I've stayed at this hotel probably 6-7 times, in various rooms. Make no mistake, it is a motel, not a hostel. Couples (young and old) in Colombia often go to motels, especially on Fri/Sat, to enjoy each others companies away from their families. If you're arriving on a Fri/Sat night, odds are you won't get a room because of this....

This hotel (it is not a hostel, there are no dorm rooms) is dated, but the friendly staff keep the place spotless. I've watched the ladies clean; they even disassemble the fans and wipe the windows. Plus, the hotel provides free coffee AND my room had a fridge! My only complaint is that the hotel does not enforce the smoking...

Hostal Odeon was a good value room for the price, I believe it was only 10,000 pesos (about $20) for a double with bathroom. But the neighborhood made us change locations. It was busy and not threatening during the day, but at night we did not feel safe being out and about. We ended up changing to a more expensive...

I had been a regular there and for a basic hotel it was good and I always felt safe. On my last stay I was surprised when my cel phone came missing. I had been there on many occassions and NEVER felt i could not leave something behind in the room. I was believed to have been the room attendent...

This hotel has comfortable beds, fans, private bathrooms with hot water, cable TV all for about $13 per night for a double. It is right in the centre of Medellin, just down from Parque Bolivar. Which means that venturing out at night can be quite an adventure! There are plenty of very dodgy characters around, but it's certainly lively! The...

“The hotel is semi open-air so when people bring in Motos you will almost always hear them. Rooms in the corner are shielded a bit from this. Wifi can be had in room based on proximity to reception, the best room in my opinion is 101, first floor and closest to reception, but they won't usually give it to you for multiple nights.”
