I stayed 7 nights. Starting positive. Rooms are very spacious, nicely equipped and clean. Most of the receptionists are welcoming, attentive and helpful. They fulfilled all my requests, including waving a (50% daily!) rate for a 4 hours late checkout. The chef is very talented: I can vouch for his pizza and dessert. Now, for the problematic aspects: location, noise, breakfast, and inconvenience. Location - I picked this hotel for personal reasons, aware of this disadvantage. The hotel is located a 15 minutes walk from, in one direction - the nearest metro station, and in the opposite direction - carrera 70 (center of life in Laureles). Noise - there is a wide atrium from bottom to top of the building; its fourth side isn't a wall, but a net/screen;all the staircase side facing the street is just open shutters. Result: all street and sky noises are LOUDLY heard all the time, including at the back side (where I requested a quiet room). The windows aren't noise-isolated. neither are the doors. Breakfast - A) service is unbelievingly slow. I once waited 40 minutes for my eggs and hot drinks. Reason: there are only two (nice but forgetful) waitresses. B) guests need to ask again and again for re-supplies at the buffet..... C) .....which is VERY basic and unvarying. There is a for-pay menu of additionals. Uncomfortable bed environment - A) Night tables are 50 cms from the bed, and unmovable. B) No USB sockets. There's an elec socket on only one side of the bed, 1.5 mtrs away. Result: no cellular recharge possible while lying in bed. C) No master switch for room lights near the bed. PS - in order to open the windows, one has to climb on a chair. Taken with the open-noisy structure of the building, it really seems as if human comfort was deliberately ignored in internal design.…
Their confirmation email states: “Terra Biohotel offers free cancellation on select room rates, because flexibility matters!” They are not flexible and they have terrible customer service. The hotel is far from a lot of the attractions Medellin has to offer. I would not stay here again.
This hotel offers great customer service with very friendly and helpful staff. The front desk is attended 24 hours per day. There is an on-site restaurant that offers complimentary made to order breakfast as part of the room charge. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We had a floor near the top with a lovely balcony and awesome views! The hotel is located in a quaint well maintained and quiet neighborhood, so you are able to have lots of rest and relaxation. However, due to the location, you will have 10-15 walks to get to the nearby restaurants and shops and 20 minutes to the nearest metro line. The walks are very safe and we didn't mind the walking. Also, there isn't a pool, so if you want outside time for R&R, be sure to get a room with a balcony. Please note that the water heating system is solar, so the water nay be a bit cold if you shower before sunrise! However, this hotel is very affordable and very environmentally friendly! Definitely recommended if you are okay with the staying a few km away from the popular attractions and restaurants. …
We stayed at the Biohotel for 4 nights and our experience was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and modern. The hotel really cares about being eco friendly and even uses solar panels for the hot water! Breakfast is not a buffet, you just have to order and they will make it for you. It was good breakfast with a fruit bowl, juice, coffee, and eggs. We had booked 2 rooms and arrived prior to check in time. They had only one room ready but we had to leave to go on a tour and told us we could leave our luggage and go. When we came back, they informed us that our luggage was already moved to our rooms, which was a nice surprise. The manager also went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The hotel is located in the Laureles area of Medellin and there is a small market nearby. The wonderful christmas lights were only a short walk away. The neighborhood was quiet and it was easy to get around in uber to other areas as needed during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.…
The location is in a very quiet and beautiful residential area, accessibility is ideal for transfer to several places in Medellin and is well located. The facilities are in perfect condition and the staff is very helpful. They provide accurate information to the guests' requirements
A super comfortable hotel, respecting the environment, well located and above all cozy. The service is very nice. They had no problems with getting an iron, for example. Their approach to ecology made a great impression on me.
kitchen and cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. Day front desk staff and Management are terrible. They only care about making money, even when you get really sick and have to cancel part of the trip.
This hotel is cute and clean. It is located in a residential neighborhood, but there is a major street nearby that produces a lot of traffic noise, and the interior courtyard leads to restaurant noise traveling up to every room. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d consider other options. I really wanted to like this hotel because it’s based on the concept of sustainability. But no matter how sustainable it is, if you don’t feel well rested, that can ruin your trip. Our room was next to the elevator and a control room. In the middle of the night, an alarm started beeping. We advised the front desk, and they said they’d look into it, but the beeping started again in the middle of the night in the second night. We couldn’t switch rooms because the hotel was apparently, full. The staff were nice, and switched our room for the third night - advisedly to the only other open room. Unfortunately, although it was further away from the traffic and the beeping, a bachelorette party was in full swing until late, with yowling girls out to party. Since I was on vacation with limited days, this was a deal breaker for me. …
Had friendly and great staff who were very accommodating. I was a little disappointed with breakfast some mornings. Rooms were kept very tidy and fresh with a great feel to the entire location. It was close to nice restaurants and a convenience store which was safe to travel to at night
Highly recommend. Very good restaurant with a sweet and responsive Waitress. The rooms are large and comfortable. Quiet neighborhood. Great value. There is a market nearby for snacks and soda. Unicentro is nearby with SmartFit and Cine. Like the neighborhood.
