Enjoy your stay in Medellin!
We stayed for 5 days with 3 teenagers and loved it! amazing location, we could just walk around and found great restaurants and cafes. everyone at the front desk, concierge, room services, 6th floor restaurant etc, was really welcoming, accommodating and friendly, Highly highly recommend.
I loved waking up to the view of the mountain. The co-working space in the lobby area was very convenient. The breakfast was very good as well. The floors look like museums based on region in Colombia which is cool. Close to all the action of Poblado, but since it at the top of the hill of Calle 10 it was not as noisy. Overall a great stay.
I would not come back to this hotel. I loved it because it was in a good location and it was clean and staff very friendly. They must have new management because everything is different. The beds were not made completely, there was no soup, the towels were very old and had stains, most of the outlets did not work, and the staff is rude. This hotel used to be our go to hotel when we traveled to Medellin. But the last couple of times you can see the quality of the hotel go down. This time the room we got put on was next to the elevator and you can hear everything the whole night and could not sleep. The next morning we asked if they could move us to an other room and they said they would. To leave our bags packed and when we came back they would move us. When we got back we checked with the lobby and they lady in the front was extremely rude. She said that the lady in the morning had forgot to move us and just brushed us off. She become rude and did nothing to help. Honestly there are a ton of new hotels in the area now that are in the same price range and better. Save your time and don’t come here !!…
A Disappointing stay. They placed me in a room on the third floor where they were remodeling, and next to a room that was being remodeled. Non-stop hammering and loud noises all day long. I had to reschedule my phone meetings, and could not rest. They changed my room after I loudly complained. Then, they placed me in a room that was already being occupied. When I opened the door, there was a person on the toilet defecating. The cleaning of the rooms also needs to improve. There was hair all over the bathroom sink, and the carpet looked liked it had not been vacuumed. Lastly, the Front Desk Staff was NOT welcoming or friendly. Almost like they don't like dealing with Customers.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and the location is excellent if you are looking for nightlife. There are many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Not a great location if you are looking for peace and quiet.
We haven't seen too much of Medellin, but what we saw in El Poblado really amazed us, and Diez Hotel is a great accommodation option in that area. It's located smack in the middle of the nightlife area, but we had no problems with the noise coming from the outside. It's a block away from the pedestrian street that has multiple restaurants, bars and anything you would want for a great night in town. Hotel has several restaurants and a conference center. It seems like it would be an excellent option for a conference, but we only stayed there for vacation. Our stay came with a free breakfast option and the breakfast was exceptional. Overall, staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the convenient things for the American tourists in times of COVID was the fact that you can request an on-call nurse to come into your room and conduct a rapid COVID test. Then you get a certificate of your test result that you can use to fly back home. And the hours that they offer are extremely flexible! We had our nurse come at 8 PM. It wasn't very cheap as it cost smth like 160K pesos or about $45.…
We can say that the best thing about the Hotel is the location; It is in the middle of the best tourist area of Medellin. The rooms very comfortable. For work trips like the one I made, some details are needed, such as: A quite business center and more stable WiFi and the most important thing is that it is a bit difficult to rest at night, because the hotel is close to the nightlife and the music is heard until very late at night. Breakfast: very weak, for a hotel of this category it should be better in quality. Front Desk Staff: Not so good, could be friendlier and more available to resolve any issues that may arise. In conclusion: Improving some details, it can be a great option for business travelers.
This is my second time in this hotel and the last one. Their front desk personnel was quite rude and not well mannered. One of the maids for room cleaning was quite rude also. A lady in the front desk when I asked her about the companion policy I cover in another paragraph just told me " I already explain that to you at check in". Needless to say it drove me nuts. That is an unacceptable answer. I don't know if it is that they work for low salaries (which they surely do) or under too much stress but I had 2 separate incidents that I have not have while staying at about 6 or 7 different hotels in Medellin. Room is ok. Good bed. Bathroom and room design I don't like. Should be more private. Furniture is pretty and tv is ok, it lacks Netflix but you can watch youtube. They have maybe the best floor decoration of any hotel in Medellin. It is quite charming. Very good view of Medellin from high floors. They bring you bottles of water for free which is a plus since most hotels in Medellin dont do that. Breakfast is good. But mostly the same everyday. The guy doing the omelettes may be their best employee. Very attentive and well mannered. Hotel does not have a pool and the use of jacuzzis or the gym is to be arranged at the front desk. This is not a hotel for solo travelers. I paid a 4 night stay for 2 people in the room. My companion stayed for only 2 nights and had to go. I cannot enter another person unless I payed 200k cop for an "extra person" even though I was alone in the room. That is a stupid policy since I already payed for 2 people in the room. Not for 2 "check in". So beware of extra costs here. They also give you one key for room even if you have a companion. Second key they charge you which is also a first in any other hotel I have stayed in Medellin. I don't like the water-esque coffee they give you at breakfast so I ask for one from the expresso machine. They also said I had to pay and it was not included. At San Fernando they give you the expresso at breakfast for free. Overall it was not a good stay. Personnel is stubborn, they don't analyze every case individually and for me this hotel is not worth it. The extra charges and front desk personnel attitude are some of the worst I've had while travelling to Medellin regularly for the past 2 years. Cannot recommend. Stay at San Fernando or Duparc which are much better options.…
Very central location to the main tourist hub of Medellin. Free parking, too. Hotel looks like a really nice Embassy Suites, if you are familiar with that, but with many cultural touches. Free breakfast was pretty good, along with the service. Only thing is that my neighbor would tend to play really loud music in the morning, and the hotel didn't seem to care. Other than that, if you can book for less than $90/night, it's a solid place by American standards.
Best attention, flexible, the added value make our customers to love their stay, close to the small airport for charter flights, and not much traveling time required to reach the international aiport in rio negro
