I were very pleased with our stay and recommend Wen Jun Hotel to anyone travelling to Chengdu.

The Wenjun is a great place to stay- convenient to busses and subway lines, with very competent staff, most of whom speak good English. The beds are comfortable, and Qintai Rd, where the hotel is located, is quite picturesque, if a bit commercially developed. The food at the hotel is very good, but Chengdu is the heart of Sichuan so...

we stayed here for three nights at the start of our 2weeks based in chengdu. it was a great hotel offering an old feel. we decided on a twin room as that seemed on paper to give us more space. the beds were huge and very comfortable. the hotel is situated down an old road. the opera house is literally...

The Wenjun Mansion proved to be an ideal base for our short stay in Chengdu. Located about 5 minutes walk from the Tonghuimen subway station (exit A Qintai Rd) we found it easily, thankfully as it was raining steadily at the time. Qintai road is a most picturesque location, a paved road lined with many traditionally-styled buildings including the Wenjun...

Great hotel, beautiful courtyard, seriously feels like you went back in time and are staying in an old temple. The staff speaks fluent English, location is on a beautiful street with old-temple-style buildings with ornate decorations. Very unique. We regret only having 1 night here, we would have gladly stayed for a few more days. Strongly recommend, Wifi and AC...
