Very well maintained hotel. Located at the tip of the Cartegena peninsula, which makes it well situated. Close to restaurants, beach, and shopping. Large grounds of trees and flowers with wandering deer, sloths, and tropical birds. Breakfast was great, varied, delicious.

Recently while in Cartegena I was on a quest to see a sloth so headed here on one of my morning walks (we were staying at the newly opened Hyatt). The hotel itself and the lobby were very old-world and grand. The grounds with the pool and resident animals were delightful. Unfortunately, I never did see the sloth. I couldn't...

Dear ChicagoJanice, Thank you so much for your visit to the Caribe Hotel. We are glad you feel delighted with one of our own treasure: a hotel surrounded by animals and common áreas where our guests can take a rest and relax. It’s a shame you didn’t see the sloth, as you may know they usually stay in the upper...

I last stayed at the Caribe in the late 1980s...it was a grand hotel back then, sitting regally at elbow of Bocagrande. Now, the location is crowded by ugly hotels and, worse, no decent places to eat. Only terrible fast food and pizza. To find decent food, you have to go into the old city which is a 40-minute walk...

This hotel is a classic in Cartagena, but it has some renovated rooms and nice pool area, the service is excellent and the breakfast and food in general is very good. The Laguito is a nice area, is close to the beach and to some touristic places.

I stayed at this hotel from Dec 21-27. The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful. The room was clean, bright and secure. The pool area was amazingly beautiful! There are dear, a toucan and a parrot that live on the premises. On my final morning there, I had to leave at 3:00am for an early flight and I was presented...

Great place to retreat to afteday touring cartagena. Really nice pool and garden with toucan and macaws. Junior Suite plenty big enough for our family of 5. Great location across from the beach and a 3 dollar, 10 minute taxi ride away from the old city. Kids lived the buffet breakfast.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. As noted in the title the grounds are spectacular and the swimming pool is huge. There are parrots and toucans flying around and if you're not careful the toucans will take your food away. The hotel has old charm and the bedrooms are large. The location is nowhere near the...

Hotel Caribe is old-style lodging updated with modern amenities. We stayed in the 'newer' wing vs. the Colonial section, and the room never lacked hot water for the shower. The wi-fi was the fastest and most reliable we've had anywhere in South America thus far. The sea-view from room 446 was excellent, as Hollywood beach is just outside the property....
