This is definitely a three star hotel at best but it did turn out to be good value for the money. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent, especially when taken in the outer patio (just ask for the music to be turned down or off). The proximity to the Metro station, walking distance to good restaurants in the Poblano area and the convenience of the Exito across the street all contributed to our positive stay at this hotel. The downside is the busy street and the noise that pervades the rooms. Do not get a room with a window facing the outside inner core of the hotel or you will be facing a wall and a bank of air conditioners!
Very basic hotel but served its purpose. Location is fairly close to Parque Lleras (15 min walk, 3 min drive). Our shower wasn’t great but someone fixed it after we told reception. WiFi good and breakfast was generous. Reception staff were not very helpful but this may be because of language barriers as they don’t speak English very well.
We had a quiet room that had a good shower. The breakfast, in our opinion, was so-so. The front desk staff were kind and helpful. It is very close to the metro, which is great. And the southern bus terminal is five minutes away by taxi. Very good supermarket right across the street. Yes, you do have to walk up a hill to get to the center of Poblado. All and all, a nice place to stay for us.
Let me just say that I have never been led astray in my travels as much as I was with his hotel. The descriptions on sites like booking made it sound like an excellent location, and yes it is in Poblano, but on the periphery (near the metro station) but far from the Parco Lleras area, restaurants, and bars, and a 15 minute walk up a steep hill just to get there. Also, if you want to uber/ taxi anywhere, its a difficult location during the day with lots of traffic and one way streets. In regards to the amenities of the actual hotel, the rooms are very bare, beds with thin firm mattresses and makes you feel like you have a private room in a hostel. The hotel overall runs like a hostel, with doors closed at night and having to wait at the door for the security man who goes inside to sleep to open the door. They usually look displeased, as if you shouldn't have been out late. Breakfast was not bad, and the staff were courteous. (hence the reason I gave 2 stars).…
“Alameda de la 10” is a three stars accommodation where you can find all the basic comforts of a hotel of this category. I was staying in a reasonably sized room, with no frills, but clean and quiet. The decoration was simple and modern as the furniture, everything was in good conditions. Same for the bathroom, where I appreciated the strong water pressure of the shower. Breakfast was served downstairs next to the reception, it was various and it featured delicious fresh fruit that I really liked. The staff in the breakfast room was fantastic, as in the whole hotel. For me the very best of this property is the location, above all if you are a budget traveler. The metro station of Poblado is only 5 minutes away and in front of it there's a huge supermarket where you can find everything. The whole area is full of restaurants and the central square of the neighbourhood is only 10 minutes away. Great, really! Last but not least, a special mention for Camilo from the reception. I've been to many hotels in the world, but I never found a receptionist as kind and polite as him. He welcomed me every time with a smile, he cared about my day, he gave me a lot of interesting suggestions. The best, really! I'm so thankful to you, Camilo.…
This hotel has the best location. It is in the most popular area for tourists, El Poblado, close to park Lleras etc. But, as some of the areas around here has a lot of party and noise this hotel was quiet and nice. Staff was really friendly, good breakfast, the room was clean, and there is a HUGE store right across the street with everything you need (do not be fooled by the small entrance). They arranged for a good and cheap cleaning service and helped us with some good tips of what to see when visiting the city.
The place was neat and very organized. The staff very helpful. We were a group and they arranged Taxi's to the airport and all. They took a little extra time with getting us to the rooms but were doing their best. Great location- easy walk to shopping and awesome places to eat.
Something had gone wrong with our booking but the excellent receptionist and the floor manager both speaking good English solved the matter smoothly. Good spacious rooms, excellent breakfast with much tasty fruit; good location at 15 minutes walk fronm the parquewith ample restaurants. great atmosphere and great service
We were a bit shocked when our taxi driver let us off outside this hotel. It is situated between two really busy streets. We got a room facing one of the streets and the noise was really loud, also inside the room. The hotel is really close to the Metro and you will find a lot of restaurants nearby, also if it is a bit outside the "tourist center" where you find most of the restaurants. The breakfast was excellent and the Wifi ok. We ended up staying 4 nights in this hotel (as we really enjoyed Medellin) and we even got used to the traffic after a couple of days.
This hotel was over priced compared to the service you get, We requested a higher level room on reservation and got 3rd floor instead, internet is very bad here and as international travellers this really hurt us since we dont have any cellular service. The shower door was cracked so the bathroom was really wet every time we took a shower. The staff especially the bell-boys and the servers are extremely nice and the cleaning staff was there to help. If you dont speak any Spanish it would be extremely hard for you to communicate since the staff do not speak any English. Location is good very close to Lleras and Poblado with an exito and a bank right accross the street. And breakfast is decent as well.
