Positives: Cheap Safe location Near metro statio Good for smokers Negatives: Our private room was missing a window, which was near the outdoor sitting area so our room consistently smelt like smoke. Hard to cook food as there was always dishes unwashed and people in the kitchen Our room was connected by a single door to another private room so...

The Yellow House Hostel does a very good job of being what it says it is...a small, clean, secure, quiet, no-party budget option in a good neighborhood just a couple blocks from the Estacion Floresta Metro stop. Vince, the energetic French expat owner, delegates many of the daily hostel tasks (i.e. breakfast prep, laundry, front door watch) to a few...

Nice place in a quiet residential zone for a quiet stay away from the touristy, overpriced, noisy Poblado party district. The breakfast is very good I heard (since I only tried the cooked omelette). The dorm is depressing compared to the rest of the other rooms. Quite near the metro and supermarket. Stayed there April 2014.

Nice place if you want a quiet stay in Medellin, away from touristy, overpriced and noisy Poblado. The owner and the staff are very cool, it is clean, wifi works well, the breakfast is very good, fresh fruits, omelet, bread, good jam, real butter and coffee. Another shower would have been great but it is ok, the dorm has nothing special...

The good: excellent breakfast and employees, very close to metro, inexpensive privates. The bad: no bar or tvs ensuite as advertised, not much nearby, very hard bed! Ok stay but probably would stay in a different part of the city next time.

Excellent breakfast (fresh juice, coffee, eggs, bread, and fruit), great location in a peaceful neighborhood next to the metro (but close to restaurants etc.), and friendly, helpful hosts (including proprietor Vince, who shared with us some of his awesome French quiche, and others). Nice peaceful and friendly atmosphere, with two great hostel dogs. The metal bunk beds in the 6...

Great hostel owned by French Vincent with free breakfast. One 6 dorm and 5 double private room. It is clean and safe with 2 sweet dogs around. Then very close to the metrostop Floresta. After 22/23 o clock is the hostel quite. So good hostel for active days.

Breakfast is great (though an absence of milk for coffee over 3 days was surprising) and the space is comfortable. Location right next to La Floresta station is great. Don't stay here if the sight of shirtless Frenchmen lounging around all day and the smell of dog on old furniture bothers you!

If you are looking to party all day/night with young backpackers this place is NOT for you! Located in the quiet, safe, upscale neighborhood of La Floresta, this hostel is a sanctuary in Medellin. It is run by an affable Frenchman who prepares a wonderful breakfast - included with the nightly rate (omelette, fresh fruit saldad, juice, bread, coffee). This...
