Just returned from a few days in Cartagena. As a female solo traveler, I was particularly concerned about safety. The Tres Banderas was the perfect home base for exploring the city. It's in the San Diego poriton of the Old City, which is in easy walking distance of everything, and is a bit quieter and slower paced than El Centro.... More

This was a great hotel for the price and located in a wonderful area of the city. The rooms were very clean, hot showers, and a very good breakfast is included. The staff was very friendly and very helpful- especially for a couple whose Spanish is not wonderful! We had planned to stay somewhere different at the end of our... More

We stayed here for four nights and enjoyed our stay. The location was great because it's in the old part of Cartegena and it's very easy to walk to the old City walls and fort. Also, easy to find restaurants and places to eat. Our room was a good size on the second floor so we had a small balcony... More

I have stayed here twice (which is testament in itself). They have basic (around COP 180,000) or superior rooms (around COP 200,000). The superior at 20k COP more (thats about £7 or $10 per night for a twin) are worth the premium. Our superior room was big enough and had a nice private terrace too. The smaller rooms are a... More

We stayed only one night, although we would have stayed longer if they werent so disorganised! The place was like an episode out of Faulty Towers! We didnt have a reservation and had just come off a terrible boat trip from Panama and all we wanted was to splurge on a room with aircon, hot water, TV and a nice... More

I stayed in Hotel 3 Banderas for five days in November. The Hotel is really great and I would recommend it to everybody going to Cartaghena searching for a good price/quality comparison: nice rooms, great service, friendly people, tasteful breakfast, free access to Internet, two nice patios and also very well situated ! Definitely a place where I will go... More

We had a terrible time at 3 Banderas, and I would not recommend staying here. We had read fairly good reviews of the hotel and were keen on staying there, and therefore had booked a suite and a double months in advance. On arriving at the hotel none of the rooms were ready. We were then put in a double... More

I stayed at this hotel in Cartagena in August, 2009. I'm planning another trip for August 2010 and I suppose it's telling that I'm looking around for another place to stay. I definitely WOULD consider staying at 3 Banderas again, but on the other hand I'm willing to look around. Negative reviews on this site say the rooms are dark,... More

The hotel looks nice and it's in a nice place. We payed a bit more for a room on the 2nd floor as the rooms on the ground floor were dark and dingy. We had a nice balcony. But the room was very dirty, the sheets didn't fit the bed and kept coming off. The shower leaked. The room hadn't... More
