Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The rooms are nicely outfitted and the lobby area is set up beautifully with lots of little sitting areas for small groups so no one is getting in anyone's way.
Service was good overall but we found that anything that had to go through the front desk always required a loooooong wait even though they will keep assuring you it'll be immediate.
We stayed at the property while the restaurant was having a Southeast Asian festival, which we really enjoyed. Carry always took very good care of us during our meals there. There's also a cute outdoor garden area with private booths.
We took advantage of the game room (pay by the hour) which is a facility that really requires more maintenance and care. It smelled of stale smoke and there were filled ashtrays and even cigarette butts just littering counters even though we were the first ones to use the room that day. Also, it was really hot in there and the A/C couldn't be turned on strong enough to make a difference.

The hotel location is next to TGL, which is super convenient. Hyatt provides a very great service to do NAT/PRC test inside the hotel, that has totally resolved a big problem to wait in a long queue in hospital. The sales Taylor Zeng and their lounge ladies, abd front desk Heidi were super nice and warm to treat us like the best friends. The hotpot 8 at 16/F is the best hotpot which allows our friends to gather there up to 12:00 am. The suite and the meeeting rooms on 37/F have very great view to see the sunrise and sunset. The lounge provides great drinks always which make us feel like a home to work, meet friends and stay over there every night until 11:00 pm.

Since its opening, I have stayed at this hotel over 20 times, and I can confidently say it is my favorite hotel in Chengdu. The hotel boasts an excellent location right on Chunxi Road, the busiest area in Chengdu, just a 5-minute walk from IFS and Taikoo Li. Classic attractions in the city, such as Kuanzhai Alley and Du Fu Thatched Cottage, are only a 20-minute drive away. The hotel’s design uniquely blends Chengdu’s characteristics with French style, making it truly distinctive. This hotel is located right at the Chunxi road which is as central as you can be in Chengdu, with access to many malls including IFS and Taiguli. Metro is close by and it is possible to walk to the station without exposing too much warm air outside by going to mall to mall. The hotel itself is attached to a mall, with lower 2 levels and upper 8-9 levels devoted to restaurants only. The people come out at night shopping and eating, as the temperature is cooler. I am an explorist, and used one lounge access. It gives me access to the hotel breakfast at the hotel restaurant , and the happy hours which is like a light dinner. Both sessions have great selections of food, and were delicious. The room itself is a bit small but it has a great view, and a nice shower and tub. AC doesn't disappoint either. quiet and cold. Because is located in a very busy area, traffic is quite heavy so getting on taxi gets to be creative as I try to walk a bit farther from hotel become getting on taxi. Definitely a hotel worth considering while staying in Chengdu.

My recent stay at the Grand Hyatt was excellent. Rooms & ambience are great & comfortable. Staffs are friendly & always smilely. Hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of the town, where wide variety of foods are easily available, shopping for the ladies at popular Chunxi road is just adjacent to the hotel, famous tourist "must visit" Taikookli is also within walking distances. And for young adults, party goers, such as Lam Kwai Fong, "night pubs/entertainment" is only less than 10mins didi ride away.
